Its a grand old place, well located and with lots to offer but needs to be loved. the building is stunning, elegantly furnished to suit the period, Staff and manager are lovely too. close to a lot of great wineries.

the grand is a beautiful old building but needs a lot of TLC. our room was stunning but upon my husband sitting on the bed, the one side came crashing down. the frame supporting the slats sheared off. also the water pressure in the showers needs to be addressed. a lot of the areas look tired and in need of paint. also some pruning needs to be done to remove the climbers that are growing over some windows.

Staff were super friendly, and the room was so clean and tidy! We received a free bottle of wine with our stay which was a great bonus, and there was also free brekky (although my partner and I were too lazy and slept in haha). We had dinner there as well, and we were given a table in a quiet corner by the fire which was soooo cosy, especially on such a cold winter night. We felt well taken care of! The hotel is a beautiful historic building and was only 10 mins away from a winery we went to for lunch, and close to Healesville as well. There are also plenty of options around to eat as well, but the restaurant on site is worth it!

Unfortunately the mattress was very uncomfortable for us! And if you have a shower, you'll need to have it on for a while before the hot water clicks in otherwise you'll end up frozen like me haha! But that's obviously something that can easily be resolved if you don't jump in right away! Haha

Beautiful room, very clean and also quiet which was surprising as it is upstairs above dining room and bar. Very comfortable mattress...happy to stay here again!😊

No water for a shower in the morning ....felt very sorry for the manager, trying to deal with a situation he had no control over....the water mains in the street had been ruptured. Still got to have breakfast and were given a generous voucher to compensate for the inconvenience of no water..👍

Such a beautiful establishment! I fell in love with the place as soon as I entered the property! The staff were wonderful and very helpful.

Cob webs on the inside of the windows in our room (perhaps a reflection of the "old" rustic Charm of the property....) and the incredibly loud noise that woke us on our first morning, which was possibly coming from the pipes when a neighbouring room was showering. The hot water was also a bit touch and go when showering.This may very well be expected for such an old property (circa. 1888), however, having this fixed to provide comfort to future guests may be a great consideration 😀 Other than this, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Always wanted to stay in this beautiful old pub and I'm glad I did. Good value and old world charm. Great meals and included continental breakfast.

It is quite creaky and noisy being the vintage it is which has to be expected. They do have ear plugs as an in room gift. It was pretty quiet being midweek but I imagine weekends would be a lot noisier. The old chaise lounge although very fitting for the room wasn't at all comfortable.

Loved the old world charm, nice to have books to read, great idea to have a child free area for dining. Great location and awesome having breakfast included. Dinner was also really nice.

Shower over the bath can be hard for people with mobility difficulties. Had to plug the kettle in on the high shelf in the bathroom otherwise on the floor on carpet. Would be good to have a power board near the where the kettle was on the fridge.

In room 7 if you don’t leave the light on when you leave to go out, and it daylight but when you enter the room and it is dark there are steps that you cannot see. My wife took a bad fall as the light switch is not at the door so you enter a dark room. The steps are very close to the door. A sensor would solve the problem as it would turn the light on when the door is opened

A heritage listed establishment with a very comfortable balcony suite (2 rooms),with a verandah access and views over the street. Very comfortable bed and nice linen/pillows. Aircon great as the night was chilly. Shower over the bath with excellent hot water delivery. Good quality continental breakfast with the host supplying a barista coofee of you choice.

For the ladies, the absence of a lighted make up mirror in the bathroom.

Lovely original building, super clean room, warm and cosy on a chilly night, came with a hand written note and a lovely gift of bed socks which I didn't actually need as the room was lovely and toasty, and a bottle of red. Great and tasty meal options in the restaurant. Continental breakfast was also complementary. Good barista coffee made for me in the morning. All staff were super friendly, helpful and welcoming and facilitated a late check in with out any problem.

Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. All amenities you could need, even earplugs. Well located. Really well priced. Staff were friendly. We would stay again. Did use breakfast as we had to leave early but was great inclusion.

After hours entrance could be paved, not great for heels. Wasn’t sure where to leave keys upon early morning departure. Main entrance is quite dark and does not give you the greatest first impression. Could do with a slightly gully bigger bin.
