The staff and hotel are lovely. We had rooms on the 6th floor and the view was beautiful, the beds were comfortable and clean. I love the staff at this hotel and there was a lovely breakfast buffet. But, the biggest highlight was the spa and the Thai massage specialist. I went in with a sore aching back and walked out feeling brand new, if you stay here you MUST have a Thai massage from the spa, you won’t regret it.

I visited this hotel in 2017 when it was new, back then it was gorgeous and luxurious, unfortunately the property has lost some of its original grandeur a bit of TLC and some fresh paint are needed here and there.

The hotel is “THE GRAND KANDYAN”. I felt as if I walked into one of the hotels in Las Vegas. Beautiful architecture in the lobby and the rooms were beautiful and very spacious! Kudos to the architects! Service was also very Grand! From the staff at the front desk to the room service- all were very polite, well mannered and spoke good English and Sinhala. It might as well be “The Ritz” of Kandy!

There were few power cuts on again off again might be due to the weather/storm. I cant blame that on the hotel administration but wish it didnt happen.

Amazing views from the pool and rooftop bar. The staff were very friendly and hospitable. Well-equipped gym, compared to other hotels. We enjoyed the arrack-sour cocktails 😎 Spacious rooms. Good selection at the buffet. Overall, it felt more like an authentic Sri Lankan hotel, compared to some of the international chain hotels.

Egg-hopper service was sometimes a bit slow.

A regal hotel with wonderful features. Breakfast was one of the best of our trip, plenty of choice. Staff was very nice, especially Hillary, who definitely deserves to be mentioned. I liked that the staff undergoing training had a little badge saying "I'm trying", and indeed it was nice to see some young guys trying their best. Overall I would stay again, we had different types of stay during our trip and we were happy to go for this type of accommodation in Kandy.

It's not perfect, some bits look tired, overall in need of some tlc and maintenance and room had a smell of damp difficult to get rid of. Dinner was not as good as breakfast but still decent.

I was given a room that was extremely small - unlike what i had paid for and what was shown on booking.com. Mine was a single occupancy room and my parents had a double occupancy room. As per booking.com, both rooms were of the same size and had the same view. My room had no view except garbage cans-despite booking.com advertising mountain view and landmark view. My parents room had a vie of the mountain and Buddha landmark. Hotel thought they could get away with it. Pls note that i have paid almost the same fare for my room and my parents room. I protested and eventually got a room almost like what was advertised. Be careful while booking a room here. Hotel can try pull a fast one.

Grand Kandyan Hotel is a luxurious getaway a few minutes from Kandy city centre. The hotel features a lovely interior and offers a stunning panoramic view of Kandy city, the mountains, and the surrounding greenery. I found the hotel to be very welcoming. The room was spacious and clean with comfortable beds and all the necessary amenities. There was a wide variety of local and international options available at the breakfast and dinner buffets. The restaurant provided a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan options, and the staff was extremely helpful. The check-in and check-out were seamless, and the reception staff were great. Our overall experience was very positive and we would definitely recommend this hotel to those in need of a well-deserved break.

The hotel is wonderful, and you step into luxury. It's completely worth the price! The room is decorated beautifully, everything was clean, and all facilities were provided. Bed was soo comfortable. The room came with a beautiful bathtub, and the toilet was clean and nice. We ended up staying an extra night! It was that wonderful. They also arranged live music in the hotel, which was wonderful. There are direction boards on the road, so hotel is easy to spot as well. The hotel has a rooftop bar and 2 restaurants. All in all, wonderful, our favourite stay from our entire trip.

Bathroom taps could've been cleaner, but not hard to ignore. Everything else was really clean.

This is an exceptional hotel. We had the most wonderful stay here. The staff were super friendly and attended to our every need. The hotel has beautiful interiors and our room was supremely well furnished with everything that we needed. There were lovely mountain views. The breakfast was delicious with every taste catered for in an excellent buffet. We booked a transfer from Colombo Airport and to Galle. The transport was comfortable and punctual. There were nice touches for Christmas and the entertainment in the evening was most welcome. We would definitely use this hotel for any return to Kandy. Highly recommended. Thank you so much for a memorable stay!

Our three-night stay at the Grand Kandyan Hotel in December was nothing short of extraordinary. The presidential suite exceeded our expectations – impeccably clean and well-maintained. From the welcoming ambiance upon entering to the friendly and helpful staff, every moment was a delight. The team's unwavering assistance made our stay exceptionally comfortable. The breathtaking view of the Kandy hills added a magical touch to our experience. To top it off, the delicious buffet offerings at Tamarind was a culinary delight and really enhanced our experience at the hotel. We're grateful to the entire team for helping us create such wonderful memories here in Kandy, and we are excited to return one day. Without hesitation, we highly recommend the Grand Kandyan Hotel to anyone seeking a delightful stay in Kandy.

A modern room with a comfortable bed. Very spacious. Breakfast was very good! The room view was average. But in general Hotel has a very good view! Sadly the restaurant view is not the best. But from the hotel Lobby and some rooms you can see a good view. Maybe you have to ask for a room with a better view. Receptionists and stewards are friendly.

The security was not the most friendliest guy (Probably I didn't arrive in a car, but in a tuktuk)
