We stayed here on 3 separate occasions and experienced 3 different rooms. We were upgraded to a deluxe room on one occasion. Each room had a comfortable double bed with an additional single bed. Each room had a fridge, microwave, kettle, tea, coffee and milk. Plates, bowls, glasses and dishwashing supplies. One room didn’t have a kitchen sink, but we just used the bathroom basin. Nice large rooms, some are freshly painted with new carpet. 50m from the water front for nice morning walks, with cafes not too far away. Great stay with very friendly staff.

This is a traditional Motel which brought back many memories from the past. The room was clean and comfortable with good provision for access to our luggage. The parking was outside our door, and the friendly hosts are the owners and were never far away. Tina was wonderful with her helpful tips and suggestions.

The little kitchenette had no cooking facilities or toaster - although this was explained as not being allowed. Our room was close to the laundry and another guest was washing something that must have had metal bits as it clattered loudly right on bedtime. Maybe restrict laundry hours when guests are staying in Room 3?

the room was older in style but clean and comfortable , the bed was very comfortable which is always my most important criteria , it doesn't matter if the decor is a bit dated as long as you can get a decent nights sleep. Had everything we needed except a toaster but they provide a kitchen barbecue area a short distance away so you can use the toaster there so it was not an issue . w

we could here the noise from our neighbours a bit and a bit of a banking noise from the pipes but not really a deal breaker , if you are looking for a good budget option this will be fine

Location was absolutely amazing. Close to shops, the freeway and the beautiful bay.

We originally booked a room with two beds. When we turned up, we were booked in with only one bed and the motel was full. Tina had to change us around with another visitor. This would’ve been disastrous for us to share a bed as I was travelling with a client for work. I would also prompt Management to put a sign up on the inside of our doors, asking visitors to be mindful of talking in the motel outside arena early in the morning as it is such a small space and we didn’t have the chance to sleep in past 6:30am.

Room 8 was more spacious than we expected. Plenty of room to place suitcases etc. Beds super comfy, shower plenty of hot water with good pressure. The location was good and very close to the waterfront which was perfect for a morning walk. The owner/managers were accommodating as we requested a slightly later check out as we were attending a funeral

The only issue we could identify was that the window in the room & bathroom did not have a "lock". The bathroom window had a piece of timber as the security measure

We flew into Brisbane early in the day. We got to the hotel at 10:00 AM, well before check-in time. We were allowed to leave our bags at the office until they could get our room ready. We walked a block down to the bay, a lovely area. We got into the room before noon, well before the published check in time. This was well appreciated as we had been up for over 30 hours, traveling from the states to Australia. The area is very clean and safe. We found a great little Indian restaurant within walking distance and had a wonderful meal there. The people who run the motel were very nice and accommodating to us. The rooms were simple and dated but were clean and well cared for. I would definitely stay there again.

I wish there had been more of a selection of shops and restaurants in the immediate area. Also, the water in the pool was too cold for our tastes.

Tina was so accommodating with catering for me and my 6 berth campervan. Beautiful spot so close to walks along Morton Bay and a short drive to shops and the market on Saturday. Great old bones of a 60s motel. Super comfy bed. Will definitely stay again and again. Thanks Tina and Des.

Young neighbour who had his car running for 20mins at 6.30 on Sunday morning! Oh the youth of today.

Very close to the venue we needed to be near. Good size room and very clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Loved that we were at last room so only one other room next to us, although they were noisy. Very close to water/boulevard, shops, cafes and parks. We used a voucher provided at local Indian Restaurant, which was a great meal.

A toaster would have been handy for breakfast. Very hot weather and air con stopped working. Staff were able to rectify without much delay.

Although obviously built a little while ago, our room was very clean and comfortable (to be honest, it put some of the newer places in Brisbane city and around Qld that we have stayed at to shame ,with what was supplied in the room to, and most importantly for me, cleanliness!!). Whilst only booked as a standard motel room, it was very well equiped with: small fridge, microwave, a full range of crockery & cutlery, cork screw, ice cube tray, nice hot showers, and more. The managers were friendly, helpful and down to earth. We had stayed here previously and will certainly stay here again and will definitely recommend The Wynnum Anchor Motel to others !!

Nothing really, but if I had to say something it would be the bathroom was a little chilly. (Winter). Whilst main room had reverse cycle air con, bathroom had an exhaust fan attached to the light & small .permanent screened opening above the window. But again, common in motel bathrooms.

The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy, the showers have a lot of pressure and were lovely. BBQ area was a nice idea, to be able to cook meals there was really convenient, especially travelling with kids - it was just simple to be able to cook on that instead of having take away.

There was no toaster but that’s pretty much it, we were happy
