The hotel was within walking distance of the railway station approx 1 minute ,which was excellent for us as we used La Spezia as a base to visit Cinque Terre, Portofino etc so used the train every day. It was also however within walking distance to the town, shopping area etc and the Ferry port. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent ,a great choice of cold meats, pastries etc, hot items , bacon, eggs etc and freshly made pancakes fabulous. Very clean and gave the option of reusing the towels which I always think it a little step towards helping the environment. Couldn’t fault this hotel and would definitely use again if in La Spezia. La Spezia by the way is a nice little town with loads of great restaurants so always came there at night to eat.

Nothing really. Would have been good to have a mosquito plug in bedroom like we had in Florence hotel as my husband and I got quite badly bitten during the night. We did ask if they had one but unfortunately not. Will remember to carry one ourselves in future !!

Great position with down-town La Spezia a 10-15 stroll down a pedestrianised shopping street. Didn’t mater for me as I was driving, but the hotel is very handy for the railway station. Room was very comfortable if a little too warm. Staff throughout from reception to the waiting staff in the Terminus Cafe where I had a couple of cocktails and dinner and in the breakfast room the following morning were charming and very efficient. Jacuzzi bath was a pleasant surprise - which I used for a relaxing soak. Live jazz/pop piano music with vocals on the Saturday night I was in the Terminus Cafe where was perfectly pitched as to be entertaining while still allowing patrons to chat with no issues.

Couldn’t adjust the air con which was set far too high for me. Ended up switching it off along with a radiator in the adjoining room and opening the window. Room then at a temp I could handle.

The location is super convenient for a day tripping to Cinque Terre. Just a few hundred feet from the La Spezia train station. The front desk staff were very kind and helpful. They stored our baggage before check-in as well as after checkout enabling us to maximize our time in the area. Great starting and ending point for the Cinque Terre.

The rooms were warm and no way to cool them down besides opening the windows. A minor inconvenience. Due to our late arrival we had to eat dinner at the hotel restaurant which was beautiful but the food was expensive and a disappointment.

We were upgraded to a newly refurbished room (166). Lovely and spacious, comfortable beds, very large bathroom. Exceptionally clean everywhere. The breakfast was excellent - a wide variety of hot and cold food. Very good service in a beautufully appointed breakfast room. The bar is very modern with very helpful staff and a great selection of drinks to choose from. The hotel's location is a just down from the train station, which is ideal for visiting all the villages in the Cinque Terre. The reception staff were very helpful. We emailed them prior to our visit, where they recommended an amazing boat ride (seeing the Cinque Terre by sea, was stunning) and helped with bus info to visit the beautiful Porte Venere (a must for dinner and drinks at sunset) We definitely would highly recommend this lovely hotel and are going to visit again!

Nothing. Everything was perfect

Room size and breakfast were fine. The staff remembered us each morning and brought our breakfast drinks right away. Did not eat dinner in the hotel. Major attractions were a short walk from the hotel. While we had some issues upon check in, the staff solved our problems quickly.

Hair dryer did not work. Safe did not work, and we could not use the air conditioning, because it is programmed only to work between May and October. The neighborhood did not seem safe.

Excellent location near station (but no station noise) and just a few minutes stroll to main shopping /restaurant area. High quality hotel, hard to fault room design and fittings and exceptionally clean throughout. Free bike hire available. Excellent breakfast buffet and high quality restaurant/ terrace bar for evening drinks or dinner.

On some days, breakfast buffet was slow to be replaced so choice was limited if in a rush to get out.

The hotel is very nice. The location is very close to the train station and the hotel was very quiet. The rooms were very nice and the bathrooms/shower was amazing. The breakfast was very good. The hotel is close to restaurants and shops in La Spezia and walking distance to the harbor. This was one of the nicer hotels that we stayed at during our trip to Italy where we stayed in Rome, Florence, Venice, and La Spezia. I highly recommend this hotel for the comfort and value. Also this is a great place to stay if you are planning on visiting Cinque Terre. You can buy a daily train pass for the trail and train trips between the towns.

Nothing this hotel was very nice!

Location adjacent to the Central Station was very convenient. Never heard a train. The buffet breakfast was extremely good. As was the cappuccino in the evenings. The bed was comfortable, as was the room. Staff were very professional and courteous.

No coffee or tea facilities in the room. The shower stall was very tight for a tall man.

The room was nice and comfortable. The bathroom was a little cramped but it's Europe, so to be expected. The buffet breakfast was very good. The location is great, right across the street just a few steps down from the train station. The hotel is also not far from a very enjoyable town square area that has restaurants. The price of the room was good too. I wish we had stayed there in La Spezia instead of staying in Monterosso.

A regular door on the bathroom. It had a sliding door but it was not a big deal.

This was the best stay we've had in 10 hotels so far. The staff were friendly, the hotel was beautiful and clean, the rooms were spacious and warm and the bathrooms were well designed. The location is perfect to access both the train station and the centre of town. The breakfast buffet was a lovely mixed spread with an a la carte option if you wanted, and the hostess made lovely coffee.

Everything was perfect!
