Great location and great set up for solo travellers. Walking distance to everywhere including some excellent places to eat - not that there's much to see or do in Gosford itself. Was a bit anxious about the shared facilities on booking but these were first rate - newly renovated by the look of them. Shower and toilet combo with lots of room in a lockable room. Four of these were on the floor I was staying on. I didn't have to wait to use one at any stage. Lots of additional towels provided in the bathrooms. I chose the location for its access to the train station and Riverboat Postman cruise on the Hawkesbury - it's around a 30 minute train trip to get there which was ideal.

Lift (which is as old as the hotel ie nearly 100!) was being temperamental when I was there which was a bit of a nuisance at times. A glass of some kind in the room would have been handy. I was warned about noise from the disco on Fri and Sat nights - earplugs were provided in the room which I didn't use because I had brought my own. I didn't find this a problem but found the noise from the air conditioning system which obviously has been installed as an 'add on' a bit annoying.

Heritage building ... rooms were well appointed! Very clean, really good shared bathrooms (posh!). The food and vibes in the dining area were beyond expectations, and "the kids" partied in the disco into the (Saturday) night. I was warned... however, the kids were having a great time(!!). The earplugs supplied in. my room were a nice touch. The next night was very peaceful...

Take note: It's 4 flights of stairs up to the top floor (the heritage lift wasn't cooperating)... good exercise but may bother some people.

Great location, good sized rooms, comfortable bed, fridge in room useful and good tea and coffee facilities. Food, judging from the previous reviews, has clearly improved, I got some simple food as ordered late and it was very tasty.

No individual control for the air con- room got quite warm at times and it didn’t get any cooler. Room was generally clean - minor bits could have been cleaner. Shared bathrooms- although staff kept on top of these incredibly well and 95% of the time they were very clean, only late at night once did I see them in a mess. Modern and good showers.

The room was very clean, beds comfortable, so helpful having the sink in the room as it was a shared bathroom option. Loved the specialty tea and filter coffee selections. The bathrooms were gorgeous - very luxurious with lovely products to use. Cannot rate the staff highly enough - bar staff were so friendly and nice. The GM Scott also carried our bags to store while we sorted out our parking spot. Restaurant was very good, food excellent and wellpriced. We loved the original lift !! It is great little gem in Gosford. So well located and a lovely vibe there. Thanks !!

The staff were very friendly even the cleaner were when I left. The bathroom were renovated very modern clean there were extra towels and bathrooms in the bathroom. Shampoo conditioner and body wash supplied in the bathroom. The bedroom was small yet comfortable with a kettle sink tea coffee cups. The bed was the right size long slept well as I am tall the bed fitted perfectly.gad hood rules no drugs no noise allowed which was great. Happy to pay a deposit to stay there .get refund there.

The best groom floor was wet in one of the bathroom . Close to train could possibly hear the train

The hotel is almost 100 years old and has some original features (and lots of renovations), including timber paneling and a temperamental old lift (elevator) with concertina wrought iron inner door and controlled by the room key. The room is airy, supplied with a slightly larger fridge than standard and spacious en suite. A security door on the first floor is good sound proofing from the entertainment areas as well as only permitting overnight guests past the wining and dining part of the business. Off street parking is available in a gated carpark. Staff were friendly and obliging. The key deposit ($100) was refunded almost instantly on return of the key.

The room was quite small with a small double bed and one chair plus the fridge and a hanging frame for clothes and only enough spare space for walking around the bed. On the side of the corridor we were on (on the fourth floor, room 305) our window opened over the entertainment area roof with a large industrial air conditioning unit on it which made quite a bit of noise, 24/7 although the heavy curtains in the bedroom muffled the sound considerably.

A great pub that had a great vibe The staff were very friendly and the beer was cold . The food was delicious and our room was very good and the beds were comfortable The updated bathrooms were first class Onsite parking was great and we were lucky enough to be there when the owner Peter Harris was there after his “ hard “ day playing golf. The staff are worth their weight in gold. They were magnificent. I enjoyed my seniors evening meal, too. At first the bathroom deal was daunting, but soon overcame that problem. I was well :looked after" by Management as well as House Staff. All were courteous as well as going the second mile.

The room, beds, pretty much everything was well presented, clean and visually beautiful. The staff with whom we came into contact with were exemplary in their customer service and made us feel welcome and genuinely there to help us in any way we required.

The air-conditioning failed, and leaked to the point it couldn't be used. After making admin aware of this, we were assured it would be fixed ASAP. It wasn't. We stayed two nights (not one, as is stated here) without air-conditioning.

Good facilities. Newly & stylishly updated bathrooms and toilets to share in a historic l building have a very classical elevator. The room was nice , the food was nice too.

I couldn't find the car park, the staff recommended parking on the street-which I will need to pay. For the staying guests, they should have a better option than suggesting parking on the street. In front of my room had bins, I could smell something rotten every time I was in, and out. The room was a bit cold and extremely noisy-a couple of hours, some metallic sound from the street, and all the bottles clinking been emptied, etc. I barely slept.
