We spent 3 days at the Corner House Hotel. On the second day my wife became very unwell, but the staff were very helpful. In particular, a young lady of the staff, Asha (hopefully the correct spelling), was extremely understanding and supportive in what had become a very worrying situation. We felt reassured by the help of the staff and were able to complete our stay more serenely. In addition, the breakfast, dinner and parking on site were all very much appreciated. I have no hesitation in recommending the hotel and will certainly return there next time we are in Taunton.

Restaurant service very good. We had a family funeral afternoon tea for 35 persons here, which went very well. The bar and restaurant areas were very attractive in that there were smaller 'cosier' areas to sit in. And we (and our guests) loved the design of the wine-box tables!

The fact that our sash window looked out on to busy traffic crossroads, and the room had no air conditioning, so we had the choice of fresh air and noise, or no noise but too warm. There was only one chair to sit on, and its seat had a couple of splits in its cover (Room 33) The restaurant chairs are perhaps a couple of centimetres too low for the tables?

On arrival, a warm welcome, within a calming environment. The staff rearranged rooms for a disabled individual at short notice in a very professional and caring manner. In fact, nothing was too much trouble, including small touches like miniature bottles of fresh milk in the room fridge, as well as individual fresh fruit served in individual kilner jars, in a mini fridge for breakfast. Very clean and comfortable environment. 👌 Highly recommend 👌

Nothing. Ensure tables are booked for meals, as the food and environment are very popular.

Double room single occupancy was small, but very comfortable with everything you need. Breakfast was freshly cooked along with a good cold buffet service. Sunday Dinner in the restaurant was excellent with good bar and wine service. ALL the staff were cheerful, helpful and efficient.

Getting in and out of shower over the bath was a bit tricky and might be difficult for those with mobility issues. Its hard to close the bedroom doors quietly, so you had a chorus of banging doors in the morning if you wanted to sleep in!

The room was spacious and clean with a nice walk in shower and separate toilet and washbasin, fridge and tea and coffee facilities. The bed was huge and very, very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice of cereals and fruit, tea, coffee and the cooked choice was also very good. We were visiting family in the area so didn't have an evening meal in the hotel.

Our only criticism is the lack of a comfortable lounge. All the furniture in the bar, public lounge and dining room is solid wood. This is OK for eating a meal, but afterwards it would have been nice to relax in a comfy chair.

Pleasant double room ideally suited for one person Fridge with fresh milk was a nice touch Very hot water to sink & bath with easy to use taps Very efficient heating (conversely it was too hot for me!) Comfortable bed

Long walk to room on 2nd floor (28) No lift. Receptionist didn't bother to give any directions to the room, nor offer any help with luggage Bathroom was very cramped, but otherwise well appointed. Paintwork under sink looked steam/water damaged though and needed attention When I showered it was difficult to regulate the water temperature with the mixer taps - either too cold, or scalding hot! There was a hair in the bath and it had a visible tide mark so hadn't been cleaned properly Pillows were too high for me, with no thinner alternative

Room was large and bright. Bed very comfortable. Shower was good with hot water. Being in the annexe was quieter than being in the main building.. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was fine, good choice on offer, catered for my intolerances. Car parking on site at very reasonable rates.

There was a table in the garden very close to our room which was occupied late into the night which made it loud, but that's not the hotels fault. Would have been nice to have some drawer space.

The room was perfect for me as a solo traveller. Staff were very friendly. The food was tasty, also excellent value. I ate the fixed price menu £19 for 2 courses. Breakfast was good, but im not a big fan of having to order what the night before. I probably ordered more than l would have ordered in the morning.

The room was very warm, there was a fan, but it was a bit loud. However, it was a very warm night, and my room was in top of the hotel. So I'm not sure there was anything else hotel could have done

The food was excellent particularly the dinners. And the fixed price 2-course dinner had a good range of options. The bed was large and comfortable. The staff were all very good, particularly the women who checked in guests, served in the bar and dining room.

It was difficult to get an even temperature in the shower. And twice one morning the shower temperature suddenly increased significantly and I had to jump out of the reach of the spray. I wondered whether someone in the room above mine had used their shower and taken away the cold water in my room.

It’s a lovely building with a lot of history. Rooms were clean and comfortable. There was a small bottle of milk in the fridge for the tea and coffee in the room. We had dinner in the restaurant on the Sunday and the food was plentiful and cooked really nice

The lack of drawers for putting clothes in. The wardrobe was an open shelf style with short hanging space so no good for long items of clothing such as trousers and long dresses. In the bathroom it lacked a shelf for toiletries. The toiletries they supply are in large bottles fixed to the wall and container the same soap at the sink and in the shower, so only for body wash.
