Location, history/ambience, all staff pleasant and efficient.
Room temperature too high, too many stairs to access room- I recognise the age and construction of the hotel.

Location - excellent, easy walking distance to all places of interest, shops, bars & restaurants. Lovely lounges to relax in, meet friends & enjoy a drink Staff were really friendly & helpful We stayed in an Executive Double - very spacious with large bed, table & 2 chairs. Kettle, tea, coffee & water. Small fridge which was really useful in warm weather.
Breakfast could be improved for a 4* hotel - poor bread selection of white or brown, there were no rolls, granary, french bread etc that one would expect. Please stop leaving the mushrooms stitting in water on the hot buffet! Mushrooms are like sponges - they hold water! Really not pleasant to eat! Please note that this is a very old hotel & as such does not have a lift, the floors & stairs are often uneven so not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. We were on the 3rd floor & it culd be difficult.

Beautifully kept property and so lovely to learn about the history of the building. The staff were excellent and extremely attentive. We also received a complimentary ride in one of their beautiful Bentleys around the city which was a wonderful treat. It was my daughter’s birthday and they even left her a card with a selection of sweets as a gift, a lovely touch.
Some of the decor was a little tired and we got put in the bar for breakfast which didn’t have quite the same atmosphere as the main restaurant - although the staff did apologise as it was due to the restaurant being too busy

The staff were very cheerful, helpful, patient, and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. The bedroom was perfect for my disabled wife, and although access to the room was not 100%, it omly entailed using three steps with a bannister on each side. The rest of the way was via the lift. The hotel certainly has a distinct charming style. One nice touch was that they had reserved a disabled parking space at the rear of the hotel, even though we had not requested one. We enjoyed the meals, including breakfast, but generally ate out during our daytime excursions. Well done, everyone at the Maids Head Hotel.

Great location and comfortable room. Nothing has changed much over the last 35 years when we first stayed there
An extra charge was put on the credit card on arrival

Breakfast: I liked that it has internal things as well as British breakfast such as cheese, fruit and avocado. The location is very good and the hotel has good breakfast and good customer service
Room: I booked the executive room. The double bed had two single ones combined and it was very uncomfortable. The bed was very soft and I was sinking inside. There was also a gap in between two single beds which made it even more uncomfortable. I prefer a proper double bed or two twin beds as combining two small beds is not comfortable for an executive room at higher prices. I stayed in a normal room before and the bed was more comfortable than the bed in executive room.

I really enjoyed my stay. I used to work at The Maids Head many many years ago. I was so pleased to see it is still a great hotel with wonderful staff with a good manager at the helm. Thank you for making my return to the oldest hotel in the UK, this time as a guest , a memorable and enjoyable one. Highlights were, drinks in The Maids Head Bar , the wonderful breakfasts in the courtyard, the warm welcoming friendly and most helpful receptionists All of the staff were professional and very responsive I was really impressed. You are all doing very well! Thank you. . Tim
It was all marvelous ... no criticisms a wonderful hotel and team

Love the comfort of this historic hotel.Big but never feels too busy.Plenty of relaxed seating.Friendly efficient staff in all areas.Fantastic location in centre of Norwich ,everywhere walkable .Our room was very clean and shower was powerful.Excellent quality breakfast with plenty of choice.
Having stayed many times before (pre change of ownership/refurbishment)I felt the evening menu option was limited and overpriced which was a pity as we felt obliged to eat outside of the hotel .Also the bar is very quiet ,often empty. It is a pity the hotel cannot attract non residents in to give the place some atmosphere but I appreciate there is a lot of competition in the surrounding area.

We enjoyed the whole stay very much. We had a warm welcome from Kanokwan on arrival and a surprise offer of a city tour in a vintage Bentley. Nigel drove us around Norwich and explained both the history and lots of entertaining stories and tips for our weekend. This made our visit five star. Thank you Nigel. We had two very good breakfasts with good choice and excellent staff team who were all friendly and very helpful. We had one evening meal ( classic menu) and again it was really good. Staff made us very relaxed . Our room was lovely. Looked out on to a busy street with the cathedral entrance which was ideally situated, but there was some noise ( music) from a local club/ bar. This didn’t worry us. Hotel is perfect for visiting Norwich and we’d love to return one day.

Junior suite was perfect for a quick get away for my son, my niece and I. A dear lovely room, set up perfectly for our stay. Staff were wonderful, very helpful, charming and smiled!!! Room service available for dinner and breakfast in bed which the kids loved!! Decent selection for breakfast.
Water in room was obviously for two people and not three. Room service dinner menu was limited, especially as two of us were vegetarians. Having said that it’s no surprise! Please offer something other than risotto for vegetarians, it’s so dull, I can assure you!!! We were due to go out for dinner, but the kids just wanted to chill and watch a movie. Honestly, these are small things and we had a super stay, but something to consider.
