The hotel is located in nice area, a ten minutes walk away from the main shopping street and not far away from the sea. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room service was very fast and forthcoming.

At the checkout the receptionist presented a bill with a surcharge of EUR 160 explaining to me that this amount was a suggestion for a tip. The situation with more staff members observing me from behind the counter created a bit of a social pressure for me to pay this amount. I refused, however, telling them that I don't like the way I am forced to pay this tip and that I prefer this to be a spontaneous gesture – for which there was no more room left, though. I understand that staff is grateful for a tip and I normally like to show my appreciation by giving tips. But this forced way is counterproductive and not the way you to do this.

We are a family of two young children. The location of this hotel was excellent as were the staff — they couldn’t be kinder or more accommodating! It was easy to walk to the center, shopping, etc. The only two improvements I would suggest are a 1. A different scent for the lobby — I personally found the scent a bit synthetic and strong, and 2. a new toilet seat for our bathroom. Apart from those two small improvements, I would 10000% stay here again and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to be treated with wonderful Italian hospitality in an upscale setting.

We booked the Supreme Room with Terrace (#606). It was spacious, with a big bathroom and a big terrace. This room doesn't have a view from terrace as it is blocked by a high wall serving as a guardrail. But that was ok for us - we spent most of the time out and about and not in the room. The room is super clean and super quiet, cleaning staff come in every day. Bed and pillows are firm and super comfortable. The bedsheets new and crisp. The location is perfect – out of the center and as a result super quiet, but at the same time – only a few minutes’ walk away from the hustle and bustle. We also used taxis at night to go to and back from restaurants. Parking – make sure you reserve ahead of time, it’s valet and 36 EUR per night. Restaurant - we also had dinner at the hotel one of the evenings, the food and the service were amazing.

The one negative – I don’t understand why you use duvet sheets and not a duvet cover. I had to watch out the entire evening not to land on the actual duvet, which of course is not washed and cleaned on a regular basis. I think duvet covers are so much more hygienic.

We only spent one night at the melia. We had a nice room but it was smaller than it looked on the pictures. The staff were really helpful and efficient. The hotel itself is lovely and it's in a nice area. There was lots of choice for breakfast. We would definitely come back and for more than one night next time.

There wasn't anything not to like.

I didn't like that there was not parking (except valet) available. That isn't the hotel's fault - parking anywhere in Genoa is almost impossible. I'm just grateful that they had valet, honestly.

Loved the location(easy walk into the center of town) and the views from our 6th floor room. The room was functional, spacious and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was yummy . The star attraction and why we will return, was the kind and helpful staff. Everyone who works at the hotel that you encounter is just so kind and helpful. Kudos to the hospitality team you elevated our stay at the hotel! Cannot wait to return!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and I must say the service was exceptional from start to finish. Upon arrival, I was delighted to find that the staff went above and beyond by personally picking up my car from the entrance and taking care of the parking. This level of service immediately set a positive tone for my stay. The staff's training was evident in their professionalism and attentiveness. They were not only courteous but also incredibly helpful and accommodating in every possible way. As a pet owner, I was particularly impressed by their thoughtfulness towards my dog. They promptly brought a plate for her, ensuring she was comfortable and well taken care of. This hotel truly understands the importance of guest satisfaction and pet-friendly amenities, making my stay not only comfortable but also memorable. I highly recommend this hotel for its outstanding service and welcoming atmosphere.

The pool is small but the arrangement is that it can be used privately on an hourly basis. The breakfast is very well manned, fresh coffee is provided (up to the italian standard), and the continental breakfast has a good enough variety provided.

The restaurant itself is not the main business of this hotel (so it seems), and it felt that it is run as a secondary importance. However, we always felt well treated and from the limited amount of options on the menu we ate well.

Location was great, just a short walk to the main square. Room was spacious and clean and the welcome fruit and chocolate plate was really cute as well as the little kids gift, our son was very happy with that.

Extra charge to use the spa facilities, we didn’t use them in the end but may have done if they were free. Seems like quite an unnecessary expense for guests who are already paying to stay at the hotel. Breakfast was ok nothing I would shout about, the dining room was very dark and smelt like cigarettes.

I never really leave reviews. But feel like I have to for this one. This hotel in every way was one of the best hotel I’ve stayed at. Very helpful with recommending us where to go in or near Genova. Breakfast was amazing and high quality. The pool which you have to book was actually a great feature because you have the whole area to yourself when booked in. The gym was enough to get a good workout done. The location is perfect to get into the city and to be away from it all at the same time. Can’t recommend it more. I left so much out.
