Grand Hotel Azores was an excellent hotel. The service was outstanding from start to finish. We had a waterfront room with a balcony and enjoyed sitting and watching the comings and goings in the town. The breakfast was fantastic, again with a waterfront view. When we were looking for hotels, we were a bit apprehensive that this hotel might be a bit stuffy, but it was perfect! First class experience with a casual attitude! The proximity to town was perfect~ very convenient! We didn't use the pool or water access across the street, but it looked fantastic. We stayed at a very nearby property at the tail end of our trip, and preferred this hotel by far. The only advantage the other hotel had was a rooftop bar and pool. We didn't use the pool, but there were lots of families whose children enjoyed it.

The room was very clean and staff was friendly. Parking has in and out privileges all day.

Our stay at the Grand Hotel Acores Atlantico was above and beyond our expectations! Grand Atlantico is a luxury hotel with top notch services. The staff was welcoming, friendly, polite and extremely helpful throughout our stay simply AMAZING. From the moment we arrived we felt special! They arranged all of our excursions in San Miguel, car rental, arranged our taxi to airport, and answered all our questions with helpful suggestions about Island. The Ocean View Suite overlooking the harbor was breath taking. The buffet breakfast was delicious which offered a variety of delights. The Hotel ambiance was perfect. Sometimes after a long day of excursions we would go back to the hotel lobby to relax and listen to the musical guest with a drink. The location is perfect. Walking distance to all the quaint shops and restaurants. We highly recommend the Grand Atlantico. We were impressed with their enthusiasm, professionalism, and customer service. We are already planning a trip to go back!

It was such a pleasant experience. The welcoming was very warm, the room was specious and so tastefully decorated with an amazing view. Meals at restaurant were quite unique, local and delicious, and desserts were such a delight to look at and enjoy. A very big thank for a lovely birthday surprise. Everything was exceptional - next to the beauty of the whole island it was that thing that makes everything dreamlike. The staff deserves a big praise!

Very nice place, the hotel is well maintained, the staff is very helpful, room service and restaurant are good. The location is perfect, there are several quality options to have lunch or dinner and enjoy the local fresh sea-food dishes. In general, nice climate and charming Island. We enjoyed our New Year stay of one week.

A hairdryer, you should always keep the button pressed manually as it doesn't work automatically. It's quite annoying if one has a long hair.

The hotel was within walking distance of most places in the center of town. Great location! Service was excellent at breakfast and late night in the bar. Rooms were comfortable and cool with all of the necessary amenities with comfortable bedding. It was on a side street and quiet in the night. Staff also contacted me after departure with an item left behind.

We would have enjoyed some outside cocktail seating with heat lamps for April weather.

Staff were very highly trained, polite, friendly in an adequate manner - just perfect. The room was comfortable. The hotel is very class and you feel home at the same time.

The gym: none of the machines were working and the wood floor is too old. That was a real shame for those who needs to exercise. Not even the bike was functioning and there was no strap to put your foot. Also, the water dispenser was empty.

We had a wonderful stay at Grand Hotel Açores Atlântico, a truly 5-star hotel in Ponta Delgada. The breakfast was superb, with a variety of options and fresh ingredients. The staff was resourceful and very warm and helpful, except for one lady at the reception who was a bit rude. The location is second to none, facing the marina and close to the historic center and two great bathing areas. The only downside was that some of the guests did not behave as 5-star guests, being obnoxious and not being considerate, courteous. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting São Miguel island.

Exceptional service, love the valet for parking and the little bottles of water in the car when they bring back the car... apples available in the afternoon, very good quality sheets ....little things that make a big difference. The staff is amazing, great job!

Breakfast becomes boring after a few days, they should change a little bit... maybe an omelet station or something....
