The hotel and the room were both clean, well-designed and with cute decorative touches. We appreciated the large list of suggestions we found of what to do and where to eat. The room was also cool thanks to the A/C. Our bed was a large king-size which was perfect for us. Our room faced the street so there was some street noise, but the A/C drowned that out quite well. The property is in a great location to drive downtown or to Sleeping Bear Dunes. The property is directly on a private beach with plenty of chairs available, despite us visiting during the high season.

The shower pressure wasn't the greatest, but there were no issues with the temperature. Even though we didn't hear a lot of noise from neighboring rooms we could hear footsteps on the floors above us quite well. The price is steep (even excluding breakfast) and the room was missing some things we had expected to be included in the price, like bottles of water (there was a vending machine but the water wasn't free) and flip-flops to use when going to the beach. A bathrobe was provided however.

The entire experience was exceptional! Attention to the smallest detail, knowledgeable and accommodating staff, every surface of our rooms and the common spaces was clean(and maintained) for the duration of our stay! Incredible views and seating indoors and outdoors to enjoy the best of both worlds. The vibe and design of the Alexandra Inn felt like P-Town or Newport, RI. Our commitments for the week and the weather didn’t allow for us to utilize the on-site bicycles but we’ll be sure to try again next time! Worth noting, the front desk staff saved the day on a couple of occasions! If we needed help, in or out of the venue, they were on it!

No downside to the Alexandra Inn

Everything was exceptional! Very nice...clean and homey feel! Our room was perfect and the view was beautiful! It was our 25th anniversary and that day two swans hung out right in front of us...💘 Staff was friendly and helpful and made you feel at home with door opening for you when you arrive to the 7pm fresh baked cookies every night! Thank you Alexandria Hotel for making our anniversary a special one!

Only problem we had was operation of the TV remote

This was the cutest boutique hotel! The staff was so friendly every time we walked by, often opening the front door for us as we came and went. The location was actually perfect, close to downtown and restaurants by car and the private beach was such a treat! There were fresh chocolate chip cookies every night at 7 pm and a nice coffee and tea selection. It rained one of the days we stayed here but there were umbrellas we could use in the lobby. It’s truly the little things that can make or break a stay and Alexandra Inn got it so right with every little thing! It was the cleanest hotel we’ve ever stayed at. My husband and I went for our honeymoon and we already can’t wait to come back!

The restaurant was gorgeous, and the food was divine. The menu was short and easy to choose from. The views from the balcony were amazing. Rooms were cozy and efficient for everything you'd need on a weekend getaway. They had homemade cookies every night and hot cocoa to pair. They were delicious and perfect for chili spring nights.

The parking is terrible! Pulling into the lot off of a busy 31 highway is dangerous. They have a giant sign in the middle, and you have to be careful not to get rear-ended while almost coming to a complete stop turning in. The staff put a room with children above us (we were on the 3rd floor of 4), so the morning was full of little feet running and stomping around. It could bother someone trying to sleep in, but the place is just not very soundproof.

Everything was very clean, and the staff was friendly. Parking is limited, but we never had an issue getting a spot. The weather didn't cooperate, so we did not get to use the beach, but the view was lovely. I did walk down to the water, and they had a setup to rinse off your feet when walking back up the stairs, which was very thoughtful and convenient. The property was quiet and relaxing the whole weekend, despite the fact that it was the Cherry Festival kickoff.

The price was a bit high, but it was Traverse City at Cherry Festival, so expected.

The staff were super kind, welcoming and attentive. We loved being right on the beach and having a lake view room. The view/ambiance at Blush restaurant was gorgeous. The bed/pillows were comfortable. The decor was pretty and the room was quiet and comfortable.

Two minor suggestions: 1) TV adjustments -we were disappointed that we could not stream tv (only cable) and the basic remote was a pain to click through the channels instead of punching in a channel number. 2) Offer more/different food options, especially gluten free and/or vegetarian.

Tasty food at Blush, loved the view and experience! Good value, absolutely beautiful place. We had a wonderful time and will recommend to friends🏅

The chaise loungers on beach uncomfortable. Need cushions or more comfortable loungers altogether. The guy with rake on tractor was flying around very close to guests on beach and seemed oblivious just focused on getting it done although presented danger to guests using the beach they paid for. Should be done early morning not 10:30am on sunny day

Very clean room. Right on Traverse Bay with a beautiful sandy beach. and great views. Easy to locate and accessible to many eateries. Not far from downtown Traverse City with many attractions as well as the old Insane Asylum.

Rooms are not sound proof and could hear noise from the adjacent room (footsteps and talking). Upon leaving front desk staff took our keys but didn't inquire how our stay was or even minimally thank us for staying. Did really feel like a valued guest.

Location was great; fire table on beach to gather around & enjoy conversation with friendly people. All rooms view the lake. Modern, luxury level of toiletries, towels, robes, small microwave & mini Keurig in rm; material in about the area to explore in a well done portfolio.

Rooftop bar was not open the night we stayed. Tiny gift shop, vending machines & ice are available. Staff were excellent & friendly; opened front door remotely for me when I was loading/unloading our vehicle.
