I don't think I've ever been greeted by a more cheerful staff team. They were all very keen to help. Pre stay queries were answered promptly. We loved the courtesy car transferring us to and from the station. This is a historic hotel, and we loved knowing that we were there on the 160th anniversary of its opening. The room was a beautiful mix of tradition, such gingham cotton wall covering instead of wallpaper and new, big bath with great toiletries robe and slippers. The courtesy tray was great, with fresh fruit and soft drinks. There was a good selection of hot and cold food and drinks at breakfast.

The bedroom was very hot. It didn't seem to have a/c. A fan was brought up to us quickly but it was still hot all night. Also, the bedroom had a strange odour, similar to a solvent. We wondered if it was related to refurbishment as we were there on the first day of the summer season. There was no facility to make a hot drink in the room.

A fabulous hotel with the most wonderful staff. Big thank you to George and the rest of the staff - so sorry can’t remember your names. From the moment we were picked up from the station to when we were dropped off, we felt truly pampered. The hotel is delightful. Bang in the middle of Zermatt, the hotel has a lovely cafe outside where we had great lunch. Our suite was immaculate: romantic and luxurious with a lovely view of the Matterhorn. You can use the wonderful spa in their sister hotel which was lovely and not many people there early July.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful and historic! Upon checking in, we were upgraded to a suite to celebrate our three-year marriage anniversary. The entire weekend, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and celebrated. The breakfast is also amazing! I cannot get over how good the muesli is. Ever since we got home from Zermatt, I've been trying to recreate it.

Monte Rosa Is an exceptional hotel. Deborah and other staff members go out of their way to help guests. During the registration process Deborah and others provided valuable information about Zermatt. The staff working the breakfasts were extremely helpful and the food was terrific. While The property is older, the facilities have been tastefully updated.

Not a thing. Everything was terrific. Our room was excellent. The staff in all areas went out of their way to be helpful and professional.

The hotel location in the centre, staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was great although it was few types of food. Transportation from the train station to the hotel and vice versa free and you just need to call the hotel. Thanks to 5he staff especially Mr George.

No air conditioning in the hotel 😒 and the disaster when we open the windows, people staying at the bar are shouting most of the night. This bad issue didn't let us have comfortable sleep during our stay. Please resolve this major issue if you want your customers come back and write an excellent review.

Hands down we had the best stay ever!!! When we arrived our room wasn’t ready yet so we returned an hour later and we were greeted by George at the front desk who went above and beyond for us!! He guided us on how to get up to see the Matterhorn. The hotel has a sister property that has a pool and fabulous amenities. George told us all about that opportunity and we took advantage of it after going on the train. We had a drink in the bar before heading to dinner. George told us where we should eat and he was spot on with his recommendation!!! We also wanted to catch some late night live music and he told us where to go. Hands down he was phenomenal!! We will definitely be coming back with our daughter and staying here!!! So so glad we got to experience this hotel. The rooms were awesome too and the breakfast was so so good.

I’m aware of this hotel from I first visited Zermatt in 2002, I’ve always wanted to stay there as it is a beautiful and traditional hotel, historic and where Edward Whymper stayed in 1865.

There was absolutely nothing to dislike

Wow! Where do we start? The staff were over the top in their help, their customer service, and their kindness. It was like coming back to family every time we returned from an outing. They would always ask us how we were and what we ended up doing. The food was phenomenal and the hotel itself was exquisite. Such a special place. It will always be our home away from home if we are lucky enough to visit Zermatt again. And we know the staff will welcome us back and ask how we have been. Breathtakingly beautiful property!

The staff were excellent. We were always welcomed with a smile and an offer of help. The room was spacious and very comfortable, with refreshments and toiletries. Breakfast was the best we had on our two week trip. We enjoyed using the pool in the sister hotel.

The room was excellent, suitable for an extended stay with wonderful views of the Matterhorn. The reception staff both extremely helpful and courteous.

There was a tour group staying at the same time, they cleaned out the buffet leaving little for other guests.
