I liked almost everything about this hotel. If you're looking for a full-service, bigger and comfortable place to stay, this is the spot. We stayed here for our last night in San Jose and it was really comfortable after running around Costa Rica. What you expect from a bigger, chain style hotel. I regret not booking here for our first two nights in San Jose at the beginning of our trip. It was a bit more expensive than the Radisson Park that we booked (don't book there), but in retrospect it would have been wise to pay the extra and stay at the Crown Plaza. Plus the Avis office that we rented our car from is there. BTW, our car rental with Avis went fine and was cheaper than Adobe, assuming they release the multiple holds they still have on my card.

Although the service in the Nazarro (sp?) restaurant was great, the food was so-so. We had fun at the casino right next door however.

Nice large room and clean bathroom. Pool was fine, gym was good and the bar area ok

Breakfast was not great, friendly staff but the quality of the food was sub standard to any other Crown Plaza I have stayed in around the World. Bar was ok but VERY expensive / over priced

Great hotel and amazing staff members - warm, incredibly polite, efficient, reactive and so welcoming. The staff was what stood out for me in terms of their willingness and efforts which made us feel ever so welcome. Our stay definitely mattered to them!! Great and varied breakfast and again, the restaurant staff went out of their way to make sure each guest was well served. I would definitely go back to this hotel. Most tour operators also pick up from this hotel.

I liked everything.

We always stay here when we visit San Jose. Excellent accommodations, and the Fuji restaurant is the best in San Jose. Our room had a great view of the light festival parade and drone show this past weekend. the breakfast is exceptional and delicious. my wife and I will only stay here bc it's most comfortable w a great location! close to many attractions and staff help you get a taxi

Extremely friendly and helpful staff, very attentive to customer's needs. The Japanese restaurant was superb, but there is a fairly decent supermarket across the road and some very nice restaurants around the corner on Avenda De Las Americas. I would be happy to choose this hotel again.

Nothing to complain about.

Beautiful building with a large central area. Both restaurants were nice with large menus. Casino was a fun way to kill some time in the evening. Staff was great helping us get checked in and setting up a shuttle to the airport. Definitely would stay here again.

My room smelled a bit musty which wasn't great. It was clean and everything else was fine but the minor smell was off putting.

Crown Plaza was our last stay of a three week trip through Costa Rica before we flew back the next day. It was perfect exactly for that purpose, I would not pick it for sightseeing in San José. The rooms are spacious, it is a hotel on global level and offers everything you need. We clearly enjoyed to have a well working hot water shower again :-) The pool area is very nice and you can easily spend some time there. There is a beautiful park right around the corner to also spend time. Value for money was clearly given, e.g. compared to the hotel we stayed in when we arrived in San José.

Breakfast is totally overpriced when you compare it to other breakfasts in CR. The buffet offered limited variety and was also not filled up quickly enough. That is not ok for 22$.

Very clean, nice spacious room and bathroom. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location - seemed safe and in walking distance of some great restaurants.

Nothing about the hotel, but I wish we had picked Avis for our rental car company because they had a return location right next to our hotel.

Breakfast was fantastic. We were quite delayed getting in our room. Luzia jumped in and put us on the club floor which really changed our initial irritated impression. The food was delicious. Restaurants both great

I think the pool needs tropical plants. We also walked around the park which really isn't hotels problem but for tourists that park could and should be beautiful. It was dry, no water in lake and needs flowers and plants. It would be a perk for the hotel.

Breakfast was really good, a wide selection of fresh food The room upon arrival is pre-cooled, and clean. The hotel has good facilities, and the noise from the main hall didn't penetrate into the rooms. Staff are all friendly and helpful

Checking in takes ages, it is very old school they have smart door locks they could with investment have a no-checkin check in. The last thing I want to be doing after a 15-hour trip is spend 15 minutes standing at the desk waiting for paperwork to be processed. Also, I booked the Avis in-hotel location for a rental car but it was closed for the duration of my stay meaning I had to leave the hotel and make my way to the nearest depot.
