Room was toasty and comfy if not a little compact, there didn't seem to be excessive noise from other rooms. The staff were friendly and breakfast was Superb, with Gluten free options.

We room is compact and we requested a bath if possible, we were informed this wasn't possible the day before arrival, though the option may be possible through an additional cost and upgrade . We stuck with the sea view and my gut feeling was depending on how much more the upgrade would have costed we probably could of got a larger room with a sea view and a bath and possibly a balcony for a similar cost.

Everything was superb. From a fabulous welcome at check in, super attentive at the evening meal, great evening meal and wonderful breakfast with good coffee and high quality ingredients. The ambience is wonderful and all other guests were very friendly which I believe is down to how very welcome the staff make Everyone feel. I was travelling alone for work, my single bedroom with a sea view was very spacious, the bed was comfortable and I slept well. Leonardos ( I hope I have recalled the name correctly) is a real asset and is very professional. I wished I could have stayed longer

Entrance to hotel for residents down alley past dustbins. Lovely view from bedroom of umbrellas, candles, flowers and fairy lights now a sea of corrugated plastic and cheap wooden pillars covered in plastic ivy. Apparently no longer a four star hotel. Is now a bed and breakfast facility which does not include daily room service. This is fine but should be made clear on the website. As usual the lovely staff made up for all this and I shall continue to visit regularly.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Dukes. Excellent service both at breakfast and dinner. Good selection of breakfast and evening meal. Didn’t eat lunchtime so can’t comment on the menu. .All the staff were friendly and helpful. The bedding was nice & clean.

The television signal was not very good at all , good if you wanted to watch itv but all the other channels were unwatchable as the picture was braking up all the time. To get onto the WiFi you had to put your email address in and tick a box to say you would like to receive communication by email, it was free if you were happy to tick the box, but so it should be . I didn’t want to so I had no WiFi but used my iPhone hotspot to use my iPad.

Lovely location and easy to walk around town being on the sea front. Limited parking spaces available beside the inn. Great ambience inside, staff were very hospitable. Delicious breakfast, thank you.

Noisy neighboring bedroom occupants who talked loudly from 2am to 6am, so loud that it woke me for that time. Doors slamming etc. Nothing at all peaceful for sleeping!! I thought they were inconsiderate and oblivious to the volume of their party voices and frequent opening, shutting door beside mine.

Breakfast was lovely, a good choice of well cooked food and staff were really friendly and welcoming. Times were just right - not too early!room was really comfortable and had a super view. Dinner was very nice and good value.

There did not seem to be anywhere to sit and have a drink in the evening. I felt I was taking up a table that was wanted for diners so only had one drink and then left. When I returned to the Duke during the day, the gate was shut and I had to wait in a queue to get access to the Inn. Negotiating the above situations can make a lone traveller feel uncomfortable.

The staff were really welcoming and attentive . My room with a sea view was small but clean and modern . The location is great for the town and beach . The breakfast was really nice with lots to choose from.

If I had to give a negative I’d say my pillows were too hard which gave me a sore neck both mornings. Also , the hotel has a big outdoor seating area at the front of the property which got quite noisy in the evening so may be a problem in the summer when you want your window open.

Staff were all so friendly , efficient , professional and welcoming .Rooms were perfect , lovely temperature ,comfortable .Lots of extras like coffee machine , tea , coffee ,biscuits and umbrella in room .Outside eating area had blankets and hot water bottles that staff regularly refreshed .Breakfast was excellent .Plenty of choice and good quality food well presented .Location great with the ocean and the shops right outside .Even had free parking right outside . Would throughly recommend this lovely hotel .

Very well located in Sidmouth, all the team were excellent. They accommodated our bikes and made sure they were secure. But special mention to the breakfast manager who really went the extra mile to look after us, he was an absolute legend, bringing us warm pastries straight out the oven and supplying to tape for the bikes. A brilliant ambassador for the hotel.

My shower head kept drooping, so needed a new part. not a fan of foam mattress but that might be a personal thing.

I had such an amazing time at the Dukes Inn: it was really easy to find, and checking in was efficient and the member of staff was very welcoming. My room was ready before the time they had advised and I was allowed to go in already. The location is brilliant! My room was small, but extremely clean and comfortable. It was also so so quiet and I really appreciated the calm. Breakfast was plentiful and very nice every day. I had the roast on a Sunday (you need to book) and again, it was very nice. All the members of staff were incredibly nice: very attentive to every customers' needs. They were all very helpful and went out of their way to make my stay, and other customers' stay the best they could. I genuinely had an excellent stay at the Dukes Inn and went I went home, I told my other half we'll have to go back together. I really appreciated their customer service skills and their kindness. Thank you again so much to all for making my stay so incredibly pleasant!

There is absolutely nothing I didn't like at the Dukes Inn: everything was perfect for me!
