Nice spacious rooms, peaceful location and nice friendly staff. The receptionist was helpful and pleasant and when I had no coffee in my room I spoke to the young housekeeping girl who was fantastic and provided me with more than enough coffee and milk.
Its location isn’t the best, it’s a distance to city and not much around. There’s a carvery place a short walk so somewhere for food and drinks but shops a distance a way. It’s also a long walk or a taxi to airport.

Property was close enough to the bus stop. The metro station was a small walk but makes getting in and out of Newcastle City Centre easy enough if you have no walking problems.
I didn’t like the toilets and showers being away from my room down the corridor. I’ve got problems personally with my toilet needs so could have done with being just a little closer.

Room was decent size with a TV on the wall, staff were very nice to deal with and someone was at reception 24/7. Plenty of parking onsite too which is free. I booked this very last minute due to a screw up with my original hotel and the staff were very accommodating
Overall cleanliness was not great, I know this is a budget friendly hotel but could still be cleaner. The toilet and shower facilities are shared (which is stated on the booking) which was no issue but I was expecting hostel style facilities whereas the hotel has quite strange self-cleaning style pods for the toilets and showers. These were fine but most of the ones I used on my stay were in need of repairs

Accommodating and very helpful staff. Clean rooms and shared facilities. Any potential guest has to understand that they will not have their private bathroom but it’s OK for their low prices. Good public transport links to Newcastle city centre.
The ground floor kitchen was closed (locked) at 9 pm. This created some inconvenience without stopping some young guests of the hotel having noisy late fun.

We were very pleasantly surprised by our stay. We saw lots of mixed reviews and were dubious, even looking to cancel a few days before our stay. We were a party of 3, so we had a bunk bed- non of us had the courage to climb up on top, so we took the mattress down and laid it on the floor without any worries of injuries or damage to the bed (I personally slept on this and it was so so comfortable, could have used another pillow though but it’s okay- we hope this was okay to do, oops). Bedding and towels were clean. The showers and toilets were also clean and very easy to use, although we were hit and miss with the lights staying on and the self cleaning situation confused us- either way, our stay was highly pleasant for what we needed, staff were super friendly and helpful too and they did regular checks of the toilet/shower rooms. We also requested an extension for our check out and this was no trouble for £10 extra on the day.
There was some noise from neighbours either downstairs or the same floor (not sure as it was around 3/4am and we were merry ourselves) but it’s to be expected really with our stay being during a festival weekend. Confusing self cleaning showers/toilets and lights going off- but not a huge issue.

This place gets the job done - a cheap place to sleep! It does what it says on the tin. It's not beautiful, but you can't expect that at these small prices. I think they do make an effort to clean, just the facilities are grubby looking because they are working on a small budget. I saw staff cleaning the kitchen, and given that many people use the shared toilets I thought they could definitely have been worse. I'd stay here again to save money!
I think the imperfect things are fair for the price range! Let's face it, it is ugly! But that's not why you're choosing to stay here. The bed wasn't comfortable - but that's not why you're staying here! The WC was a bit like an airplane toilet, but if you want to pay the minimum amount, it's probably worth it!

All of the staff were great and Nicola in particular, we thought you were lovely and a great hairstyle as a bonus ... really suits you, your husband is a lucky man. The location is great, if it suits you, and there are plenty of facilities nearby. It could be noisier, if packed, but we had a quiet night and the room was fine.
The exterior could do with a gardening company to tidy it up but that's being picky for the price to be honest. It has stairs and communal showers, etc, so don't book it if you're pedantic. We'll definitely stay there again, Ha'way the Lads.

Only stayed the one night and had a very early start for the North East Skinny dip. It was basic clean and comfortable just what we needed as we were only sleeping there. The lady on reception was great and really helped out and couldn't do enough. She went out of her way to sort us a kettle to make a flask for a 4 am depart.
It is what it is safe an warm and convenient the rooms, toilet and shower were clean and its more like being on a ship than in a hotel.

Very friendly staff, room and shower/toilets were spotless clean, room was nicely decorated (even had an feature wallpaper and fancy bedside lights, the windows were fairly sound proof. lots of onsite parking, hardly any noise from other guest walking past my room
Not having eu-suite bathroom (there were 5 shower cubical & 5 toilets on my floor and I never had to queue) Hotel is right next to the A10, a bit far of town, the Metro stop is 10 mins walk away.

Our room was okay with everything needed for a cheap nights accommodation and it's set in a great location for getting around Newcastle easily.
The only thing I didn't like was the shared bathroom but I was aware of that when I booked. It's a shame all rooms aren't en-suite, but the price reflects that and you get a cheap nights stay.
