Great place to stay but no airconditioning made it very warm as there was no breeze with window open. A minor grumble, but even a fan would help. Very helpful staff and reception. I plan to stay again as it is relaxing and easy.

1. The hotel is VERY central. You are in spitting distance of the cathedral, central train station, etc. etc. so getting around is very easy. 2. The staff were really friendly and helpful. 3. There's an amazing roof terrace with views of the cathedral along with tables, chairs and awnings so you can sit and relax in the sun. 4. Our room was clean and large and had a kitchenette which was really handy. 5. We had complimentary water, teas and coffees as well as a full size hair dryer (not a small one that doesn't do anything) as standard 6. The bed was actually comfortable! So many hotels we've stayed in we've had to endure bad backs, but not this time. It was two singles with a double mattress topper, but still comfortable and we had individual duvets which worked well considering the temperature difference between my husband and I. 7. The WiFi was excellent. We had no issues with it and it was strong! We were sat having brunch at Funkhaus (restaurant across the street) and we still had signal.

1. It's really hot in the summer in central Europe so we didn't expect any AC but having a small fan in the room would've made such a big difference. (then it would be an extra star!) 2. The mirror in our bathroom wasn't hung on the back wall of the alcove, so it meant that we had to be careful not to knock it over. That's it, those are the only cons. The hotel isn't luxury 5 star as it is an old building but considering we weren't spending much time there, it was perfect for what we were looking for. The room and bathroom was clean and it definitely wouldn't stop us from staying at here again. In fact my husband and I agreed that we would probably go out and buy a fan the next time we stay.

I really liked the location — it’s close to the train station and the cathedral, with all kinds of shops and cafés nearby to suit any taste. The room was clean, with an electric kettle, tea, coffee, and water provided. The staff were friendly and also spoke Ukrainian and Russian, which is helpful for those who don’t speak German or English. The room turned out to be significantly smaller than it looked in the photos, but that wasn’t a problem for us at all since we only came there to shower and sleep. Just something to keep in mind.

As for the downsides: there were no slippers in the room, even though it was mentioned that they would be provided. And the room key… it was really huge — quite inconvenient to carry around, didn’t fit in a pocket, so we always had to take a bag with us.

The location is excellent in the heart of the city. Especially good for those travelling by train. Very close to the Koln Hauptbahnhof (Central Railway Station), Dom (Cathedral), Rhine River, restaurants, bars and shopping. It is close to many museums including the outstanding art collection of the Wallraf-Richartz Museum. For the price I paid for this room over all it was very good value.

As the hotel does not have air-conditioning (a lack of which is common in Germany so nothing too unusual) I think a fan in the room would have helped as the outside temperatures during my stay were getting up to 37C degrees. The Wi-Fi had a tendency to cut out quite often.

Price/quality is perfect, taking into consideration location (3 minutes from the Dom/city centre) and value is a great couple of days stay. No complaints about the room, always warm and water available including a kettle for a nice tea in the room. Staff nice and available to help, I will definitely come back for an average price stay. - You can’t expect a 300 Euro night stay for this price, pay more and get more in another place.

All good! Probably breakfast agreement with restaurant “next door” is not a great deal considering that is a set plate with bread, one boiled egg and ham/cheese; it was ok but its probably better something outside.

When technical issues arose, they did their best to make me happy. They were kind and supplied me with beer and peanuts. The bathroom was pretty with a huge tub and there was a fan in the room because it was the summer (mandatory)

I paid $315 Canadian a night which is bonkers. My tv didn't work the first night, but I was very understanding to their situation. They gave me beer and peanuts and I was satisfied. My night two, it was replaced and I was happy. It could use with a deep cleaning.

I,m Ümit KUTLAR, stayed between 9-13 June 2024. The weather was very cold, and the hotel's central heating system was off due to the summer months, and my room was very cold. Ms. Rito found an electric heater from the warehouse for me and I stayed warm for 3 days. I would especially like to thank her :). The location of the hotel is great, the train station, Dom, Hohe Strase are very close, the Rein river is 5 minutes away, the location, cleanliness and price balance are very good. If I come to Cologne again, I will definitely stay in the same place again.

The heating system should not be completely turned off even in summer, because Cologne can be cold in June, but thanks again for finding a solution.

The staff at this hotel were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, very pleasant and friendly staff. The receptionists were very helpful and answered all our questions. The room was immaculate and very comfortable, and very clean. Location of the hotel was perfect, and easy to get to places. They also have a restraunt and the food was great. Super affordable and will definitely be staying here next time I come :) Thank you

The location was a prime location; there is some level of flexibility based on experience. The management in this hotel is responsive. It would be even better if there was a mini fridge.

The hotel room was generally clean, but with a bit of dust accumulated under the bed and one on occasion when the bed covers were not changed in a timely manner. However, the management was responsive and promptly resolved the issue. The bedroom did not have the best view.

This is my ‘go to‘ hotel when visiting Cologne, it’s central location is unbeatable just a short walk from the central train station, the Cologne cathedral and one of the most popular shopping streets hohe Straße. Room was clean to the top standard, and staff were as always exceptional. They are so helpful and welcoming and always go that extra mile to make sure everything is convenient and comfortable. This would always be my top recommendation for place to stay in Cologne.
