A little better than a four-star hotel. With a five-star designation, might expect more, but in terms of price/performance I think it is okay.

The property location was good, 10 mins to city centre. Overall the landscaping around the hotel is fantastic. Lovely to go for walks, or relax by the poolside with a drink. We were upgraded for free drinks. Alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages are offered throughout the day, and poured out by the staff with gusto. The staff were especially nice… eager to assist, and everyone from the receptionist to the staff around the hotel area like pool, children’s area, restaurant were extremely helpful and welcoming.

It’s an old property, so do not expect pristine conditions for the bathrooms. Most of the toilets in and around the hotels show signs of wear and tear, chipped walls etc. we assumed they were clean! The mattress in our room had a dent, which made a rough first night. It was replaced the next day. The mattresses in general are quite hard, but they offered a topper. I am not a fan of a king size bed that comes as joint up version of 2 singles. Something to watch out for, especially if travelling with small children. The food at the restaurant was average. The spread is quite high, but it’s quite bland and repetitive for 5 nights. I’d recommend trying out some local restaurants, even if you choose full board.

Our room was spacious and quiet. The food was very good.

The hotel decor is rather tired and the buffet restaurant is like a canteen.

Nice hotel resort with many recreation faciliites. Clean and well maintained. Very nice personnel.

Breakfast and dinner buffet too crowdy (we never went for liunch). Remote location (but easy access by bus). Hotel offers free bus transfer to Funchal but only 2 times a day.

The staff were very friendly, plenty to drink anytime Most of all, the beautiful tropical plants n flowers within the hotel grounds. Very spacious and clean hotel

Definitely did not like the open plan bathroom, Also did not like two single beds put together, we are used to sleeping in a double bed. It was most uncomfortable. Should we return we will have to request a proper bed.

The pools were great even during winter season, and elevator to access the beach more easily was very convenient to see the sunset. The food was best during meal-times, the snacks in-between were OK, but we are not fans of fried food. During the summer it might be better, as they have an outdoor grill, which was, unfortunately, not working off-season. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

There were bird handlers showing off owls, parrots, eagles, etc., which we found quite odd.

Pool bar , pool .staff. cleanliness.

Shower over bath, old and difficult to adjust. Bath old and repaired, loose hand rail. Cramped and bun fight in reasturant no atmosphere. Limited choice of food. And same most mornings and evenings. .

This property has exceeded our expectations. Everything was perfect. Staff were welcoming and available anytime to help. Shuttle bus is available twice a day. Views from the hotel were stunning and night entertainment was great. Food was amazing with lots of variety and cater all dietary preferences.

The night entertainment could be for later as it finishes by 10

We really liked the location of the property, the friendly and helpful staff, the accommodating reception and managers especially Rosa and Henrique. Everyone made sure we were treated with care and attention during our stay. The restaurant staff and waiters were friendly. There were great hot drinks machines and the hotel was kept clean. My family and I are vegetarian and don’t eat egg, the restaurant catered to our requirements and with notice we had vegan cake, breakfast and meals when asked. The buffet was 10/10 for food choice with plenty of foods for every diet - even if we didn’t request specific food, there was plenty for us to choose from. Thank you

I think the only feedback I have would be that some of the rooms were dated particularly the bathrooms. When we arrived we were originally due to stay in an older part of the hotel where the bathroom was not upgraded. We hadn’t realised this from the hotel photos on the website however the management took on our feedback and upgraded us. We were told the hotel is in the process of being renovated over the year.

This resort was overlooking the ocean. The building was finished in granite and marbles and had loads of European charm. The Portuguese wines served as part of the all inclusive were excellent.

The food was really disappointing. The 4 star designation was not warranted. 2 stars describes the fare. It was worse than a really cheap cruise.
