County style venue in old Oast House, with a a variety of rooms available. Friendly staff at this lovely venue. Great food ( Recommend a look , at the specials board ) ~ Selection for breakfast was Great. About a 25 minute dawdle into town ( footpath all the way in ) Room , was clean, tidy and we had two good nights there. Plenty of parking.

Difficult to find anything to criticise. Only small thing was that , unfortunately the one real ale they have on pump was not available.

the shower could do with some attention, the control tap was very stiff and the whole shower cubicle needs updating. i think the £162 we paid is the very highest they could have charged for this room, it would be a true reflection of the price if these few things were attended to.

This is a beautiful hotel in a quiet setting on the edge of the village. It is walking distance from the centre of Rye. The staff (there are only 3 that we could see) were hugely helpful, hardworking and kind. The rooms were all together and one had a garden where we celebrated a family birthday. The breakfast was delicious.

The bathroom facilities (shower) could do with an update but they worked and there was plenty of hot water.

Room, Staff, and Comfort, and atmosphere - Upon arriving at this very delightful establishment we met Beth who was attending the bar, we ordered a drink and booked into our room.. Amazing to see the rooms in this extremely well maintained, clean and cosy venue.. We also met Kim the owner of Playden Oasts.. Enchanted us with the history of this beautiful place.. Our experience was Superb... ! A marvellous Place to visit...

the meal in the restaurant in the evening was very good and the waitress was very friendly, and the room was very comfy

The fried breakfast was a bit disappointing ie not very generous , no toast offered , waitress was not very engaging, did not tell us to help ourselves to cereal etc no offer of more tea/coffee .

We ate dinner one evening at the hotel and it was very good, we also had breakfast every morning and that was very good. We were very well looked after.

Just a little thing that crossed my mind while there and that was it would have been nice to have the carpet from the bedroom carried through to the toilet, but I can understand why it wasn’t. It’s an old building and the floor was really cold. I know carpeting is not a good idea in toilet areas.

Stayed in one of the king round room in the main oast house, was so cute! Loved the Juliette style balcony. Location was excellent for our needs, a nice casual walk into Rye with a couple of pubs to stop in on the way. Bed was comfortable, room was quiet and dark. Ample parking, nice little bar and a good cooked breakfast.

Some issues with shower, needs a bit of an upgrade but was fine for a two night stay.

The room was lovely and very comfortable. A great sized, comfortable bed with tea/coffee available. The bath was a great added luxury. Kim, our host, was very welcoming, and we had a delicious roast dinner the evening of our stay. Breakfast was great, a fantastic addition to the stay, and again, the ladies looked after us really well. The folder of local information, including walks, was a great help, and we enjoyed a short walk into town.

Nothing the room, stay, and staff were all brilliant.

Unique property. Nice restaurant with great food choice and decent portions. Reasonable pricing too. Hard working staff. Good attention to detail with rooms containing individual bottles of water, tissues, toiletries, tea, coffee, biscuits and kettle. Ironing board, iron and fan. Suggestion: provide the staff with a simple uniform. Black trousers and polo shirt with hotel name would add an additional element to the service.

The website does explain that dogs are welcome in some rooms. Unfortunately they were barking quite a lot which was disturbing other customers.

Great communication before arrival. Staff generally very friendly and helpful. Beautiful place. Great food. Including generous breakfast.

The bed was a bit soft for our liking, and the shower was warm but very weak flow. The breakfast was problematic on the day we were there, but the staff did their best to get everything moving. We were surprised to find that the bar was closing when we got back before 11 pm.
