Recent renovated, nicely fitted and decorated hotel and room. Rooms are - typical vd Valk - far above market standard spacious. Sufficient and free car and bicycle parking spaces. Good food and very pleasant and attentive service in the restaurant. The rooms were very quiet except the shaking wall - see below. Big monitors were placed in the large restaurant to allow customers to watch European Championship football matches. Very good breakfast and large choice of very tasty and fresh products.

I found the staff at the check in desk ok but very formal. I did not get the impression that there was something good and exciting to be expected, unlike their happy and friendly colleagues in the restaurant. One of the walls was quite heavily shaking/ vibrating every time the neighbours closed their door. This was rather annoying and surprised to experience in a freshly renovated hotel. I have a room on the 2nd floor with only one very narrow window.

The room was comfortable, clean and spacious. Free parking is available and the gym facilities is good.

There was this attitude of a staff that a bit unfriendly during the reception. I was staying with my husband and my 3yo son. I booked a room for 2 adults since the options available in the booking app is for 2 adults or 3 adults. No option for 2+1 child, even though I registered my child during the hotel search in app. And I did not request for extra bed or cot since my toddler would aleep with us on the big bed. This staff asked me why I didn't mention the child with the tone as if I was smuggling my child to avoid some extra cost 😑 (I know that the hotel policy is that children under 12yo will not charged as adult), even though she later explained for safety reason. I do not mind with questions, but asking friendly is a basic customer service. And quality is customer perception.

The hotel is a lovely establishment with lovely clean rooms. We were on the ground floor which had a private terrace onto the front on the hotel entrance. The little coffee shop sell the most delicious bakeries and other essentials which is a lovely asset to the hotel. We didn’t opt for breakfast so this was really helpful during our stay. There’s free parking available around the hotel, you just need to validate your parking ticket at the hotel reception. A big shout out to front desk officer Iris who was really helpful and warm. The cleaning staff did a good job with plenty of clean towels replenished but the toilet brush was left in the toilet (I’m sure in haste). The hotel is not far from scheveningen beach - a short 10 mins drive. It’s really a lovely sandy beach with plenty of restaurants, souvenir shops and a mall. You can opt for a cheap kibbling meal or a sit down meal at the restaurants.

Just a small observation that whilst I was requesting for housekeeping to come to my room to clean whilst we were out, a member of the front desk had asked me to return to my room to put the wooden sign on the door when this could be easily done by her simply asking the housekeeping to clean the room from front desk. It’s just customer hospitality… to make your customers feel happy and at ease. Upon my request she noted it on the computer but she seemed a bit annoyed having done so.

Nice hotel located a short car journey from The Hague and 40 km from Amsterdam. We stayed there to visit the Keukenhof tulip gardens. Our room was lovely and big and the bed was comfortable and my husband was impressed with the built in wireless chargers on the bedside tables. Even though we didn’t eat there, the restaurant looked nice and we had drinks there one night. There was a small area in the reception area where you could buy snacks and drinks, and there was also a coffee shop that had delicious pastries and breads/croissants.

If I were to be picky then the shower needs to be higher up for those who don‘t like the showers on the ceiling. Also, for those like me who are vertically challenged ( short ), then also it would be nice to have a mirror in the bathroom that extends out.

Room was spacious and comfortable, staff were friendly and very helpful, restaurant was good and the breakfast was delicious. I didn't get a chance to use the gym facilities but they looked great from what i could see

I was staying solo, but if travelling with a partner I wouldn't have liked the fact that the double bed was two single beds pushed together. It would have been good if there was more of a room service menu (sandwiches etc) rather than just being able to order from the restaurant menu

Breakfast excellent as usual, staff friendly and helpfull. Compliments to housekeeping staff, rooms and corridors were spotless as was restaurant and foyer etc.

This was the fourth or fifth time we stayed at Van der Valk hotel Den Haag Wassenaar, so fi us it felt very much like coming home, familiar etc However the way your bookings are this does not flag up, a simple "Welcome back" would have made a big difference.

Nicely renovated space, beautiful rooms, great location, helpful staff. Oh- phone charger built into the night stand- Genius!!! All hotels should have this!

The parking situation could definitely be better, long walk from the car to the room due to not many entrances to the hotel. We had a few miscommunications with staff that could easily be cleared up with more training. Hotel should have bell staff or more luggage carts.

We appreciated a lot of things: from outstanding facilities and exterior design; to spacious parking with fast charging stations; to very welcoming staff; and surprisingly tasty breakfasts.

The only drawbacks: an air vent (above the shower) felt off all of a sudden; the layout of Junior Suite was a bit unconventional to me (bathtub in the middle of a room, without any separating wall).

The hotel is being rebuilt, and they warn that at the moment it is a bit of a construction site, but that was no problem at all for us. We had a large room on the ground floor which was nice as there are no elevators just now (I'm sure they will be back soon, but check if you are booking in 2023 and you need one). Breakfasts were good, and the hotel dining room was a fine place for dinner. When our plans changed and we stayed an extra three days the hotel staff were very accommodating in finding a room for us. The location is great if you are driving to mutliple places in Holland as we were, but it is not walking distance to anything. That said, the village of Wassenaar is a nearby delight, and you can enjoy walks in the dunes and a lunch or dinner by the seaside in nearby Scheveningen, Wassenaar or Katwijk ann Zee.
