Loved this apartment. Beautiful views and amazing price. Easy key safe check in, basement carparking (access could be a bit low for some cars) and clean, renovated spaces.

At the time of booking I wasn't made aware it was not in the Bay Motel development, but instead further down the road - still opposite the beach but definitely a distance so I wasn't able to let the kids walk home by themselves in the evening. The building the apartment was in is in a bad state and had no working lighting in the stairwells or the carpark area we were in.

The bed was SO comfy! The location was perfect right on the beach and all the shops are so close! The staff was so friendly and accommodating! The room was so spacious for a motel and we had everything we needed.

In pictures it looks like every room has a balcony but we had a room in the car park with no balcony and a few windows so we felt a little isolated but apart from that we only stayed 2 nights while travelling the east coast and it has the comfiest beds.

The apartment was so comfortable and clean, just as stated and shown in the photos. We had an issue with the washing machine, and the manager arrived very promptly after I phoned and sorted it for us.

The only complaint is that, nowhere on the site does it state it is not at the Bay Motel complex but further out of town. We booked it due to the close proximity to the beach but also the town center - shops, restaurants and bars. The second bedroom is very small.

We ended up getting the penthouse after a mix up with the rooms, for the value of money one would have expected the penthouse to be a tiny bit more updated kitchen and bathroom. The rooms, kitchen and bathroom were overall clean, but you were really struggling to have a good view of the beach if you didn’t have the windows open as they needed cleaning. The reception staff were very friendly and accomodating.

Right across the beach

The hotel's proximity to the beach is unbeatable—it's just a stone's throw away, making it incredibly convenient for beach lovers. Additionally, the security measures, such as locking the gates at night, provide peace of mind for guests concerned about safety.

However, one notable drawback is the lack of a kitchen sink, making it inconvenient for guests who wish to wash fruits. While washing produce in the bathroom may not be ideal, it's a compromise that some may find acceptable given the proximity to the beach.

The staff were amazing. We stayed for Bluesfest and they helped with bus information. They even got our room ready early so we could attend the opening session. The location is truly amazing, directly across from the beach.

Parking is super tight and if we were in a bigger car or SUV, it would be near impossible. The room was super clean but also super basic. This is nothing fancy but very acceptable. There was a bit of noise from the nearby bar but it wasn't too crazy.

The motel is in an excellent location. However, if you’re driving, it’s best to arrive as early as possible so you get a car space. If it’s not too much to ask, I would suggest the motel might request the owners of the building opposite in the back lane get their garage door’s mechanisms oiled as it’s exceedingly noisy first thing in the morning.

Smack bang opposite the main beach and close to all the restaurants the location was perfect.The managers were friendly and cleaning staff obliging and cheerful. The room itself was spacious with all we needed.Bed was quite comfortable as was the sofa. Super clean. Parking was tight with some cars sticking out so it was sometimes precision driving. Most of the night it was lovely and quiet.

Every morning early the councils emptied bins and it made a horrendous noise accompanied by the lorikeets screeching. But these are not the fault of the motel; we just went to bed a little early to compensate!

Location fantastic

Mould in grout in shower and bathroom as a whole and air conditioner. Cleaner attended but mould is a serious problem that surface cleaning will not remove. All units below the top units should have complimentary ear plugs as upstairs stayers could be heard until just after midnight.

Fantastic location opposite the surf club and Bondi main beach. I love these old style motels that have been renovated and provide onsite parking which is an absolute bonus as there is paid parking everywhere in Byron Bay. We arrived after hours and the check in process was well communicated and easy to follow.

Bright exterior lights left on all night. Possibly for security reasons. Black out curtains would be a good idea.
