Location (though quite hilly), breakfast (including delicious croissants), the branded touches, the style of room and building. Loved staying here, super cute and cosy and felt like home
Car parking though I got a spot was super tight, especially with a 7-seater. Toilet wouldnt flush properly.... not great when sharing with colleagues. Tap was dripping (but that was just more from a waste point of view) I cannot express enough how shocking the beds were. It was such a disappointment and I did not sleep for 3 nights. They are so flimsy. If you sit on one side of the bed, or worse, roll over to it the middle of the night (like I do all the time with my chronic back pain) it feels like it's about the flip over. I was not impressed at all and really suffered in them. If the beds were not as poor as they were, this place would have got a 10 from despite the other minor things.

5 min to harbour and city centre and 5min to Skyline. We had a wonderful stay for 3 nights. The views from the balcony are stunning with autumn colours on the mountain and lake view too. The property is very well maintained, all amenities provided and staff very friendly and helpful. There is limited parking at the property, but you can park on the street or nearby Lakeview Carpark.
Bathroom had a tub come shower that was quite slippery but non-slip mat was provided.

Room, view, location.
Kyle. He recommended Lone Star as a restaurant because we are American and it was objectively terrible. His other recommendations were generally bad or biased. He said Fergberger had deteriorated and we had just had a lovely meal there. Bella Cucina--ehh not as good as he said. It was odd. It's like he was purposely steering us towards bad restaurants. The negativity was off putting, especially disparaging Auklanders. He also said the yellow jet boats were the best. Maybe they are, maybe it's because the hotel has a discount deal. Coffee was awful. That can't compete with local options at all.

Loved the quiet location and big spacious room, ease of check-in, and comfortable for a few days of activities in Queenstown! Great value for money, and we had a fantastic view. It’s nice that there is also a communal living room with fireplace so you don’t always have to spend time in your room.
The only thing we didn’t love was having super soft beds, but they were still ok to sleep on.

Very authentic, characterful property in the heart of Queenstown, 5 minutes from the centre but in a quiet setting with a lovely courtyard. Beautifully presented and with the wonderful sound of birdsong. Fantastic views of the Remarkables mountain range as well as the harbour area and lake. Highly recommend. Much better than any bog standard hotel accommodation in most of the city. Very friendly staff.

The location was perfect for accessing the town, restaurants and other facilities, although the hill walking is a killer :) The hotel is very quiet, extremely clean and warm (we stayed in winter) with the best views in Queenstown. Beautiful lounge and dining room. The Managers went out of their way to make us welcome.
The continental breakfast was very pricy, so we opted to eat out.

Location is really excellent. It was an extremely comfortable room with many little extras that you don't always get. Great tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Both bedroom and bathroom were a great size. It had lovely double doors out to a little balcony. Manager was very accommodating with storing luggage etc, and helpful recommendations of things to do in Queenstown and where to eat.
Decor was a little dated for my taste but if you like traditional style accommodation this is perfect.

Location was perfect easy walk to town centre - Peter Ray was very welcoming and helpful - we arrived early and had a full day planned so he gave us the key early so we didn’t need to worry as we arrived back quite late

I stayed with my daughter for 1 night before travelling back to the UK. We were greeted and made welcome. The room was great and had a good selection of tea/coffee etc. We did not have breakfast as we had to be out early. The staff were very helpful and allowed us to park at the premises for the day which was great. I can recommend staying here.
