The hotel was in an excellent position for restaurants s shopping and sights. The staff were lovely and especially the manager Jack. They were all so helpful and accommodating. It seems that they will have a rooftop swimming pool opening soon which will make a big difference. The services that we used in the spa were very good. Excellent foot massages.

Well this is really only a 2 * hotel and there is NO. Swimming pool at the moment The breakfast was fairly ordinary, there wasn’t too much variety. We did eat in the restaurant one night and although the food was tasty there was little ambience as there was only one other table occupied. The rooms and bathrooms are much smaller than the photos make them appear. Plus the internal rooms were dark and claustrophobic. Fortunately we booked the street view rooms which were quiet with double glazing. There were no nice soaps creams or shampoos in the bathroom and the towels were very tired and grey looking.

Very clean, very new, and the service was really good!! The ladies at the reception/customer service were very helpful and they gave recommendations on all the tourist attractions we should visit, the best restaurants in town, they helped to arrange our halong bay trip (which made it much much more convenient for us), and personally they recommended some local fashion brands so it was very useful to us shopaholics!!!! All the staff were very friendly and welcoming to us, and they really made us feel like we were at home 😍 also, the location of the hotel is really convenient and it is right beside St Joseph Cathedral. Thbreakfast and in room dining were all wonderful as well. thank you Grand Hotel du LAC Hanoi for this wonderful stay ❤️we really enjoyed the many chats that we have had with you guys :) Oh one more thing is that there is a really good massage parlour right below the hotel, so it was great if we wanted to relax our body after a long long day of walking!

The hotel was perfect for our short stay in Hanoi. Great location right next to St Joseph’s cathedral and walking distance to most major tourist attractions in the area. From arriving at the hotel, the staff couldn’t do more for you; particularly Mia who went above and beyond with recommendations and sharing via WhatsApp. The included breakfast was the best we have had in Vietnam, so fresh with so many options for all. Super comfy bed and amenities in the room. Would 100% recommend.

I loved my stay at the Grand Hotel du Lac. Everyone of the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast every day was really very good with many items made to order and the juices were fresh. It is situated right in the Old Quarter next to the church. Close enough to walk everywhere but far enough away from the bars to be quiet. The roof terrace was nice for a drink before going out and happy hour was especially welcome! As a solo female traveller I’d highly recommend it.

The basic rooms are inner courtyard facing which means no natural light and the windows are actually papered over with something so there’s not only no view but also genuinely no natural light. The lighting in the room and bathroom was good for general use but not great for trying to put on make-up or (for men) shaving.

Upon arrival one of the staff members (Mia) was exceptional and assisted me with great recommendations throughout Hanoi for places to visit and food to try (which I loved)! Mia stayed connected with me and answered any questions I had throughout my stay in Hanoi which was incredibly helpful. Mia also assisted in organising a fantastic Ha Long Bay cruise for me which was certainly a highlight. Ultimately, Grand Hotel notably Mia went over and above to ensure my stay in Hanoi was perfect. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Hanoi to stay.

Wonderful boutique 5 star Hotel with amazing and friendly service. Decor was very upmarket with plush touches throughout. Great breakfast with good selection. Loved the outside verandah at the front of the Hotel and the rooftop bar Ozone was one of our favourite places to be every afternoon. They even kept and transferred our main luggage for us whilst we were in Sapa.

3 very minor issues - Would like more than 2 bottles of water in the room and entry/exit to bathroom is hampered by the privacy doors. Room were very nice & modern but but a little on the small side. These things were so minor, it did not negatively impacted our stay whatsoever.

The hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Hanoi, making it incredibly convenient to explore popular attractions. Despite being centrally located, the hotel provides a peaceful retreat from the bustling streets. The rooms was impeccably clean and tastefully decorated. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the thoughtful amenities including a welcome fruit platter added a lovely touch. Sofia (customer service manager) and her team (Grace and many others) made sure we were well looked after. Sofia and her team were super friendly and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was flawless. They genuine hospitality made me feel so welcomed.

I had a great vacation and truly enjoyed my stay at the hotel.

The best hotel in Hanoi, in my opinion: - its location in the heart of Hanoi's historic district and a stone's throw from Hoankiem Lake - the room is super clean, luxurious and the bedding very comfortable - service is undoubtedly the hotel's biggest positive point. All the staff are dedicated to customer service. All my requests were met: transport, organized tours, meals, ironing etc. - special thanks to Mia, the best hotel manager in the world 🥰

The rooms were modern and well equipped. Good AC temperature control, a large screen smart TV, tea coffee making facilities and a decent hair dryer. As a lot of other reviews have stated - the hospitality from the hotel staff were amazing and a big highlight of our stay. Manager Ken and the front reception team made us feel at home every time we came back to the hotel - we were well attended. Special thanks to Ken and all the help he provided - your hospitality on the first night we met was what made us want to come and stay at the hotel. Hannah and the restaurant team were very friendly and accommodated us with some dietary requests. The team at Ozone Bar also accommodated us at the end of what was a very busy night and I also had some friendly banter with them - I really appreciate this. There were many who took the time to chat with us - thank you all, we can't mention each of your names. The hospitality of the staff made the hotel special and made us sad to leave. One moment that particularly stood out was when we had an excursion to Halong Bay and faced language barriers in coordinating with our driver. The hotel team took care of communicating with him directly to ensure we knew exactly where to meet. They even brought our luggage to the meeting point, making everything seamless and stress-free. This level of care and attention is something we’ve never experienced at any other hotel.
