The room was beautiful, with a European feel. The staff is amazing! Every day, our room was turned over - the room was cleaned, the beds made, and the bathroom sanitized with fresh towels. We had the park on Commonwealth Ave. right in front of the hotel, which I loved. It was an oasis in the middle of a VERY BUSY Memorial Day weekend. The beds are so comfortable that despite all the walking I did during the convention, I came away well-rested. Loved the pillows!
The hotel is situated in the heart of Back Bay, so the view was not stellar, especially with all the buildings stacked on top of one another, most of which are over 100 years old. The bathrooms need better ventilation, and the showers need more water pressure.

The hotel was lovely! The staff was superb! The location suited our needs perfectly.
The only issue we had was the smoke detector went off around 3am and didn’t stop. The person who answered the phone at the front desk was new & had no idea what to do. My husband finally managed to get it to stop temporarily. We told them in the morning what happened and asked if they could change the battery while we were out. We got into bed that night and it started again! We had two staffers in our room on a chair, trying to change the battery. They were as nice as could be about the entire thing. It was just a shame that our 2 night stay in this beautiful hotel didn’t allow us a solid night’s sleep either night due to a malfunctioning smoke detector. They did end up comping us our parking fees to make up for it.

This place is amazing! They upgraded us to a suite so we had a living room with a pullout sofa (so the kids didn’t have to share a bed). Gorgeous space with an actual doorman and bellhop. Way nicer than our usual spots and we booked early enough that the price was the same as a chain hotel. It’s about a 12-15 minute walk to Fenway, two blocks to the Haynes Convention Center T stop.
My only complaint was that the shower stall is very narrow which was a challenge for a plus size person. There wasn’t a real fridge in the room, just the minibar fridge.

Staff were excellent and very accomodating. Room 704 is double aspect with great views. Bed and pillows are very comfortable. Visited Boston for husbands birthday. The trip was great, made even better by our stay at The Eliot. Fantastic location. Buffet breakfast very much recommended as is the Japsnese restaurant attached to the hotel. Complimentary cookies on arrival were lovely.
Nothing we didn't like. The only minor point is that the only bar is attached to the restaurant, which gets full, and there is limited seating at the bar.

A beautiful boutique hotel in a lovely and peaceful location. Although the price is quite high — perhaps even too high for what is offered — I sincerely hope it will be reviewed in the future. That said, the experience was warm and comforting, and it truly felt like home. The front desk staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming, especially Mai and Yu (I hope I spelled their names correctly). These two ladies were absolutely wonderful and made my stay feel extra special.
The price is very high, and I truly hope it will be reviewed.

our room was excellent very spacious and comfortable. The level of cleaning and servicing of the room was excellent, We were provided with a turn down service where bottled water, replenishment of the coffee/teas and towels where necessary were replaced. The front of house staff both at reception desk, doormen, baggage etc were extremely friendly and welcoming and during the rain large umbrella's were supplied ot keep residents dry - fabulous. i will certainly return again
I can honestly say there was nothing about the hotel we didn't like. People may not like the fact that the lobby was quite small ( very small seating area) but i didn't feel this was necessary. There was excellent restroom and seating downstairs if you needed it.

Loved the hotel’s location anchored at one end of Back Bay and access to the riverfront, the doormen (he’s on the website!), the tasteful decor (without too much outdated stuffiness). The staff was polished and friendly, and loved being able to check in and out electronically (though they are very serious - though polite - about making sure you’re aware of the checkout time! ;-). Just remember that it’s an older hotel, so we could hear the young family next door with the boisterous young boys. But in general, we didn’t hear much during our visit.

Quiet and quaint. We were upgraded to a living room suite, which was a nice touch. The rooms were clean and decorated very well. Everyone was friendly and engaging. We even saw one of the doormen running to retrieve a valeted vehicle and he recognized us a one of the guests and said hello on his way. Great location for walking to Fenway.
The bathroom was the downfall, small and tight. I can imagine anyone over 6 ft tall would have major issues with the toilet position. I am 5 11 and it was a bit of a challenge to say the least. We had a couple of moolandings as well with the side wall after getting out of the shower.
