Excellent location right in old town where main attractions are located; easy access to train, tram, food, shopping; helpful and friendly staff. Our room has a balcony that looks out to main square. Trams stop in front. Thanks to Tonja who advised us to see Gunther mountain on our first day. Has kettle/ tea in room.

Limited space, a couple is ok for 1-2 days. If mobility issue, there are 2 steps to get into small lobby then 2 more steps to elevator that is more than 100 year old so only 2 people at a time and allows only medium size luggage. Then elevator goes down to 1st floor only and you have to ask reception to push elevator control to reach ground floor to exit the hotel. Was informed breakfast from 7-10 but food was already out by 9:30. No hot food.

During our trip, we stayed at a wonderful hotel in Bern, and it was a fantastic experience. The hotel’s location was absolutely perfect, right in the heart of the city center. It made exploring Bern so easy, as everything we wanted to see and do was just a short walk away. The price was also very reasonable, especially considering its prime location. It felt like excellent value for the convenience and comfort provided. The hotel itself was clean and well-maintained, with cozy rooms that made our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, this hotel in Bern was an ideal choice for its combination of affordability, comfort, and unbeatable location. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay in the city!

The only downside was that there was no parking spot available at the hotel, which could be a bit inconvenient for those traveling by car. However, this was a minor issue given all the other positives.

Hotel is very conveniently located close to the main train station. The room we were in was a recently refurbished room facing out onto the tram stop. Even with this the room was quiet, spacious, and included everything that we would have expected. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast downstairs in the restaurant was included and extremely convenient. Hotel location is excellent for access to Bern via either the trams out front, or just by walking.

This didn't worry me, but with reception on the first floor, and those staying in higher floor rooms, there is only one lift and it is 120 years old (seriously). Take the stairs if you can, but it is a very novel ride.

An historic hotel with a 120+ year old lift to take us up to our floor. Very nostalgic. We ate dinner outside across the street where the hotel had a portable cafe set up and a small television for watching Euro 2024 football. Breakfasts in the hotel were plentiful, with lots of homemade breads.

All was good. Location was easy to get around. Reservation included free public transportation which helped us get around town. I love the sound of transportation, so hearing the trams and buses outside the hotel did not bother me. And there are lots of them, which provide easy access.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Very clean hotel. Excellent linen and bedding. A historic hotel (110 years old) that has been carefully preserved, but modernized where appropriate (for example, bathrooms). Great value for the price paid. Special thanks to Emma for her hospitality.

Breakfast was pretty meagre - a very small selection of bread, some yoghurt, meat, & processed cheese. No muesli, no sweet baked goods of any kind, no hot food of any kind. This is my only complaint about the otherwise excellent hotel.

We used Bern as a hub to do day-trips from over a four-day period, so the hotel's convenient location to the train station was great. A 5-6 minute walk. The location was also within a 10-minute walk to the Alstadt area. For inter-city tram transport, the stop was 30 seconds from the hotel's front door. The 120-year-old lift/elevator was a conversation piece. We found the room typical for European accommodations: small, concise, very clean, comfortable.

Our room was in the front of the hotel and faced a busy street with constant noise from the trams. No A/C, which would not have been a problem if we could have left windows open, but it was too noisy. The room had a small fan that we used for air circulation, so we were not uncomfortable. If I stayed at this hotel again, I would request a room that did not face the main street. The breakfast was typical/adequate, but we had better experiences in other locations during our three-week travels.

Easy access to public transport and to the Old Town, and the very helpful staff, especially Ana. We also enjoyed riding the old elevator, and the fresh orang juice and great selection of cheeses!

Bathrooms were small for some rooms with no accessory in the shower area for personal soaps/shampoos. Since we stayed for a whole week it would have been nice if the breakfast options changed occasionally.

This is a well-run hotel on the edge of Bern's Old Town. The family suite comprised two separate bedrooms with adequate space for luggage. The reception staff was very helpful, and the buffet breakfast was excellent.

If you're coming by car, parking is about a block away and is expensive (35 Euro per night). However, if you're traveling by train the hotel is only a short walk from the main station.

A short walk from the Bern Bahnhof on a quiet street - as long as you can sleep to the soothing purr of electric streetcars. Restaurants, retail, entertainment, and services right outside the front door. An excellent breakfast. Check In/Out was quick and easy with a very helpful and knowledgeable staff.

I booked an Economy Single Room and declined an upgrade in exchange for extra early Check In. The room was REALLY small. A tiny twin bed with a rock hard mattress and too much furniture for a room that size. The bathroom you could barely turn around in. You get what you pay for. I'm an average sized person and I can do small but in hindsight, the next size up would have been a better choice for me.
