The room was nice; although not what I expected (like new age hotels). But the fact that it was right in the center of the old town (stone paved roads and classic restaurants), near a bridge on the river Aare, and the schloss; it offers great mix of old town vibes and near by you could find modern restaurants and supermarkets. Unfortunately the day I stayed here was raining; we wished to have visited this place during a sunny day. Right near the hotel is a city square (stone-paved) with a fountain in the middle; and a view (and stairs) of the schloss. The hotel itself is in a great condition, despite being an old but very beautiful building. The stairs, windows and the room itself will give you a good vibe.

This small hotel is more like a B&B with renovated rooms above a ground floor restaurant. Although each room is different, our sunny front room was enormous and including a table with chairs and a sofa with coffee table. The breakfast was small but delicious and the coffee was excellent. The bed was comfortable and the everything was clean.

The curtains were too transparent. At night, the room was still well lit from the street lights. The windows did have antique shutters but they did not appear to be functional. The hotel is NOT bike friendly. The hotel has no room for secure bike storage. Also, the rooms are up one or two flights of twisting stairs that would be tricky if you have limited mobility.

Great location in the center of the old city, 8 min walk ffom the train station and 5 min ftom the center island with all thd cafes zbd dhops. Thd single room aas very spacious, more than I expected and breakfast was great too.

Very noisy in the street at night, I had to open up the windows to refresh the temperature in the room, but it stayed noisy all night with cafes and restaurants under. Only once I closed the windows it was fine and quiet and I could sleep. Another thing, the stairs are really steep.

I got a free upgrade from a budget room to a suite because I only stayed for one night and the room was free which was super kind and surprising. Also, the breakfast was amazing and well executed and the staff was super friendly. The rooms are beautiful and the hotel is at a great location close to the station. The staff thinks along with you and is genuinely involved with their guests. The bed was very comfortable.

It is ran by a very small team, so there's usually no staff at all outside office hours. This isn't necessarily negative at all, just something to be aware of. The only little minus I experienced is that I missed a paper in the hotel room with some basic details like the wifi code, breakfast hours etc. It is told at the reception, but when you're tired after long travels it's hard to remember everything! I also couldn't find anything like that at the reception.

The property was charming and centrally located, only a few minutes walk from most things. The staff were very friendly and kind, which made the experience very pleasant for me, especially since I was traveling alone. I felt it was an excellent value for the cost. In my opinion, the breakfast was superior to what most hotels may offer. The room was extremely spacious, especially for one person.

The only “negative” thing I can say about the property is that the stairwell is narrow so it could be difficult for some people to navigate, but that kind of thing is to be expected in an older building. I really don’t have any complaints!

The room was large and a lovely design, and it is nicely in the old town. They also put a lovely typical Swiss breakfast on. I was concerned about having a shared bathroom but they were very clean.

The check in hours weren't as advertised, the front door was locked and the door bell didn't work. We had to make a couple of attempts to call them to get the door opened. Additionally, when I had to write my email address, I was told to write it again so it's readable. Staff otherwise lovely. I suggest having ear plugs if a light sleeper and early to bed.

key handover, they would have even provided gluten-free breakfast. Which was totally unexpected and given the time we were getting up not feasable for us. Would defintively recommend the place.

The single bed is too small for such a big room. I ended up going to sleep on the massive couch they had in the bedroom. Awesomely comfortable.

Very good experience! Great location. Very clean and with good energy. We have asked for a quiet room (not looking into the street) and such was given. It was very clam and quiet even though the hotel is located just next to the main square. The location is perfect - close to every attraction, up to 10 min to train station, few min from bus stops. Curtains are available and light was not waking us up. Beds and pillows could be better (too soft was us) but the amazing breakfast (pics below) and very friendly and helpful staff was making up for it. So we can't complain about anything. Perfect for few days stay.

It's such a charming place to stay. The staff paid very close attention and care. My room was clean and cozy, and the shared bathroom was kept clean the whole time. It's at a quiet part of the town but also close enough to the major attractions. It's a comfortable 10-minute walk to the train station. The breakfast was amazing as well.

The location is perfect, the staff extremely friendly and the value for the property vs. cost was quite high. It was a short walk to all the best places but not too loud.

We stayed in August (it was hot) and the room could have used a fan to move some air. But it wasn't terrible.
