The view from the room of the beach is beautiful. We arrived late, so waking up and seeing the beach in the morning was a lovely experience.

I was excited to see they had a gym, but it could have been better. The treadmill sounded like it was about to break so I had to apologize to other hotel guests for the horrible sound. The aircon was not working too well in the gym. Also, I would highly recommend that they have gym towels available to guests. The gym was so hotel and couldn't find any towels. Last, the hotel could provide a disinfectant spray and disposable towels for guests to wipe down the equipment after each use.

Had some rough-around-the-edges problems with the room, which were sorted promptly. Otherwise, everything here was way, way above-average for Sri Lanka, and this location is highly recommended for a 2-night bookstop for your trip. Some staff seemed exhausted and checked-out, while others were smart and smiles and people you don’t forget.

I’ve noticed telling people to ‘sit down’ is considered hospitable in Sri Lanka, but considering this often serves as an airport transit hotel, it can be considered rude in some cultures to tell people to sit down after they’ve been travelling sitting down for 15 hours to reach your country.

The hotel was beautiful. It has a private beach, spacious and modern rooms, even the theme of the lobby is super cute like a submarine or boat. The view was beautiful. The staff were informative and friendly and helpful. The beach is quite clean and swimmable (just as good as browns beach, you don't have to go over there). The pool makes you feel like your in a lake with the plants beside it.

The bed is a little stiff, but some like that. There are a lot of mosquitoes, they warn you about it, so you can keep your room doors closed, but if you are in the lobby or the restaurant they are everywhere (but the hotel can't control that). The restaurant food was mediocre, not to the standard of 4 star I would say. There are many restaurants just down the road though, near browns beach area.

We stayed at this place the night before we left Sri Lanka as our final stop. Our tour guide recommended we stay here instead of in Colombo, and we were lucky to experience this wonderful place. What a luxurious vibe it gave us right before we left! The rooms were super clean and modern, the pool was superb, and the food was delicious. We even had an airport transfer included. Highly recommend staying here!

The location felt like we were at the edge of the city but it could also have something to do that we went there off season

Fantastic hotel overlooking the beach and amazing views out to sea. Rooms are huge and very lovely. The pool is nice and the sea is right there so two swimming options. Rooftop gym looked good with running machines looking out to sea (didn't have time to use it). Sri Lankan curry was good. Mostly very peaceful. Bed was 7 feet wide and very comfortable.

There's a lot of stray dogs on the beach outside, sometimes they howled for a couple of hours disturbing what was otherwise a really peaceful spot. The beach wasn't the cleanest, with some plastic rubbish on the tide line.

The room we had was amazing. It was our last night in Sri Lanka but probably the best night we had. Amazing sunset..private pool, great food. We felt like a king and queen. Staff were amazing and so friendly. The lounge areas where also great for just relaxing. There is also plenty to explore in the surrounds within walking distance.

It is a bit pricey but if you looking to spoil yourself i think it is worth the extra cost

Architecturally stunning, very well maintained hotel with amazingly spacious and high-quality rooms that generally live up to international standards. Ocean views are stunning. Pictures can be trusted. Room service went out of their way to accommodate specific requests.

Extended late check-out due to late evening flight was not possible other than extending by a whole night with no room for compromise. Call to the reception asking for toiletries that were forgotten to be placed in the room wasn’t followed up on. Card machine wasn’t working at some point, although later it did. Kids are having noisy all night parties at the beach right in front of the hotel.

Overall, my stay at Pledge Scape Hotel exceeded all expectations, thanks in no small part to the exceptional service provided by Dushi and Shafraz. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable stay in Srilanka.

After 5 months stay at different places in SL I mostly enjoyed a proper water pressure in bathroom/shower, real cleanness, well trained staff but not stiff. Really felt welcome not just being a ATM ;) Only having breakfast twice and inroom dining as well, I was more than satisfied about taste, quality and presentation. Maybe for longer stays variety could become little limited. From front desk, restaurant/pool, security employees all of them are very empathic also to 4legged nonpaying visitors seeking shelter or some food.

Gorgeous roof top - should be opened earlier to watch sunset, also could be a nice place for having an afternoon tea. Flooring needs some recondition; even I know it's very hard to maintain that close to sea/beach.
