The Guest House is an easy ten minute walk from the walled town, so a good location. The owners are very pleasant friendly and helpful. Everywhere is spotlessly clean, bedlinen is on superb quality. The breakfast is exceptional, made from well-sourced supplies and expertly cooked. The tv is of god size and quality, and the wifi works well and has a better level of security than often found in such places.
The room has had a small (vitally necessary) shower room constructed, which has left the room rather small, but not really cramped. The bed was on the small side, but I am above average height. The roadway to the ample car park at the rear of the property is quite steep but not difficult, a driver lacking confidence should aim for one of the 2 parking spaces on the road.

The breakfast was exceptional cooked fresh to order and the local ingredients were delicious 😋 nothing was too much trouble lovely friendly hosts. The room was spotless and very comfy we had tea and coffee making facilities with biscuits replenished daily.
The stairs were an issue especially if you have mobility issues. I found the location wasn’t central and you have to walk under an underpass back to the property in the daytime this isn’t a problem but at night it may be if you are by yourself however I will say it was well lit. the walk is approx 10/15 mins from the town centre.

The location is definitely an assett: 10 min stroll to conwy center, just between town and countryside. Bodnant is only 10 min by car. No need to drive through Conwy is you are heading towards Betws Y Coed / Porthmadog. Quiet at night. The road is not too busy, no fast traffic. Bryn Derwen is one of only 2 houses not directly built on the edge of the road, there is a rather big garden separating house and road which allows even more serenity. Perfectly clean house, well equiped. Perfect breakfast, nice landlady, perfect beds, cosy rooms, coffee / tea facilities in each romms with biscuits, perfect bathroom / bath-shower... This was my 6th stay at Bryn Derwen in 36 years. 3rd owner. Always improvement. We had room 7, top floor, facing street. You can see Conwy city wall on the pictures.
This is definitely NOT something that I personally disliked, but "some" might have trouble with the stairs leading from road to house or from entrance to rooms. And the ramp to the upper parking is steep, BUT ! ==> the owners make this perfecty clear in their description, meaning: this is something you know before making a choice. So this is definitely NOT a minus point, only a particularity which travelers would take into account. Note that there are a few parking spots on the edge of the road is you have trouble climbing the ramp.

The cooked and non-cooked breakfasts were excellent. I had poached eggs, which I adore, and they were done perfectly. Brown toast was granary and delicious. Tea was good and plenty of cold drinks were on offer too - my partner doesn't drink hot beverages. I am a vegetarian, and there was an excellent choice of foods, including fresh fruit. My partner eats meat, and he was very happily catered to. The room we chose was at the top of the house, but that made it quieter, and the views were excellent. It was a particularly hot weekend, but there was a fan, and we brought our own too! There were fridges on each landing. The ensuite was huge and immaculate. Because it is a guest house, the bedroom was cleaned, and the bed was made while we were out each day. Perfect. We walked everywhere, although I used a wheelchair to walk around the gardens.
There was nothing that we didn't like!

I booked this place last minute for a hike I had at Dinorwic Quarrey - I was really pleasantly surprised by the single occupancy rooms, they had a double bed, en-suite bathroom and was decorated in a really homely and cosy way. Mine was room 8 which had a view of the hills and cows which I liked. The Bed and Breakfast owners were really kind and lovely and made my breakfast for me early because I had to leave earlier for a booked hike. The full English veggie breakfast was hot and tasty. The car park is on a slightly steep hill, but it’s a short hill, you could also park just outside and take the steps up. Would book again if I had a hike in the surrounding area.
Maybe the bathroom is quite small for the single occupancy room but it’s also meant to be for 1 person so I’m not complaining.

This is the fourth time we have been to this B&B as we find Andrew & Gill excellent hosts. Nothing is too much trouble; their knowledge of the area helps with you deciding what to do each day. Breakfasts are second to none! Rooms generous and you have everything you need and more. Only a short walk into Conwy.
There's nothing that we don't like. As I say this is the fourth time we have been and no doubt will be returning next year! If I'm pushed I would say that the house is on a steep hill so it's not suitable for travellers with mobility issues but then it states that on the website 🤷♀️.

The location is ideal for Conway and travelling to Holyhead (my reason). Andrew and Gill are very obliging, welcoming and outstanding hosts. The room was impeccably clean and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. I wish I had time for the full Welsh breakfast but the scrambled eggs on toast was very good. This is the best example of an 'old school' type guest house which is becoming rarer and rarer. Heartily recommend and will be back.
Nothing negative to say at all.

My friend and I traveled to Conwy for hiking and sightseeing, and we were absolutely fascinated by our stay at Bryn Derwen — it was one of the best experiences ever! Let me just list all the things we found amazing: - the mountain view from our first-floor room (the guest house is situated on a hill), - the cleanliness of the room, the bathroom, and all the other facilities; the house is also pretty and beautifully decorated, - the hosts, who are very nice and helpful, - the breakfasts! They offer different options, and all of them are freshly cooked for you by the host, - the little things, like fresh milk, all the toiletries that you might need, and the hosts' eagerness to meet your needs and provide tips. Thank you for such an enjoyable experience!
Nope, nothing to write here, it is perfect as it is :)

We had a fabulous stay in Andrew and Gill’s beautiful manor home. The location is excellent, with a stunning view and just a 10 min walk to the heart of Conwy, and the hospitality was second to none. Andrew and Gill were so welcoming and gave lots of great tips and recommendations. The breakfast was exceptional!! Highly recommend - we would love to come back.
A minor point of personal preference m, but I’ve noticed when staying in British accommodation that it is rare for bedding to have a top sheet. The pillows also didn’t have a protective casing - just the one pillowcase exposing the pillow underneath. I find this a bit uncomfortable and not as hygienic/breathable as I would like, although I can’t fault the cleanliness of the place overall.

Bryn Derwen is located just outside the town walls and thereby easy to walk into the centre. The owners were very hospitable. We had a top floor room which was spacious, comfortable and with a well-equipped bathroom and a lovely view out of the window.
We knew from the details that Bryn Derwen's house was built on a hill and you needed to access the car park at the back by driving up a fairly steep hill. Driving back down unfortunately was tricky at the bottom because of the level of the bottom of the drive and the car's front bumper did get scraped. After that, we parked in one of the two spaces at the front of the property. Be aware that there are a number of steps to climb up to the property.
