Was visiting the Morgan car factory about 8 miles away and when looking for my preference of a good countryside hotel I came across Stanbrook Abbey. The feedback they have gave me the assurance I wanted - not only does it look good in the photos but it actually delivers everything it promises. I booked and took advantage of their pay now no cancellation rate including breakfast. The hotel is easy enough to find and is set in well maintained grounds and has a drop off point for passengers and their luggage directly outside their main entrance even though their car parks aren't far away it's going to be very welcome if it were raining. That wasn't the case when we arrived as we were in the grip of a heatwave with 30c + temperatures. We hoped that their air conditioning was up to the job and were pleased to find that it was - not only in reception and the lounge / bar but also very effective in the bedrooms. We arrived late afternoon on a quiet Friday. The reception staff were welcoming, efficient, helpful and made the check-in process a good experience. It's the small touches that help set this hotel apart such as pre-arrival phone call to verify your expected time of arrival and whether you have any special dietary needs. On arrival being shown to your room and addressed by your Christian name for your early morning wake up call adds to the experience of being made to feel a valued guest. The hotel has retained and preserved aspects of the old abbey and they, like the gardens, are worth exploring. The bedroom and it's bathroom were of reasonable size, spotlessly clean and well appointed. The bed was comfortable ensuring the best chance for a good night's sleep and the bathroom shower was easy to operate and set the desired temperature whilst producing a good volume of water. The breakfast menu has something for everyone - I went for the full English and wasn't disappointed.
Nothing to dislike - it was all good.

The young staff were all shining examples of how to do great customer service. Every staff member appeared relaxed but attentive, friendly but maintained professionalism. The room was excellent, clean and had everything you'd need. I'd recommend just spending an hour or two walking round the hotel and grounds as this is well worth it.
Minor grumble, but we ended up booking our dinner elsewhere as we were there on a Monday night which their website says was a night they didn't serve dinner. However, we were told on arrival that actually the website needs updating, so we could have eaten there all along! I suggest calling ahead and checking if the website still says they don't serve dinner on certain nights, as this might be incorrect.

Gorgeous former convent, sensitively modernised. The retained ecclesiastical features make the buildings quite spectacular. Room temperature ideal. Staff attentive. Extra points for the Jacob's sheep with two lambs in the orchard.
Dinner was excellent, but there was only one vegetarian starter and one vegetarian main course: a curry, which I would not have liked. Fortunately, we didn't want starters, so I was able to adapt the starter as a main, but I do think we should get at least two options. Why not offer a halloumi burger and a bean burger in the grill section? Everything else was first class.

Stanbrook Abbey is a stunning property, set in very spacious grounds on the edge of Worcester. It has been tastefully adapted as a hotel and has a large capacity both as a place to stay and as a wedding or events venue. We stayed one night only, en route to Oxford, and had decided to treat ourselves to one night of luxury in a comfortable place. Stanbrook certainly fit the bill with its attractive adaptation of the old property, retaining many of the original features. Our room was advertised as a ‘feature bedroom’ and whilst it was very nice and comfortable with a very good shower room, overall it was much smaller than I was expecting, having upgraded from a basic double. I’m not sure what the basic would have been like… We had dinner in the restaurant where the food and service were both excellent, as was breakfast the next morning, with a plentiful buffet and good hot meal selection. Overall we have a very comfortable and relaxing stay, albeit a brief one, and would definitely stay again if we wanted to treat ourselves to a similar stay in the area.
The bar staff didn’t seem very knowledgeable or well trained. I tried to order a cream sherry for my wife and not only could they not find any, they didn’t seem to have a clue what sherry was, and offered me the wine list to try to find it there…! I was a bit surprised that an otherwise well stocked bar in a hotel of this calibre didn’t have a bottle of sherry, which is hardly an obscure drink…

Exceptional in all respects booked via Booking.com. shortly before arrival and secured an advantageous rate. Thank you so much for the upgrade to the Abbas suite to support my wife who has mobility issues. The staff were attentive and welcoming. Cannot fault the hotel in any respect. I just wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the beautiful buildings and parkland surroundings.
Nothing to fault the hotel or staff.

Fantastic hotel, beautiful building, grounds and exceptionally friendly staff. The included breakfast was incredible. The games room in the basement made our evening, pool tables, table football and board games room were a great addition to the hotel. Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious with a great shower.
It was a truly special hotel and I would highly recommend visiting. We did find the drinks and food prices overly expensive - large glass of wine was £15 which for a standard bottle was a bit expensive. Main restaurant meals were expensive as well, comparable with Michelin star restaurants where we live. However, the setting, staff and the food we did have (the breakfast) were exceptional.

The buildings are beautiful & I loved its history. I stayed with my dog who was made very welcome. The grounds and perfect for dog walking as well as very peaceful. The room was spotlessly clean, tasteful furniture for the period of the property & extremely comfortable bed. Food was delicious too & beautifully prepared. I would struggle to find any fault with this hotel!
There is nothing to dislike with this property.

The whole place was incredible You were able to wander around, inside and outside with little to no restrictions. Stunning place Staff were outstanding, as was the food.
If I had to pick something, and it's difficult to find any nehlgatives here, the air-conditioning wasn't very powerful, however, it's a very old building and we had 4 windows in the room so we kept them open and it was just perfect!

I loved every part of The Stanbrook Abbey experience. It was a Surprise for my 50th Birthday. Thank you very much Froddo. We Got a free upgrade which was amazing. The staff were very attentive. The whole Abbey was spotless and beautiful.I loved walking around the whole building. The architecture is something else. We spent some happy times in the bar and enjoyed the food muchly. Loved the curried toffee popcorn. We had free range of the basement games room and enjoyed playing pool. The room was immaculate and tbh I cried. We had a roll top bath which I thoroughly enjoyed with bubbles to the top. The bed was so comfy as soon as my head hit the pillow I was soundo. I would highly recommend staying here if you want to be treated like royalty. The room was the size of the bottom floor of my house. We had the breakfast included which was delicious. Fresh organic ingredients and so filling. ( Full English ) Didn't want to go home.
Nothing.
