The lady t the reception was extremely accommodating when we complained about the rooms in the new part of the hotel. She gave us superb rooms without surcharge.

The new section of the hotel is horrible! The design unaesthetic and not thought out. The rooms are hard to find and people with luggage have to carry it up stairs. I felt like being in a futuristic setting. See pictures. If you book to stay at the Hotel make sure to ask for accommodation in the old part.

Great location just 5 minutes’ walk from the railway station, just off the main shopping/eating street and an easy walk to the Palais des Papes and other attractions. As an old cloister/ monastery its thick stone walls helped to keep us cool in 33 degree heat. Historical building with an original chapel. Rooftop pool which is a rarity in such a centrally located hotel. We had dinner there on the Sunday and were very well looked after.

They could do such a lot more with it. Our room was comfortable but very spartan in appearance. The rooftop pool has mainly deckchairs rather than sunbeds and is virtually lacking in shade… just a few umbrellas would have made such an improvement. And the “bar” was not really operational; although you could often get a drink in the evening via the restaurant, we were refused a nightcap at 10:27 on our last night.

Location was excellent and very quiet, near to all that Avignon has to offer. We were upstairs in the loft where the bedroom and sitting area was and spent most time up there. Beautiful building with so much history , nice view of the courtyard and roof tops from the one big porthole window ! Bed was very large and comfortable, everything was so clean, they are very proud to keep up an excellent standard. Staff were all wonderful and friendly and always pleasantly approachable for any information you may require. We did not have breakfast but what we saw of it looked pretty good and substantial. Very large bathroom with good water temperature and pressure in bath/shower. Really felt good and special staying here and would do so again in an instant if we are lucky enough to return in the future !

The stairs up and down to the loft could be a bit tricky and scary for people who have walking difficulties and leg problems ! The shower in the bath would also be difficult to climb over the high bath edge with not much to hold onto !

A charming ,quiet and beautiful hotel.

The rooms of the new part are dark and have very low ceilings, a bit like a jail cell, just longer. Not our taste at all. We asked for an upgrade in the old building. It should be made clear on their website in booking.com that there area two kinds of buildings. The door of the shower was hard to open and close and made an awfull noise when doing so. Here and there in the hotel spots which need maintenance, specially at the pool. The room seems to have an undisclosed heating because it was too warm and we had to sleep with open window by 11 degrees outside. The water for the bathtub was twice not warm enough. The plastic chairs in the restaurant make a lot of noise on the stone floor. I would use wooden chairs with felt caps on the feet. The breakfast is not quite 4 stars.

Fantastically placed for everything to visit in Avignon - all within easy waking. Parking secure. However the restaurant was very disappointing - food tasty but tiny, tiny portions. Also we went to breakfast on the second morning and couldn’t get a table in the breakfast room as it was too busy with very loud guests (possibly a coach party or conference guests, as they all seemed to know each other). With us other guests having to queue up outside waiting for a table. It was 8am and as we were travelling onwards that morning we couldn’t wait.

Brilliant location, short walk from the station and perfect base for exploring the various lovely areas of central Avignon. Good selection for breakfast. Clean and comfortable rooms. Staff friendly and helpful. Beautiful setting too. Nice pool terrace.

Minor thing but layout of the building and rooms are a little odd, but understandable in a converted old building, although modern bit is also odd!

The room was spacious, clean and the bed very comfortable. A good selection for breakfast. Convenient for visiting attractions and public transport. Lovely to have a pool during the hot weather. Quiet location despite its proximity to attractions. Lovely to stay in an historic building with so much charm.

The smokers in the dining courtyard during meals was nasty. One of the male receptionists was pretty offhand but maybe he was just having a bad day.

It’s right in the heart of the city. Not in a really busy part but I thought it was a really cool part of the city near the best restaurants.

I’m afraid to say that the house keeping staff were not very good at clearing away used cups and glasses. Twice during our stay they left used cups and glasses after they had done everything else in the room.

The location was perfect - not far from the train & bus links but within the city walls in a quiet peaceful back street. Close to great restaurants and all the historic city attractions. Our room was in the ‘modern’ section but this did not detract from the stay at all as we had a wonderful terrace looking out over the beautiful gardens and historic courtyard. The rooftop pool was so refreshing and the rooftop lounging terrace was a wonderful way to relax at the end of the day. The room was very spacious with large comfortable bed, lounging area as well as an outside terrace, perfect for a an early morning coffee. Also a very large separate wardrobe and luggage store area. Friendly helpful reception staff, great to have 24 hour reception as we had to leave very early fir our homeward train.

All perfect

A fantastic location, so close to the City Centre train station ( this is NOT the TGV station ) . Enter into the court yard to a wow moment, as you step back into history seeing the old cloisters which have been so well looked after. Most room are easy to access, however some are at the very top, for which there is no lift ! Check you don't have to carry you cases beyond the lift. The room was an excellent size: Huge bed, very modern bathroom and even a kettle with coffee. I don't know of any other hotel with its own medieval chapel, stunning.

Not being advised that the room was in the Roof, and we had to carry our cases up 20plus very narrow ' castle like' stairs.
