The room was nice and clean. Staff was friendly. My only complaint was that breakfast should last a little longer. We got down there for breakfast at 8:45 and they were already putting stuff away.I asked her about the hot oatmeal and she said she had already thrown it out. I was a little up set about that. Oh well. Just % if it is to close at 9 then start taking stuff down at 9 and not 8,:45.

Tr food was good and good chooses.

We stayed in one of the cottages at the Residence Inn, which are really nice suites in an annex thus more private, i.e. they have their own private entryway rather than having to go through the hotel to enter your room. Very clean. Nice kitchen.

The location is a tad farther away from the main part of of the Historic District than I would prefer, but it's still technically in the historic district and is fine during the day, other than fast traffic on the street in front. The only slight negative is that after dark the gas station in front of the hotel attracts some loud, somewhat off-putting, assertive loiterers, which can be a bit unsettling to pass by when you're walking back to your room after a show or dinner and they start calling out to you or yelling. During the day it's not scary at all.

The breakfast was good. It had dairy-free options for me. The room was large and comfortable. We just had to keep the air conditioning down really low so it would circulate enough for the entire room. It was a great location for us, and we were able to walk to historic Savannah and to the start of our tour bus. Everything we needed was within a ten minute walk. The staff was always courteous and really great about answering questions. The pool was great after a long day of touring around.

We didn't notice that there were bugs in one of the cabinets until near the end of our stay, so we did not use the dishes. The room was warm the first day until we turned the temperature down to the lowest setting.

I stayed in a charming cottage with a very good space like a studio. We loved this place and I front of our cottage had a fountain. Beautiful and cosy.

The hotel didn’t say for us that it has a street rear the hotel and you parking the car for free. They offer to parking in a space that cost 30 us per day. It’s a shame.

The Downtown Historic district is so beautiful and full of culture and the hotel amplified that feeling. I like how close the hotel is the cities entrance as well. The actual property itself was also great. The design of the pool, courtyard and lounge areas were amazing, and the staff were very helpful and accommodating.

The absolutely smallest complaint that I could have with this location is that the pool looked like it hadn’t been skimmed for leaves and bugs in at least a day or so; a manageable amount to where I didn’t find it gross or unsanitary, but just something I noticed.

The closeness to the Railroad Museum. Also, we love how walkable everything was around us. The courtyard with the picnic / seating areas were extremely nice in the event I needed to work outside my room.

The cottage lobbies and stairways seemed a bit dirty from outside debris, but nothing too bad.

I didn't really eat breakfast but it looked like one of the best hotel breakfast buffets I have seen. The room was comfortable and I appreciated the little kitchenette which I didn't know was part of it. That was great.

The heating and air in hotels is always bad. Always feels clammy or damp unless you have the temp down so low it never shuts off. Dehumidification would be great.

Room set up

Staff was not very pleasant, not enough food for the guests at breakfast, lack of transparency for charges and perks, charges for pets are not clear and nothing provided for pets such as bowls or bed after charging more than for humans. Unfair charges for pets when there was nothing to be done or provided.

We traveled to Savannah to celebrate my mom's 83rd birthday. We arrived several hours before check-in of 3pm. Unfortunately, an early check-in couldn't be promised as the property was completely booked the night before. We were so very surprised and so thankful to find that Denise Chisolm, the GM, had our room cleaned so that my mom didn't have to wait in the lobby for hours! She went above and beyond to accommodate our situation. Truly added a special touch to the birthday weekend!! Jihon, from Housekeeping got our room ready and was so lovely during our entire stay. We have to praise the entire staff, from management, front desk, housekeeping, breakfast service and valet for showing us true Southern hospitality and grace! We will look forward to visiting Savannah again and will definitely stay at the Residence Inn Downtown Historic District again!!

The staff was awesome and the location was great! It is about a mile from River Street and even less to most things in downtown. The facilities and pool were very clean and we enjoyed our stay alot!

The only thing we didn’t like is that there was a spot of carpet in our room just outside the bathroom that was damp for some reason, and the room smelled funny the first day we checked in. We were hardly there and only planned to stay two nights so this was not something that we reported or gave them an opportunity to correct.
