The hotel is wonderful: super friendly and helpful staff everywhere, great location, very comfortable with lovely amenities. Our King room was lovely, but we also decided to upgrade our room to a junior suite, which was reasonable to do, and was a very nice room, with great space and views, super comfy bed, and lovely spacious bathroom. Breakfast at the hotel was busy, but very well catered, and there was a great selection of food available. The spa and pool areas were excellent as before. Also, they are super nice with dogs staying and very accommodating, which is most appreciated. Definitely my go-to luxury hotel in Edinburgh.

The breakfast was beautifully presented with an abundance of a wide variety of food to choose from. It was delicious! I loved having breakfast at the table overlooking the road in the smaller room. The waiting service were professional and kind. I was given a paper bag to take extra yummy bread on a tour to the highlands. The service was casual. friendly and professional. I’d definitely stay here again!!

The layout of room 113 could be improved. The step from the bathroom could do with another step, and the jug to boil water needs to be moved to. a more open spot.

There was a problem with our booking so we ended up getting a complimentary upgrade to a junior suite. It was like a one bedroom flat and was enormous. There was a complimentary free mini bar, tea, coffee machine, ghd hair straiteners and hairdryer, iron and ironing board and complimentary toiletries. The location is right at the top of George street so was handy for all shops, restaurants and bars around the George street, rose street and princes street areas. There was a wee bit of noise from public coming away at night, bit of singing etc but nothing that kept you awake for long. There was also complimentary water and drinks in the public areas.

Breakfast was a wee bit disappointing for a hotel of this status. It was the usual buffet style with plenty of choice and it was all fresh. There was also the usual cereals, fruit, fruit salad, breads, yoghurt etc. I was just surprised that it wasn’t waiter service which you would expect in a hotel like this. The staff were lovely though and got refills for tea and coffee for us and did ask if we needed anything else.

Our stay at Kimpton Charlotte Square was exceptional in every way. The hotel itself is beautiful, with warm interiors and a calm, welcoming atmosphere. But what truly sets it apart is the kindness and attention of the staff. During our visit, my daughter accidentally left behind something incredibly precious to her — and the concierge team went far beyond expectations to help us. They not only found it, but returned it with the most thoughtful gesture, creating a memory we’ll always cherish. This level of care is rare, and I’m deeply grateful. We’ll absolutely return — and recommend this hotel with all our hearts.

Everything was at the top level

The Kimpton Charlotte Square boasts an unbeatable location, which truly made our stay. We found the staff to be friendly and attentive, and our room was perfectly adequate with all the essentials. While the pool was a tad busy when we used it, breakfast was satisfactory. A definite highlight was the incredible food at the BABA restaurant.

For future consideration, soundproofing between rooms and from the corridor could be improved, as we occasionally heard noise. We also wanted to note a minor inaccuracy during breakfast when golden syrup was presented as maple syrup.

I don't think I have ever stayed in a hotel where every single member of staff was so obliging. Nothing was too much trouble. They all seemed to have time for you, whether it was on reception, the breakfast dining room or the bar, they were all exceptional.

It was a shame that the garden room wasn't used enough..it would be nice to have had the cocktails in there. It was one of the reasons I booked that hotel.I did find the layout of the hotel a bit confusing and because the restaurant was open to non residents you really had to book for the evening meal There was also no instructions for the Nespresso coffee machine which I wasn't used to using.

Enjoyed the gym facilities and the bar, all the staff were extremely friendly. The room was warm and comfortable, a little surprised that there were minimal complimentary items, coffee, biscuits etc, it would have been nice to have more than 2 biscuits and 2 coffees.. No items in the minibar, again disappointing.

I'm afraid our experience with an evening meal was over rated and not enjoyable, the waiting staff changed my meal as it was burnt, but I felt it was done with disdain. We decided to eat out of the hotel after the first night.

Stuff was exceptional ! I got my room earlier , was shown around the hotel , restaurant was booked at last minute requests , all I have asked for was provided in timely manner ! Location is excellent! Room , even cozy , was very comfortable and had all that is necessary for the stay . Refrigerator was full of free water, sodas, beer and milk , complimentary ! My room was facing the street and it was quiet ! Windows are double glass and provide noise cancelation and comfort !

Everything about this place is exceptional, the location, the fact that everything is under the same roof, i.e. the pool, rooms, bar, restaurant... it's other worldly, everything is quality, the staff, the food, love the happy hour!, we love this place, love it...

The only tiny thing we didn't like was as we left the hotel, at the bottom of the steps as you enter the hotel, one of the guests was just finishing off a cigarette, which they just flicked onto the floor in front of us, this isn't the fault of the hotel, however, it's an offence and attracts an on the spot fine, it's not the image the hotel needs or Edinburgh in fact.

We loved the hotel and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and the concierge went above and beyond to help us . We would definitely return

We decided not to have breakfast in the hotel as it was very expensive. When we saw our room we were a little disappointed that we had no view and that it looked onto a brick wall but we realised that actually it was very quiet whereas if we had looked out onto the front it might’ve been very noisy as it was graduation week so we were grateful for the peace and quiet .
