The hotel is great. Its right on the edge of a pedestrianised area with bars, restaurants and shops. Check in was easy, the breakfast had plenty of choice from cereals, meats, cheese, fruit, cakes, pastries, toast, scrambled egg and either sausage or bacon every day. The room was clean with a kettle and tea/coffee but no milk.

It's hard to give any major issues, but I did have to ask for coat hangers as there were only 5, and we were there for 5 days. The team sorted it out straight away. There was no milk for a brew and no fridge to keep any in. Finally, I did choose the hotel for a central location, which it is. However, most of the sightseeing is much further away and down bank. If you want to spend more time in the Riberia District, you are about a 25-30 minute walk and all uphill coming back. That may be hard for some people.

Good hotel, in line with the 3 stars category. Clean, beds are good. Breakfast is OK, both continental and "italian", the brakfast room it's usually crowded from 9:30, so it's better to go earlier. Hotel is full in the weekend, very livable in weekdays. Very easy from Bolhao stop of the metro, direct connection to the airport (line E).

Ask for a quiet room because some rooms have a door comunicating with other rooms it and can be noisy.

Great location on main walking shopping street near metro station. Building is relatively modern. Stuff was professional and helpful. Not very expensive. Breakfast was good, there were pasteles. You can expect ordinary reliable quality of Hoisday Inn.

We didn't pay attention and absence of fridge in room was surprise. Windows were dirty (from rain or soap), we didn't mind but someone could find it very disturbing.

The hotel is relatively new compared to others in the area. Location was perfect, 35 mins on an Uber from the airport, right in the heart of the city. We wanted to explore the city on foot, its position meant that nearly all the landmarks and attractions are well within walking distances (we were trying with children and elderly). The shopping district is only a 5 mins walk, with 2 shopping mall nearby. It’s a holiday inn express so you’d expected to usual standard from the chain. We stayed in the 5th floor for 3 nights, the 2 rooms was good size (a double bed with a sofa bed and a twin room), well equipped (smart tv with casting, a decent hair dryer). Bathroom was big, shower is decent size with high quality finish and very good toiletries available. The staffs were excellent, welcoming and extremely helpful. We asked for recommendations of restaurant nearby and were given lots of choices. At the end we chose Antunes that was highly recommended as a local favourite. It was an excellent meal to start our 4 days tour and we are grateful to the hotel staff for this.

The only thing we can fault was the breakfast (it’s included). Selection was a bit limited but it does changes daily. The scrabble eggs was the only thing we didn’t like.

Definitely a great location near to the shopping street that has a mall down the street and many shoos along the street (Sephora, Sketchers, FootLocker). There is a metro station within three blocks from the hotel. The breakfast was very nice with good selection of juices, eggs, and pastries. On the quiet end of the shopping areas so it was pleasant to stay. Hotel was clean and nice staff.

No gym facility on site or near.

Wonderful location, rooms were decent sized nice and breakfast fresh and coffee machine was excellent. Having an elevator was a huge bonus!

My only complaint would actually be the pillows for the bed are a bit on the flatter side and actually hard to get comfortable. The type of pillows they have at the Holiday Inn Express in the US are among my favorite in the hotel bedding category.

Excellent location and 5 minute walk from Bolhao metro station. Although the breakfast was same every day,there was a very good selection and we were more than satisfied with it. Clean spacious room,and staff were very attentive. Overall a very good stay in Porto,would not hesitate to stay here again should I visit Porto again.

The hotel lobby and rooms are clean and modern. The air conditioning and elevators worked reliably. The staff were extremely polite, great with many different languages, and generally pleasant to encounter. There have been many reviews commenting on the inadequacy of the free breakfast. I can attest that the breakfast had MANY different food choices, even a hot option (scrambled eggs). While most of the offerings were breads and pastries (the mini croissants were a standout as were the pastels de nata), there is also yogurt, cereal, many juices, fresh fruit, boiled eggs, cold cuts, cheeses, jams…. Coffee machines for many kinds of coffees, espresso to lattes, etc. I had a delicious breakfast EVERY day. And the common area was open late. Located On R. Santa Catarina, the location was excellent A short walk to the Bolhão metro station and the Mercado do Bolhão as well. There is even a mall for shopping- Via Catarina. Hot tip - go to the rooftop bar at the mall (floor 14) to see a spectacular sunset and get your dance groove on if you feel so inclined. The Holiday Inn Express City Center, Porto, was great value and even better location!!!

The breakfast was excellent, we know Holiday Inn Express is only continental breakfast but this hotel offers more than that. They also served cook food scrambled egg and toast, which is very important for my husband's breakfast. The staff really working hard, they open from 7 to 10:30am and continue refilling the buffet. The reception was very helpful, confident and knowledgeable. We asked to leave 1 luggage to keep, because we are going to Santiago and come back to stay again with them. No hesitation Duarte took the bag down and gave me a tag to keep for reclaim. Carlos was also excellent, every morning we ask for a taxi going to our full day tour. We don't want to be late so he arranged it without fail. He keep an eye for other guests who does not request and just jump in. In total we had a nice stay with them. Location wise this is the best hotel location and even though very busy outside our room is very quiet.

The management should have a routine maintenance of the rooms. First time we stayed for 7nights the last 2 nights we reported that our shower tray does not drain properly. But nothing happen until we have checked out. We came back and stayed again for 3 nights the room (different room) was clean but the shower head bar handle is broken, and cannot adjust the direction of the shower head.

Location was great. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast Good pastries, okay fruit but could be improved. Coffee machine delivered horrible cappuccino.

I have mobility problems and use a wheelchair so had requested an Accessible room. In general this was comfortable but the shower had (as is often the case) been set up without consulting a mobility challenged person. There was one hand rail on the far wall but nothing at all to hold on to to walk the 1.8 metres to that hand grab. When using the shower, the hand rail was behind you. A good item was the folding down seat. The hotel needs to add handrails onto the other two sides of the shower space to make it safe. I told the receptionist about this and showed her photos.
