Comfortable beds, feels newly decorated, great rain shower. We were in the additional accommodation over the road from the main hotel. Good restaurant for evening dinner - great food, excellent service. Inclusive breakfast was plentiful, not a huge selection but fresh fruit, pastries, traditional English breakfast and a selection of juices, teas and coffees that were replenished frequently.

As a light sleeper I found the rooms quite noisy, it from the traffic outside but in the corridors and from adjoining rooms. We were staying the weekend so possibly more noisy than mid week.

Hotel is in a good location with many bars and restaurants nearby, i was given a room on the first floor (204) which was better than i expected for the price, the woman who checked me in offered me this as i was staying 5 nights which was a nice bonus, all the staff were friendly and the hotel is generally clean, i stayed midweek mon-fri so the issues others had mentioned about noise didnt really affect me also the students are finished for the summer aswel, its 5-10 min walk to the metro into town or £5 uber, i didnt have the breakfast so cant comment but there is multiple places nearby to eat anyways. The pub/bar next door is good for a drink and plenty screens to watch the sports, i would stay again

There was only half a roll of toilet roll in the room when i checked in, and the wierd speaker above the bed playing really quiet music was a bit fiddly to turn off, but no real issuea

The location was ideal for our purposes. The room was comfortable although fairly small. The bathroom was modern and met our requirements. Breakfast was excellent - as we booked and paid in advance it was cheaper than otherwise and included a wide variety of options to meet everyone's expectations. There were 2 restaurants adjacent to the Hotel and we ate in each of them, we were all happy with our food and the service was very good.

There was noisy ventilation equipment right outside the window that started at 5.30am. Only the fixed shower head worked, not the removable one and the bathroom wasn't as clean as I would have liked. We had to ask for the music to be turned down in both restaurants as we couldn't hear each other over the loud music.

Great value, this hotel is asking for much less than many others in this close range to Newcastle (we used the metro which is a couple of stops until you’re in the city centre area). Free parking was a bonus. Check in was straightforward, the room was big. We stayed at the one across the road that’s above a bar but when we got back in it was 11.30pm ish and the bar was closed so no noise issues. I’d use this place again when going to a gig etc

It’s not a dislike, I think it’s understandable for the price that the furniture and walls need a bit of rejuvenation. But for £42 I was not expecting the ritz! So it was fine for us.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel in preparation for the Great North Run. The location was excellent, in the lovely area of Jesmond, with lots of restaurants, cafés and shops in the area. Despite all of the partying atmosphere outside at the many bars, the room felt quiet and was comfortable. Staff were super friendly and helped us out directing us to their parking, etc. Though breakfast was not included, there was a good, discounted rate available if booking the night before.

Price was very high, no doubt inflated due to the Great North Run at the weekend. Room could have been a little cleaner.

The staff were lovely, the room was nice, everything worked, there was a tv in the room, the on suite was very cool. There were clean towels on the bed, loo roll in the bathroom, the bed sheets were clean. There was a working fridge, tea, coffee, milk, working kettle. Would 100% stay again ☺️.

The only thing to mention is the toilet was a bit low down and a bit close to the wall but I honestly can’t complain for the price and the niceness of everybody ☺️.

The room was so quiet. The bed was very comfortable with the best pillows I've slept on in a long time ( I have nerve damage in my neck) . Breakfast was lovely with lots of choices . Although I didn't spend any time in the bar on a nighttime it was easy to see how popular it is when.i was going to.my room . The room was really hot with no way to regulate it .That is not a complaint it's more an observation . The shower was a treat .It was easy to regulate. I will definitely be back with my husband the next time .

Love this hotel! Great value for money.We have stayed a few times now! Great location near bars, shops and restaurants. Friendly staff. If any issues they always deal with them quickly. Breakfasts very tasty, friendly staff too! Room sizes vary but comfortable bed, great shower and towels changed daily. Will definitely stay again I hope.

Although room ready for us the dirt bed linen from previous guests was lying on the floor in the bedroom! Music blaring from a speaker from the bar! My Mums room-broken standard lamp! No bedside lamps though one was put into room after we spoke to receptionist.

We thought the hotel was very good value for money. Generally the rooms were fine. Very large and lots of space for luggage. Basic but clean. It’s a 2/3 star hotel so if you go expecting that you will be pleasantly surprised. We were staying in the sister hotel across the road. We found staff to be friendly and helpful. We thought breakfast was good and the restaurants owned by the hotel were outstanding. Great service and even better food!

A few of our rooms had smelly drains and we ended up needing a few air fresheners. Loud outside but all noise stopped by 11/12 so wasn’t an issue for us as we were out until that time anyway.

This is a great value hotel in an expensive and vibrant location. I’ve previously stayed with them but in their other location (across the road - on the website for this hotel but in the Carlton) which has slightly cheaper rooms but as clearly explained on the website is above a bar so of course is a bit noisy. Paying a little more for a room in the main (Cairn) location is well worth it if you want something quieter. Fantastic staff who were friendly and helpful. This is not the Ritz as you are not paying Ritz prices but is clean, reasonably quiet (in the main Cairn hotel location) and great value!

A minor niggle was arriving late so no parking available on site - but it was easy to park around corner in Acorn Road until 10am when a space then became available on site.
