Conveniently located, just 8 minutes away from Nelson's small airport, the Boutique motel is in a quiet location with free parking. Next door is a brilliant laundrette and across the road is a good supermarket. Our upstairs room was a bit small but well equipped with a small kitchen area and microwave, kettle, flat screen TV, reasonable free Wi-Fi, a wardrobe, hair drier, good bathroom with shower, comfortable double bed, flat screen TV, air conditioning and basic cutlery and crockery. The place was clean, well-cared for and perfectly adequate - bit it was a bit tight to be honest. When we arrived at 9pm reception was closed, and we had to call the owner (who lives on site) to let us in. He had texted us with access details, he told us, but I had changed to a local SIM card on my phone so did not receive his message. Sending an e-mail - or communicating through Booking.com would have been better.

What a wonderful motel! Very clean & tidy & comfortable beds. Convenient 5 minutes drive from the airport, with good cafes for breakfast across the street. My elderly mother and I arrived at 10pm after a long and stressful 2 flight international day. Derek, the owner, has a very calming presence and is just a delightful person who is so good at his job. I would ot hesitate to recommend the Boutique Motel to anyone and would 100% choose this motel to stay again.

Absolutely can not fault this place. It was as I expected from photos and write up. Derek the owner was the icing on the cake. Thanks for making us so welcome to NZ.

The motel has everything you need in a room, and I found the bed super comfy. The managers (at reception) are lovely - without asking, I was leant a spare iPhone charger when I somehow managed to lose mine (resulting in my phone completely dying) which I thought was really kind. The motel is technically in Stoke rather than Nelson, so about a 10 min drive from town (but I didn’t mind as it was a bit closer to Abel Tasman and surrounds which is where I was hanging out more anyway). There is a laundromat a couple of doors down which was so handy! In my search for a new phone charger I came across the Pic’s Peanut Butter factory just down the road from the motel - join a tour, you won’t regret it!

The Boutique Motel is under new management, and the managers,Carol & Don were great.The rooms were comfortable and clean,and the beds were amazing, very good mattresses and pillows,and extras if needed. A Thai restaurant, Indian curry shop,( The Lamb Chops are to die for!!),Fish & Chips are a must as well,so there is plenty of choice to keep you interested. We will definitely stay with them again,and we found the people of Stoke very friendly as well.We felt very safe walking around the streets,with people willing to help out with info,directions ect. Excellent communication, Derek was amazing to deal with. We felt very welcome and the two rooms we booked suited our needs perfectly. All commented on the extremely comfortable beds. Great to have all Sky tv options when a sporting fixture needed to be followed. Walking distance to everything we needed to attend, next to a much needed laundromat, a range of takeaways, a gorgeous park to picnic in, and two supermarkets. Highly recommend this motel.

Everything in the room was what I needed for my stay, a comfortable bed, the spa bath (just don't use to much liquid soap), air conditioner and sky tv, , a fridge, table to sit at etc Well equipped. Off street parking. Easy booking. Derek and Mark are awesome hosts. Would stay in a heart beat AAA+ ps, thanks Derek for the supportive chats and 🤗

Nothing at all

The location is very central in Stoke, Nelson, and parking was never a problem. All staff were very friendly, and management went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and looked after. The room was comfortably appointed, and it was warm and well presented. We could not have asked for a better place to stay..

Nothing not to like.

Excellent value for money. Expected a generic motel room but the space felt like it had been prepared with genuine care and love. Appreciated the host’s proactive communication as we didn’t know exactly when we would arrive after a hike. Little out of town but to be expected for the very affordable price. Would recommend as a comfortable base for exploring Nelson & surrounds.

Convenient location close to several food outlets. Located off the main road so relatively quiet but still very easy to get to. Extremely clean rooms and the hosts were very helpful with respect to my late check-in arrangements. Easy to use microwave and a decent amount of milk is provided for tea/coffee making.

Great for just one person overnight but maybe a little cramped for two people, e.g. breakfast bar seating in my room was for one person only.

The location was perfect for us attending a wedding and other activities near by in Richmond, Monaco and Marsden areas. Comfortable room with good furniture to optimise the space. Kitchenette was compact but functional, great for easy breakfast and lunch. Furnishings comfortable and relaxing colours. Easy to find and parking was good.
