This hotel was one of two I selected for overnight stops whilst driving from central Italy back to the UK. It has very easy access to and from the main highway. Bissone is a pleasant little town on the southern edge of lake Lugano and Albergo Ristorante La Palma has a terrace right on the shore-line with attractive views. All hotel / restaurant staff were super friendly and helpful and multi-lingual. The restaurant has a good menu and good wines. It is expensive but I wasn't looking to eat elsewhere after a long drive. Metered parking is available off the street directly outside the hotel. My room had a Juliet balcony with views over the lake and the street.

The hotel position right on the shore of Lake Lugano is beautiful and easy to reach from the motorway close by. There is a lovely flat footpath from the hotel into the small town where you can enjoy the spectacular scenery and abundant wildlife. There is also a ferry service nearby where you can take trips to visit other towns around this beautiful lake. The hotel restaurant is in a great location where you can eat outside while watching the sunset. For us vegetarians, there wasn't a great deal of choice on the menu but it was sufficient for our two night stay, however the continental breakfast was very good. The staff were very friendly and most of them spoke several languages including English.

Parking was a bit of a problem - there are no dedicated hotel parking spaces and you have to pay. As the hotel was next to the entrance to the lovely public Lido, the car park was always really busy. I'm guessing it wouldn't be quite so busy at other times of the year.

A hotel is in on lake with the ancient building. Staff is extraordinary especially the lady in reception she waited for us to come and took care of our small dogs and left her parking space in front of hotel. They have fish restaurant on lake terrace, the rooms are quite spatious, clean and comfortable.

Location on the lake was beautiful, quaint little village, excellent breakfast buffet, friendly staff, very good restaurant, comfortable bed

Pricey, aircon in our family room in attic wasnt great, though the views were wonderful. Bathroom is rather dated but adequate

The location of the small hotel was just perfect, right on the edge of the lake. There are a few small bars near the hotel but the hotel has an excellent restaurant, although the restaurant was quite expensive, but maybe just Switzerland prices. The rooms were a tiny bid old fashioned but had character nevertheless.

Not much to not like.

The location is great, right next to the lake and easily accessible from the motorway. We walked across the bridge to Melide and caught the train to Lugano - it was all very convenient. The hotel restaurant is excellent.

Nothing- it was all good. It’s a bit expensive but that’s because it’s in Switzerland.

amazing staff and hotel and the view was so beautiful i had such a lovely stay.

the parking was difficult next to the hotel as it was sunny, so many people wanted to visit the lido near the hotel. would advise to park at the melide station and walk fifteen minutes, if you have driven there.

Wonderful location for our stop over. Staff were friendly and very helpful and the food was very good and to our liking. Wish could have stayed longer but will stop on our next trip through Italy.

Perfectly placed for a nights stopover, just off the motorway and on the lake. The restaurant was excellent and we ate the best risotto we have ever had, albeit quite expensive.

The room was a little old and tired

The location is very nice.. close to the a2 and right at the lake. Small hotel good staff good food...rooms are just what you need .. we stayed for 1 night had dinner and breakfast and were good to continue our journey.

A little pricey for want you get but this is Switzerland and we knew when we booked this.. Rooms are a bit outdated
