An excellent breakfast - loved the omelette station and there was a superior selection of teas, something that is usually hard to find since more people drink coffee than tea. All the breakfast food appeared to be fresh and of superb quality. The property as a whole was very clean and up to date. The room itself was spacious and it was nice to have a full size microwave and refrigerator. Bathroom was pristine and bed was comfortable. Plenty of towels provided - you don't have to chase down the housekeeping cart to beg for more. Also my room (323) was quiet at night - a real bonus for a light sleeper.

I would suggest investing in a hot water dispenser instead of putting hot water in a carafe. Due to the small size of the carafe, the hot water was always running out. My other suggestion would be to have an assortment of instant oatmeal choices (all the more reason for getting a larger hot water dispenser).

When I checked in, I appreciated that the front desk manager (a) flexibly could speak in ingles or espagnol, and (b) already had my check-in information, and room card, prepared. On top of that, the gentleman helping with parking was very service oriented, being helpful and upbeat with our luggage and parking instructions, even though we arrived at midnight from a long drive from the Pacific coast. Also, the breakfast food was fantastic, overall. I appreciated how there was a warm caraffe of milk for coffee/tea, how polite and friendly the omelette/egg cook was, and the wide variety of healthy food, especially with a local influence. Except a few minor food points (see below).

The breakfast fried items (the triangular and circular items) were too dried out, perhaps because the heat lamps above them were too hot?

What an amazing place. If I'm ever staying in Escazu again, I'll definitely choose this hotel. The staff were superb, very friendly, ready to help and very accommodating. I asked for a room on a higher floor and they instantly arranged that for me. The breakfast was really good, with amazing service again - and a good choice of food and drinks. They also have a fantastic terrace outside, so you can choose whether to have your breakfast indoors or outdoors. The room was spacious and quiet, with a self-contained kitchen and a comfortable bed. They also have an outdoor pool and a nicely set up gym. The gym is not too big but has great equipment and if you go there during a quiet time, you can have the whole place to yourself. Also, a free welcome drink of my choice was a very nice touch. Another thing I loved was the location - right in the heart of Escazu, surrounded by excellent coffee shops and fashion boutiques only a short walk away.

I wish they had spa facilities on the premises rather than in a galaxy far far away. 😁 To get to the spa, you had to leave the building, walk well outside the area, cross the highway over a ridiculously long footbridge with no lifts, then look for it somewhere there on the other side. I must admit, I gave up. But if you don't intend to use spa services, it's not going to be a problem. They can send a masseuse into your room instead, but she needs to be paid in cash. Lastly, I wished the room colours were brighter (they were the 1980s-style dark brown palette) but that is a personal preference, someone else may actually like it that way.

Everything was GREAT! It was nice to have real food for breakfast. Everything was tasty. I went next door to the AC hotel to by candy and they told me I could pay for it in my hotel. That would never happen in the US. Having a full kitchen made it nice to heat over the leftovers from P.F. Changs. It was a bit pricey, but I enjoyed everything.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating . We booked 3 rooms for our family of 8. And we were just doing a quick stay, 12 hours because we were leaving early for our flight home out of SJO. Because we were leaving so early in the morning (5am) we were going to miss the free breakfast that was included with our stay. They packed 8 to go breakfast/lunches for us to pick up at the counter on our way to our shuttle. We were very pleased.

I wish we would have known ahead of time that laundry facilities were available at no charge, some of us had our laundry done at a hotel we stayed at immediately prior to staying here.

All was great except the room I booked was not available upon arrival. Because I booked on Booking.com our reservation was bumped for a Marriot booking. We reserved a two bedroom suite and ended up with two separate rooms. We had no advanced noticed and felt stuck. Stayed anyway. Was a good experience but reservations should be honored based on when booked, not if it was a Marriot website booking.

Very accommodating and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Very comfortable. Great location.
