Great stay in the heart of Conwy The Castle Hotel is a wonderful place to stay. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and always willing to accommodate any request. The rooms have that charming, traditional English style, but with the bonus of fully renovated bathrooms, which is a real plus. The location could not be better – right in the center of Conwy, surrounded by plenty of restaurants and shops.

The only small downside is that it can get a bit noisy at night when people are out on the streets, especially after a few drinks. Other than that, everything was excellent.

The hotel and the room were excellent and fully 4*. The in room provisions were good and the bed was comfortable. Loved the decor and the antique furniture in the corridors. Very pet friendly and a great welcome on arrival.

Here is the big problem. the dining room experience was quite bad. It’s really not on to have to eat dinner next to uncleared tables and to look at a half cleared table with a bottle pink cleaning spray on it. This isn’t consistent with the standards in the rest of the hotel and urgently needs sorting. Having asked for the table next to us to be cleared we were then subjected to the flying aerosol effect of the cleaning fluid and indeed were still left with dirty napkins and food debris on the floor.

The hotel's position in the centre of Conwy was excellent, with plenty of parking. Our room was very welcoming, even to a radio playing softly when we arrived. The toiletries were top notch, and the bathroom itself had faint automatic lighting at night time, which I very much liked. Our evening meal was delicious, though be warned, the smaller plates really are. All of the staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful. The hotel is apparently soon undergoing a refurb.

The car park behind the hotel was accessed through an archway, and larger cars might struggle, though other parking is available. There is no lift, so if you have any mobility issues, ask for a room on the lower floor. The Continental breakfast was, in my opinion, rather lacking, with no meat, cheese, eggs or crushed tomato, and the milky item with oats in was possibly a cold porridge.

The interior of the hotel was well maintained and matched the era of the building. Our room was spacious, clean and well equipped with twin beds, 2 armchairs and a coffee table. A large tv was on the wall above a good size dressing table. Plenty of wardrobe space, but a lack of drawers for smaller items of clothing. There was a reasonable selection of tea and coffee, including a coffee pod machine. The bathroom was very clean and spacious with toiletries. Could do with an extra shelf or small table.

Could do with some hooks for hanging outdoor coats, not in the wardrobe! Mattress was a bit hard for us, maybe time for replacing, but we did have a decent night's sleep non the less. Don't like using toiletries from a large bottle that have obviously been used by others. There was minimal information in the room ( about the hotel), instead we were expected to take a screen shot of a bar code. Neither one of us is able to do this, so we couldn't access any information.

The property was so lovely, traditional and cosy , all the staff were friendly and efficient. We stayed in a superior double room, the room was beautiful, spotlessly clean, and well thought out. Bed very big and comfortable! Parking was so easy, we parked in the small car park across the road from the hotel, but there was also plenty of spaces directly outside or in the car park at the rear. We ate dinner at the hotel on our second night, the lady who served us deserves a special mention for her energy and efficiency, she had long dark hair, but we didn’t catch her name. We will definitely return to this hotel again, we enjoyed our stay so much. Thank you Castle Hotel!

Nothing !!

Great central location in the centre so close proximity to the independent shops, a five minute walk to the Castle snd pretty Quay. Bonus is free hotel allocated parking in the historic town. Restaurant food was very good and service by friendly, approachable staff enhanced the stay. Gemma was particularly helpful even when busy. Breakfast was relaxed and plenty of choice on the self service buffet with four or five cooked options to order. We enjoyed a homemade afternoon tea that was delicious. The ambience of the hotel ensures you feel very relaxed and safe whilst there. A historical tradional hotel with clean modern facilities.

Nothing not to like here ..... However we did think the restaurant decor was very dark and could be lighter and brighter as not much natural/artificial lighting, but that is more about personal preference and taste!

Everyone was so friendly. The facilities were excellent. They aren't just pet friendly they are so welcoming for your furry friend! It's just a wonderful place to stay, exceeding all our expectations.

The only tricky bit is the continental breakfast is in the restaurant which doesn't allow dogs, so for a solo traveller with a dog it is awkward to access, however the staff did offer to fetch things in assistance of this, and the cooked breakfast is ordered at your table so it is only really getting juice and toast etc that is tricky.

Lovely period features, modern renovated rooms but still in keeping, cosy, lovely little touches like tissues, water, radio, toiletries, games, books etc - very thoughtful to the visitor. Breakfast was delicious using tasty quality goods, staff excellent in being attentive and serving us endless coffee. This service was repeated throughout our stay with nothing too much trouble. Also had an evening meal which was simply delicious to celebrate a family birthday, so extra touch of free meal very welcomed. Car parking availability was good, bar and choice of drinks just right.

Nothing - everything was perfect and the staff made it a wonderful weekend break!

Fabulous staff, made is so welcome with our dogs. Breakfast is excellent with the nice touch when they brought the 2 dogs small pans of sausage for them to not feel left out. Wonderfully in the centre. Hotel parking. When I have been to Conway in the past, it's been so busy that going in January was very pleasant and could easily get in the pubs. We went with friends they stayed in room on the first floor the room they had was bigger with a bay window. Maybe it's worth asking for the room that sticks out over the front door. They have dog friendly rooms that welcome the dogs with bowls and blankets.

The only negative was it's was a bit too hot in the bedroom. We did lower the radiator, but the towel rail in the bathroom gave a lot of heat.
