Ideal location just outside the city wall, a couple of minutes walk from the heart of all you'd want to see. The house is full of history and character in many ways. Our room was very clean and kept to a high standard throughout our stay. Comfortable beds, which is always a good thing when you've been on your feet all day taking in the sites.

If you're staying more than a couple of days you might find breakfast a little repetitive as it's virtually the same every day. Having said that, it is a lovely breakfast of fresh breads, fruit, cold meats and eggs. We stayed in the room that I think was over the kitchen; at first I thought there was drilling happening early, 6ish, every day. We later thought it was part of breakfast being prepared - maybe oranges being juiced?

Nice location right outside of the historic old city- just a 5-minute walk over the railroad bridge and you are at the front gate of Lucca. Room is kept in the older original state, but upkeep is good. Very nice garden in the back that you look at during breakfast. Price was a little high for the amenities. Luckily, there was one available parking place for us, as you are on a busy street outside. A/C in room was very nice during the summer heat wave we experienced.

Higher price than some other properties. Location to the busy street, as you literally stepped into the bike lane when exiting the front door.

Francesco was very helpful in indicating that we could leave the car and our suitcases at the hotel before our room was ready. It was easy to find and Francesco helped us park the car. We were happy with our room which was spacious; unfortunately we had little time to enjoy the balcony. We did not spend a lot of time in the main part of the hotel, although our breakfast was very good and it was nice to talk to Giovanna before we left for the airport.

The owners and staff very really good. We had a big room with a balcony which was nice looking out on the garden. Great shower and lots hot water. Huge breakfasts, they keep bringing out food! 5 min walk from station and 5 min over rail bridge to the Old city. The front door is right on the road, so you have to watch for cars and bikes when stepping out onto the street.

Breakfast was brilliant. It was a proper, not a packaged breakfast; eggs, prosciutto, yoghurt, croissant and more. The location couldn’t be bettered. You just had to cross a bridge over the railway and you were outside St Pietro gate. The room was really cool (August , 36 degrees). And it was a lovely spacious room overlooking the garden with a huge bathroom. And, we could easily park outside.

There was nothing we didn’t like. Maybe a fridge in the room, but that’s a minor quibble.

Warmth and friendliness of hosts Giovanna and Francesco; cleanliness of facilities; location; beautiful yard; well-kept eighteenth century house with rich personality; fresh and delicious breakfasts; an extremely pleasant experience altogether.

Definitely nothing to complain about.

My wife Christine and I have always wanted to visit Lucca and this property was on our list after reading other peoples reviews and we were not disappointed. We were made welcome by Francesco and Giovanna into their family home, a beautiful old villa full of charm and lovingly cared for. The exceptional breakfast of so many choices was a lovely surprise, all served to us in the lovely garden room.

There is nothing to dislike about the property.

Absolutely beautiful B&B in a location close by Lucca train station. Francesco was very friendly and welcoming and allowed us to leave our luggage there after check out. Our room was upgraded and we had a beautiful balcony. The bed was super comfy with great sheets and pillows, and the shower was exceptional… the breakfast prepared by Giovanna was absolutely delicious, we couldn’t recommend this B&B more highly!

Location is excellent, just outside of a city gate. Breakfast was ample and made fresh. parking was adequate; they have three spaces. The view outside is of neat landscaping with fruit trees. It was quiet. We wanted to sleep with the window open but with no screens, we were concerned about mosquitoes.

Nothing. Lucca is an enjoyable destination.

We stayed for 7 nights Giovanna, Francesco and all the staff were so friendly helpful , nothing was too much trouble . They took time to ask us each day what our plans were and gave us lots of tips to make the day and stay our best holiday yet . We will return . Thank you
