The rooms are nicely appointed, great shower, safety deposit box and quiet. The hotel is located close to the Souter Hill bus stop to access town. Great gym with pool and sauna. The breakfast is very, very good as are the restaurant meals served on an evening.
I found the restaurant service either at breakfast or in the evening a little variable. Host / Hostess - generally speaking it is smiley and friendly, but on occasion it is not welcoming. As I said, the food is tasty and very good. Sometimes though and depending upon volume of guests (coach parties) the service could be improved. Upon being promptly seated, it was at least 15 minutes before I had to get some waitstaff attention. I ordered drinks and food, food arrived without cutlery which I had to then chase, drinks were stood on the bar which I had to follow up on. Upon checking out, I let the reception know when asked about my stay, and there wasn't any interest in my response. Don't get me wrong, it's a good place to stay, but I think the F&B service approach needs to be reviewed.

Stayed for 2 nights and room not made up so ran out of toilet paper and no tea tray filled up either .Do not disturb sign was same on both sides so no make up room sign available .Didn't get into pool last morning as was busy and was asked if we had booked kids Dissapointed .

Very conveniently located, even without the car, due to the vicinity of the bus stops, I was able to get to town in approx 20mins. Also, if one wanted a stroll by the sea, 15mins walk to the Aberdeen Coastal Path (beautiful). The beautiful smell at Reception area! Staff at Reception and in the bar/restaurant very helpful and professional. The rooms were rather well equipped, however, when moved to a lower standard room, I was told there was no fridge. When I said I needed one for my medication, the lady at Reception said they will provide me with one and soon after another lady arrived carrying a small fridge 😉 The food in the restaurant I can't comment too much on as I mainly had just soup which was nice on several ocassion, but would say rather small for the price they're charging. Overall I had a very nice stay and would come back.
The noise coming from the vents outside my window - this was rather horrible when trying to keep the room aired, and it was constant! The view from the window 😞 The fire alarm/evacuation which seemed a bit chaotic on the staff side and the Fire Marshall wearing the high viz (who atood outside) was super lost and didn't seem to care much - the roll call was taking ages because he was just disorganized. Luckily the alarm turned out to be nothing and we were allowed to come back. What got me thinking was that no Fire Brigade came and the whole commotion must have lasted 10-15 or 20mins, so surely if the staff had called the Fire Brigade they would have arrived. As a Fire Warden myself, I found it "interesting" to say the least...

I have been staying at this hotel for over 20 years and have always appreciated its convenient location and the sense of familiarity it offers.
This visit was less enjoyable than previous stays. The check-in process could have been smoother, and I was disappointed to find there wa a charge for parking. The bedroom and bathroom in my room was very dated and worn and would benefit from refurbishment. Overhaul the hotel feels very tired and cheap compared to how to how it used to be, which was very disappointing after many years of positive experiences.

Great facilities, staff in the restaurant and spa were particularly fantastic- extremely friendly, patient and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious too and the room was very comfortable.
The staff member muttering under their breath at the reception about children making sounds in the foyer and people phoning at a busy time wasn’t the warmest of welcomes. Totally appreciate the job must be frustrating at times but I didn’t find his manner the most welcoming. Thankfully the lovely surroundings and great experience the rest of the stay meant this didn’t tarnish the visit and I would recommend the venue and gladly stay again.

The amenities were great. I enjoyed the pool and spa, and the restaurant was good, too. I didn't use the bar, but it looked well stocked and inviting. Staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and well made. Extra towels were provided in the closet without having to ask and the option for room service every day. It's a great hotel. I would definitely book again.
I didn't have tea/coffee tray or kettle in the room. Some of the furniture is a bit old. But nothing major. Traffic is a bit loud in the morning if you have your window open but that's life.

Reception staff were delightful, friendly and efficient. Young lady dealt diplomatically with the rude gentleman who barged in to interrupt my check-in with an idiotic question. Restaurant staff similarly were very courteous and efficient, particularly the male helper at breakfast (shortish, foreign) who went out of his way to help with an unusual order. The room itself was comfortable enough, reasonably spacious, with a lovely view of the massive roundabout and fast food outlets on the other side. Netflix log-in was simpler than it has been for other hotels with older TVs. Might have neglected to log out though. The pool facilities were excellent.
There isn't much else within walking distance, apart from the fast food joints on the other side of the furious roundabout. Not a problem if you eat in.

The room was large and clean although the carpet was a bit threadbare and the bathroom needed upgraded in areas. The breakfast was excellent, the staff in the restaurant were lovely very accommodating. The swimming pool was excellent however the changing rooms could use better private areas to change in and a family changing room.
We were unable to pay by cash which we didn’t realise and the manager who came to speak with us came in with a very abrasive attitude however after asking to see my phone at the booking.com page and also not seeing “no cash” on the page realised it was easy to miss and was a bit more understanding.

-although it wasn’t right in town it was quick and easy enough to get to by bus. There was a bus stop just across the road past the roundabout and we were in the town in no time. -room was clean and had everything you needed. There was a small dining table in the room which means you can eat in the room- the hotel does room service too. We did not eat dinner at the hotel however we were in the bar on the first night and the food smelled really good. -the pool was great (they also give you towels which is fab) sauna and steam room were nice and relaxing. -breakfast was really good- buffet style with everything you needed and more. Kenan in particular was helpful and kind. The staff at breakfast ran the place like a well oiled machine. Most recent stays I have had in hotels, the breakfasts are always manic and chaotic but was really efficient here. Nothing was ever left to run out on the buffet and plates and tables were quickly cleaned. -staff from check in to restaurant/ pool were all really friendly and definitely contributed to a great stay. -one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in a long time.
I would be having to nit pick as overall everything was great. -the bar was quite expensive but understandable for its location.

Breakfast is good, restaurant is lovely. I’d suggest having actual hash-browns rather than the little bites also having some of the fried/boiled eggs available at the buffet breakfast as they take quite a while to come when requested. Staff were all lovely especially in the restaurant and the lady who checked us in at reception. Room well aired, spacious and clean.
No actual hash browns and having to way in boiled/fried eggs. Pool had limited spaces which is understandable in the summer there were kids fighting in the pool which was a little off putting, possibly a patrol of the pool every so often would help this.
