Very well maintained and exceptionally clean. Excellent location - couldn’t be better.

There was only one thing we were frustrated about - the room has a ductless AC unit with a thermostat. The instructions tell you how to turn the AC (or heat, in winter) on or off. However, I think the unit was somehow programmed to turn off the AC after 10-12 minutes of cooling. We were there for only 2 nights, and we realized this only during the first night (I had to get up several times to press “On” to restart the AC). I know we should have called the reception number provided, but we just got busy. Our room was named Guggenhiem - so if someone else has this room, and the same issue, please call for help right away.

Great central location - literally on the entrance to the square in the middle of the old town. Check in was done online and all access was by code. You are spoiled for choice with so many restaurants, pinxos bars and cafes just steps away from the property. It was immaculately clean. The bed was huge and so comfortable. Parking Arenal was a short walk away. Alfredo even called to give us a discount voucher for the car park. Staff were super helpful throughout the booking process. We stayed here during Holy Week Easter ceremonies and the night of a major football match. Everywhere in the vicinity was noisy, buzzing and full of life. Having said that we both slept very well. I would highly recommend Pension Lo Bilbao .

Could have done with more than 2 coffee pods. Very small point.

Pensión Lo is one floor of a large townhouse. It is very safe, very clean and very quiet. Online check-in was no prob. The room was nice, quite tiny and the only window opened to a dark backyard. That was ok for one night, maybe two, but for longer stays you better choose one of the good hotels nearby such as Barceló. However, I had chosen Lo for one night only, dropped my luggage on arrival and went out into the wonderful Casco Viejo of Bilbao. And for that purpose Lo is great, right in the middle of everything!

Great little modern pension right in the heart of the Old Town but, as all rooms are on the 1st floor relatively quiet too. My room (Carola) was compact but had everything I needed and the location couldn't have been any better. Less than a 30 second stroll to the old square with all the lovely Pintxo places, and similar distance to the Metro station. Air con and a wall mounted large screen tv in the room. Small en suite with good walk in shower. Would stay again as a single traveller

The extractor fan in my en suite didn't seem to work. Probably related, but the tiles appeared to have black/brown mould on them - although this didn't scrub off with a quick go so I can't be 100%.... but it looked bad/mouldy - Interroom soundproofing not great (but pleased the couple next door had such 'fun times" (repeatedly !!) - For a couple, the room I had ('Carola') would be a bit small (one side of the bed is against the wall) - My room only had an opaque window to an internal air shaft/storage area so minimal natural light

Central location, but at the same time very quiet in my room. The girl at reception was very helpful and I had no issues accessing the facilities. The use of the key code for each door was also very reassuring from a security perspective.

Slight funny smell in the stairway coming up from the main door but I think that the host was aware of it as plenty of air freshener in the accommodation to compensate for it.

The first floor room with interior 'view' was perfect for my needs. It might be a bit small for 2 though. The bed was SO comfy so I was happy! I was sceptical that it would be quiet being so close to Plaza Nueva but it really was! 😁All the communication was so quick and easy and no problem with checking in online and using the door codes. On checkout day I also used the locker service mentioned by the owners and that was great too! Thank you. 😁

The Nespresso machine is a bit pointless. A simple kettle would be more use and much quieter. Everything else was great.

The appartment is in an excellent location. It is easy and safe to walk around as a solo traveller.

It was a little challenging to find the reception to deposit luggage before the room was ready. Although there is google maps nowadays it should be remembered that not all travellers maybe internet savvy and it should be part of the service to help find the reception, particularly when the price of the rooms are not inexpensive.

The location is absolutely perfect, right by the Plaza Nueva, easy walking to all the main sights in the city, and good public transport connections. The room was very clean and comfortable, and very quiet in spite of central location. Nice decor and felt very safe and secure. We just had a few meters walk to the cafes on the Plaza Nueva to get a good breakfast or have a late night drink before turning in for the night.

It was rather annoying that hours for leaving luggage at the sister property were so limited, this was very inconvenient on the day we arrived and the day we left.

Location location location Conveniently located a couple of minutes walk from the zazpikaleak metro station in the Casco viejo area. Right next to the Nueva Plaza. Couldnt ask for a better location. Super comfy bed and a daily replenishment of tea and cofee to enjoy with the machine that came with the room.

No actual daily cleaning for the room during my four day stay. The bed was made (sort of) and that was it. But overall good value for money.

Location was great, right in the heart of the old city. Room was nice, bed was really comfortable, but the location was noisy. I have used ear plugs and slept like a baby. Breakfast was not an option, but there are plenty of option on the streets nearby.

I would have loved to have a kettle for a cup of tea, but that wasn't the end of the world. :) Bathroom could do with a bit of extra privacy. :)
