Good location with a bus stop outside the hotel with regular buses into the city centre and a 10 minute walk from the Jesmond metro station. Excellent value for money with a well appointed en suite room at the rear of the building. A complimentary continental style breakfast was included in the price with basic offerings but a reasonable choice given its inclusion in the price of the room. Would definitely stay there again if visiting Newcastle.

The hotel is above a ground floor bar which gets very busy in the evenings with young revellers who are by nature quite noisy in large numbers. Because of this I would recommend a room at the rear rather than at the front which would ensure a better nights sleep. The £70 damage deposit was a bit annoying but refundable. If you pay in cash it is refunded on departure but if paid by card it could be several days before it is refunded.

A friendly and attentive welcome at check-in. Spacious and well-fitted bedroom (double room for single occupancy) and good bathroom. I took advantage of the Resident's discount on food and drink in Bar Blanc and enjoyed an excellent sirloin steak.

I had booked a room with breakfast so was slightly disappointed to learn on arrival that the included breakfast was a breakfast box to be collected from reception, with a cooked breakfast available at a supplement. HOWEVER I should say that the Full English Breakfast for which I did pay the supplement was excellent and turned out to be good value.

Staff were lovely, and the stay represented great value- £35 for a night and breakfast! Room was a decent size and had a bath. The decor is a little tired and worn but the room was clean. Location good for a walk or short bus ride to central Newcastle. It's also near a Waitrose and other shops and cafes. However, bear in mind the rooms are above a very popular bar with an outside drinking terrace in an area full of students. Ask for a room at the back or at the top of the hotel to avoid noise problems especially at weekends. I asked to be moved due to students drinking outside all day in the sun directly under my allocated room. The hotel is also on a road which is very busy. The hotel is a great budget hotel otherwise and you get a discount on meals and drinks in the bar- Bar Blanc- if you are staying there.

A great location very near the centre of Newcastle, with good transport links. You get 25% off your drink and food in they're lounge every day except a Saturday, when it is 10%. Great value!

Nothing not to like.

Having been here before I already knew it was in a very convenient location for visiting my student daughter in Jesmond. There is free parking behind the hotel and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. You do get what you pay for (and this is very affordable), but for one or two nights it does the job. Our TV remote didn’t work, so a box of replacements was quickly produced and all was good again.

Our room was on the first floor and right over the loud student night that was going on. This didn’t actually affect our ability to sleep, but I feel it would be good to mention something about this in the hotel details. Last time I was on the second floor and more central so the noise was further away.

Good value hotel in Jesmond with private parking and attached pub with resident discount.

Having to pay a 50 pound deposit is not good, never used to do this when we've stayed before...

Could not have been much better. I was looking for a budget hotel in Jesmond, it cost £100 for 2 for 2 nights, of course it wasn't a starred hotel experience, but the beds were clean, the water hot, breakfast included, as much tea as we wanted, great staff. We got there in time to watch the Euros with my son's friends, it was their favourite bar, enjoyed the atmosphere, and had a quiet night even though it was a semi final. Enjoyed a great loaded nachos in the bar with a good supply of tap and bottled beer. yes the decor could do with a bit of an update, but my bed was comfy, even with its one pillow, and it felt homely. Perfect for graduation and any other stays. Even has a car park

Loads of spaces to park your car and a 5 minute walk to the metro but also you have the option to walk into Newcastle as its about a 25 minute walk. Room was big and comfy and warm maybe a little too warm however I would rather be too warm than too cold. Price was decent compared to other hotels out there and for one night it definitely did the job. Wouldn't say it was a perfect hotel but I would come back again.

Rooms were slightly noisy. If someone opened their door it sounded like they were opening yours so I did wake up a few times thinking someone was coming into our room but I got used to it. Hotel in itself is a little outdated but the bed was comfy and the room itself was big and spacious. Shower didn't really work properly. Very little water came out and was cold so we gave up in the end but we only stayed one night so it wasn't a problem or issue to us we just had a shower once back home.

The room was pleasant, the staff were helpful. The bar is nice with really good food on which you get a discount.

I’ve stayed a few times now and have already rebooked, however I don’t advise staying on a Saturday night, I had a great three nights up until Saturday night, my neighbours in the next room were loud until 3am, other guests noisy in the corridor and I think one guest even fell down the stairs. Not the hotels fault but I’ve booked up until Friday morning this time.

Very convenient location. Only 15 minutes from the airport and 10-15 minutes to town. The staff were exceptional and really did everything they could to help me out. I was there early, and they were fantastic. Wifi works well.

It was all pretty great. Sometimes there's some noise after the 11pm noise curfew. Hot chocolate at the front would be great. Maybe chocolate powder sachets and then people can use the hot water from the machine. I think the price was okay. The bar is okay, but the food was minimal and only in small sizes.
