Our stay at the Castle Hotel overall was fantastic. The staff were amazing, particularly Danny who, after we failed to get an Uber and taxi to our meal, gave us a lift there and even recommend staff he knows there to speak to… what an absolute hero! Also, Daniela who was so welcoming, warm and friendly, remembered our room number after our first conversation… give the pair of them a pay rise! The moment we arrived from our 2 and a half hour drive, we went outside for a drink, taking in stunning views of the castle and church from the beer garden. Instantly felt relaxed.
My only grumble was although the room was lovely, it was unbelievably hot as it has the run on it all day and only a very small window… had to request a second fan but that didn’t help. My Mrs only issue was the breakfast; the pastries were stale and she had a bad egg, which put her off for the rest of the week. However, I loved every breakfast I had there. Overall a lovely hotel, really friendly and helpful staff and we would definitely stay there again!

Great stay in the heart of Conwy The Castle Hotel is a wonderful place to stay. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and always willing to accommodate any request. The rooms have that charming, traditional English style, but with the bonus of fully renovated bathrooms, which is a real plus. The location could not be better – right in the center of Conwy, surrounded by plenty of restaurants and shops.
The only small downside is that it can get a bit noisy at night when people are out on the streets, especially after a few drinks. Other than that, everything was excellent.

Excellent location within Conway walls/shops, easily walkable to the castle. Car parking within the hotel ground was good. Check-in was simple and friendly. We booked a room with double bed, and were delighted when the double bed was bigger than a super king ! Although the windows were single glazed (period property of course...), it was nice the heating was on all the time keeping us warm and 'toasty'.
Perhaps a little more attention to detail with room cleaning would be good - although not a major issue... The restaurant was not busy when we arrived on time for our evening meal, but a later arrival (who self confessed at being one hour early for their booking) were actually attended to and served before us.... We felt that 'overseas' guests were given preferential treatment sadly.. However, waiting staff were courteous and friendly when we were served.

Staff were very attentive and friendly. The hotel is old and it has that slightly musty, creaky feel to it. It's part of the charm but be aware this isn't a modern hotel. The room was lovely overall, with good facilities. The hotel was very busy when we were there - a coach of American tourists - but it didn't feel noisy or busy, which was nice. The breakfast was very good. The hotel is also ideally located for a walk around Conwy. Everything is a short distance away by foot and you are on the main shopping street.
Beware that the parking for the hotel is via a very narrow passageway (we missed it the first time round) and wider cars have clearly scraped the walls. Also, there is a church behind the hotel that chimes every 15 minutes and on the hour, so light sleepers may not appreciate this.

The hotel and the room were excellent and fully 4*. The in room provisions were good and the bed was comfortable. Loved the decor and the antique furniture in the corridors. Very pet friendly and a great welcome on arrival.
Here is the big problem. the dining room experience was quite bad. It’s really not on to have to eat dinner next to uncleared tables and to look at a half cleared table with a bottle pink cleaning spray on it. This isn’t consistent with the standards in the rest of the hotel and urgently needs sorting. Having asked for the table next to us to be cleared we were then subjected to the flying aerosol effect of the cleaning fluid and indeed were still left with dirty napkins and food debris on the floor.

The hotel's position in the centre of Conwy was excellent, with plenty of parking. Our room was very welcoming, even to a radio playing softly when we arrived. The toiletries were top notch, and the bathroom itself had faint automatic lighting at night time, which I very much liked. Our evening meal was delicious, though be warned, the smaller plates really are. All of the staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful. The hotel is apparently soon undergoing a refurb.
The car park behind the hotel was accessed through an archway, and larger cars might struggle, though other parking is available. There is no lift, so if you have any mobility issues, ask for a room on the lower floor. The Continental breakfast was, in my opinion, rather lacking, with no meat, cheese, eggs or crushed tomato, and the milky item with oats in was possibly a cold porridge.

The interior of the hotel was well maintained and matched the era of the building. Our room was spacious, clean and well equipped with twin beds, 2 armchairs and a coffee table. A large tv was on the wall above a good size dressing table. Plenty of wardrobe space, but a lack of drawers for smaller items of clothing. There was a reasonable selection of tea and coffee, including a coffee pod machine. The bathroom was very clean and spacious with toiletries. Could do with an extra shelf or small table.
Could do with some hooks for hanging outdoor coats, not in the wardrobe! Mattress was a bit hard for us, maybe time for replacing, but we did have a decent night's sleep non the less. Don't like using toiletries from a large bottle that have obviously been used by others. There was minimal information in the room ( about the hotel), instead we were expected to take a screen shot of a bar code. Neither one of us is able to do this, so we couldn't access any information.

The property was so lovely, traditional and cosy , all the staff were friendly and efficient. We stayed in a superior double room, the room was beautiful, spotlessly clean, and well thought out. Bed very big and comfortable! Parking was so easy, we parked in the small car park across the road from the hotel, but there was also plenty of spaces directly outside or in the car park at the rear. We ate dinner at the hotel on our second night, the lady who served us deserves a special mention for her energy and efficiency, she had long dark hair, but we didn’t catch her name. We will definitely return to this hotel again, we enjoyed our stay so much. Thank you Castle Hotel!

Great central location in the centre so close proximity to the independent shops, a five minute walk to the Castle snd pretty Quay. Bonus is free hotel allocated parking in the historic town. Restaurant food was very good and service by friendly, approachable staff enhanced the stay. Gemma was particularly helpful even when busy. Breakfast was relaxed and plenty of choice on the self service buffet with four or five cooked options to order. We enjoyed a homemade afternoon tea that was delicious. The ambience of the hotel ensures you feel very relaxed and safe whilst there. A historical tradional hotel with clean modern facilities.
Nothing not to like here ..... However we did think the restaurant decor was very dark and could be lighter and brighter as not much natural/artificial lighting, but that is more about personal preference and taste!
