Well located, clean and tidy, well equipped with a small kitchenette (tea, coffee, sugar, and milk provided) and even a little living room which was a bonus. The private bathroom had excellent shower pressure and temperature. Soap and towels were provided. It was quiet all three nights we were in there, easy to sleep. I was provided with clear instructions for after hours self check-in which allowed us to arrive late after a flight without any stress, and a handy key drop facility meant we could also quickly check out when leaving early. Although I never met the staff, thank you for providing a lovely stay :)

Nothing. If you're looking for an inexpensive room with a similar walking radius to all attractions, the only other option in this price range is a hostel. In my opinion this is a significant upgrade, although if you are expecting resort style/hotel level luxury it won't be for you. Note the signs on the building still say 'Lake Central Cairns' which could cause confusion.

This is an awesome, classic motel. The room had a separate living room with a small kitchenette. We were within walking distance the Cairns Esplanade and the pier that is the launching point for tours to the Great Barrier Reef. The pool was clean and the property was relaxing. There is a great breakfast place a few doors down.

We loved this place. It is not new or fancy, but it was clean and relaxing. We really had no complaints.

Large bedroom, large bathroom. Very clean apartment - Tiled floors (no mucky carpets!). Beds and mattress incredibly comfortable. Outdoor areas and pool area very clean and tidy. Laundry on site. Quiet. Close to the CBD, Esplanade, Lagoon, Shopping Centre and Restaurants and Cairns Central Bus Station (Bus Service is fantastic!). Maria and her staff are brilliant - friendly and helpful.

The room was huge and the beds were very comfy. The location was central so we were able to walk everywhere. It was extremely hot during our stay but the old air conditioners and fans did the trick. Maria in reception was lovely and let us leave our bags while we waited for the room to be ready.

The rooms are a bit dated with a few things falling apart, but it's all aesthetic.

Aircon in lounge had to use pedestal fan to blow cool air from lounge to bedroom. Blanket over curtain to stop street light lighting room and have a good sleep. The bed was very comfortable. Still recommended as staff and location were great.

The room was bigger than expected and could easily accommodate a small family. Nice and tidy, the bed was so comfortable. The receptionist was so friendly and even directed me to my room. I would absolutely stay here again.

The hot water in the shower took a while to kick in and the fan kept squeaking but I have kids so I'm used to cold showers and noise.

Location, and facility was very clean. Housekeeping staff was very nice. Front desk person (Maria) was sorry super nice and extremely helpful. She was so kind.

We wish there was ceiling fan in the bedroom. It tended to get a little warm.

Location amazing, easy to walk to the esplanade. Good security with a secure gate and pass code (great when you're travelling alone!). Simple, clean rooms. Great value.

The owner was happy to secure our motor cycles off the street

The owner Maria and the staff have been amazing, so helpful and friendly. Definitely a great stay. We enjoyed the pool in the morning sun.

The fan in the bathroom was very loud.
