Lovely, clean room with nice decor and comfortable bed.

I arrived at the hotel at 2pm to try and drop my bag and collect a key. I was attending the Margate Soul Festival and knew I’d be back very late. The hotel was locked so I called the number from the website. I was abrubtly told that check in was at 4pm and I’d be charged £5 to drop my bag. After paying £175 for one night I thought this was very steep! I had to really beg the owner to let me collect a key and was made to feel pretty awful in the process. Finally I was allowed to drop my things and collect a key and I left immediately. Personally I think when running a hotel you need to allow a little flexibility. The shower in the morning was scorching hot too!

We did a self check in, which worked after 5 attempts (probably my fat fingers) The room was absolutely stunning. Harbour view (room 24), absolutely gorgeous bed linen, super comfy beds, impeccably clean and USB ports by the plugs. TV in the bath too - I mean, what more could you wish for. BRILLIANT. The only issue was we had some very exuberant 'active' people above us who 'exercised' all night, loudly.

Soundproofing between floors. The building is beautiful and old and we had some particularly active neighbours - I am sure normally this would not be an issue. Cold bathroom

All electrics worked well, plus easy onto WiFi & TV. Bathroom clean & water flowed away without pooling in shower, so good. Room clean. Basic tea/coffee kettle facility ok. Although the traditional metal bed frame supported in middle underneath looked fragile, the mattress & bedding were clean & comfortable. I liked the style of many classic pictures & books, but may not be to everyone’s taste. The 3/4 separate sitting rooms downstairs with music & TV & many books & pictures with self serve tea & coffee 24/7 facility, nice for solo travellers or mature couples. Not really a place for children under 8 yrs.

The wood lined walls with feel of being in a cabin may have a cosy feel for some, & matched the look of some of the pictures, some guests staying may not like quite so much, as small room. The view was half walled garden, but mostly street view, houses. Perhaps time for the armchair to have a new cover. The parking directly outside property possible, didn’t have too much trouble with this, but may have to wait for a car to leave for a space, or a space big enough, as people park there to use local restaurants, bars in town. Recommend arrive as early as possible in aft/early eve, rather than later in evening, for easier parking & entry to hotel. If arrive late eve, & no one hears doorbell ring, look along for basement door of hotel for owner/staff contact.

Amazing location. Everything on the doorstep and wonderful view from the bedroom. Door code given so no need to have a key and could keep ourselves to ourselves. Parking- couldn’t use the hotel car park as full but two mins walk away was a multi-storey car park that was under £10 for 24hours so we used that. Room was small but still lovely and had everything we needed. A really pretty well maintained property.

Pillows were very soft and the duvet was exceptionally thick but the bed was comfortable and I still slept, just a bit hot. Wouldn’t stop me from returning. Maybe a couple of bottles of water with the tea making facilities, I used the tap in the bathroom and it tasted weird so maybe wasn’t drinking water!

I booked in and the man on the Reception was brilliant he made me feel safe, he was approachable and gave me all the info I needed in a personalised way. Very professional indeed. I liked the way it felt like a home, the décor was real Victorian splendour! Top marks!

Dare I say the owner was not as approachable, however he did let me stay for 4 hours more (at a cost) as I was not capable of driving back due to reasons of excess. This was very much appreciated! All in all nothing negative I would return.

Basically, I booked the cheapest thing I could find as I was just there to keep an eye on my teens, who were staying round the corner. & it was half the price of the next nearest (travelodge). So I was expecting it to be a bit shabby and depressing, to be honest. But it wasn't that at all. It was really charming, very small, yes, but full of thoughtful touches and a cute interior.

Nothing!

Spacious room. Great location. Lots of communal spaces.

It was a bit odd to find the front door locked and no doorbell to ring. We had arrived early; as traffic wasn't so busy. We rang the number on the sign and was told no access until 4pm. Then, the room would be available. We had booked a car parking spot and asked if we could park there, and visit the town. The reception said that was ok. We just found it a bit odd not to get access into the hotel to ask about the car parking directly.

We had a quadruple room for 3 of us & took our dog Staff were very helpful & friendly! Got parked right outside the front at 4pm, paid for 2 hours & then free form 6pm until 9am the next morning Nice size room, warm, comfy double bed Great location right up on the harbour, but away from the noise of the pubs...perfect!

Bunk beds weren't as comfy as maybe they could be Room was clean, but there was a tissue still under the bunk bed that was just missed in the clean. Not a problem though, our dog retrieved it No breakfast included, so we went to the little ships restaurant instead with a limited menu options.

The mattress and pillows.. Choice of decor.

We were in the second part of the hotel. It might have been better if in main building. No tea bags in the room. £200 is a dreadful amount of money to spend on what turned out to be a small room. Complementary breakfast or something should have been part of the extra experience. We also spent a lot of money in the Little Ship. We had a wonderful meal but again I just feel this is all too business like rather than the sense of hospitality I have experienced elsewhere.

Lovely location. Very scenic, and lots of places to eat in the area. Lovely old building.

The weather was very hot, consequently the position of the room made it uncomfortably hot and and hard to sleep. Parking was terrible. I had to park a very long way away and walk but had to ve out again by 9 am to get a ticket. No breakfast served
