Just returned from a wonderful stay at Zagame's House and I can't recommend this boutique hotel highly enough. From the moment we arrived, every detail exceeded our expectations. The beds are nothing short of dreamy - I slept better here than I have in ages. The linens are luxurious, the mattresses perfectly supportive, and the rooms maintain just the right temperature for optimal comfort. Despite being right in the heart of Melbourne's CBD, the hotel maintains a wonderfully quiet atmosphere. You get all the convenience of the central location without any of the urban noise disrupting your rest. The breakfast here is absolutely outstanding - fresh, beautifully presented, and with enough variety to satisfy any palate. The coffee is exceptional - clearly they take their Melbourne coffee culture seriously! It's the kind of breakfast that makes you actually look forward to getting up in the morning. Sooo delish! Their wine bar is an absolute delight and quickly became our favorite spot to unwind after exploring Melbourne. The selection is impressive with a great assortment available by the glass, the atmosphere intimate, and it's the perfect place to plan your next day's adventures or simply relax. The staff truly make this place special. Every team member we encountered was lovely, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about making our stay memorable. Their local recommendations were spot-on and their service was seamless throughout. The location couldn't be better for food lovers and city explorers. Lygon Street's incredible restaurant scene is right at your doorstep, perfect for leisurely strolls and discovering Melbourne's famous culinary culture. Everything you want to see and experience is easily walkable. Parking is convenient and reasonably priced at $35 per night onsite. We have stayed twice and will definitely stay again.

We arrived early, and the staff were incredibly accommodating, taking care of everything quickly and with such kindness. The lobby/ restaurant is quirky and very stylish. After checking in we headed straight to breakfast and were blown away by how beautifully the food was presented—and it tasted even better! I had the zucchini, wild mushroom, and truffle on sourdough, while my daughters enjoyed the Breakfast Ramen and the waffles with honey ice cream. Every dish was exceptional in looks and taste. Our room was stunning. Beautifully designed with clever use of space, making it both comfortable and unique. The outdoor building’s decorations were a lovely touch as well. We visited in winter, and it was so easy to get around on foot with restaurants and shops just a short walk away. I’ve already recommended Zagame to friends and family, what an absolute gem! Well done to the entire team.

We lived absolutely everything right from the friendly greeting on arrival when we were seriously jet lagged and losing the plot... The rooms are spotlessly clean, the double beds are massive and the wet room well equipped including with fab toiletries. The breakfast menu is outstanding - amazing presentation and fabulous choice. The Lord Lygon bar and restaurant is next door and is defo a place highly recommended by us as a place to eat. The wine menu is vast and top notch plus the food delicious and competitively priced.

There is nothing not to like about this place.

Great breakfast. Staff also very flexible for special requests. Reception team were friendly, but I didn't think as warmly welcoming as they could have been. I thought the gym was great. I hoped to use a rower, which wasn't there, but everything else is! I liked both the gym decor/plants/natural light and sound system. All appreciated. The interior decor of the reception/ restaurant and rooms is great. Very clean. Showers good. Toiletries lovely.

The pricing is good. I understand that we had a cheaper room- so, despite the double glazing, the hoons on Lygon street later in the evening with their noisy cars were, well, noisy. My wife pointed out that there was only one comfy chair in the room- so if there are two of you, one must sit either on the bed or the firmer desk chair. There are larger rooms available which no doubt have more space and more chairs- it just wasn't obvious from booking. No pool- we were more mindful of this as it was hot in Melbourne when we stayed.

I ended up spending two nights at Zagame's (one due to a cancelled flight). The beds were super comfy and the rooms were furnished really nicely. The staff were really friendly. The location was perfect and within walking distance too everything on Lygon Street and surrounds. I didn't get a chance to use the gym but it looked really good!

- My second night was booked very last minute due to a cancelled flight and I called to request to stay again after checking out earlier that day. The staff member I spoke to on the phone offered me quite a high rate so I ended up booking through a third-party as it was cheaper, and when I checked in another staff member told me they could've matched the third-party rate so maybe just a suggestion to offer return guests who are booking directly a more competitive rate. - there is a reasonable amount of street noise in the rooms I stayed in - it would be great if you could hire their Zagame car for an hourly rate rather than the whole day

The staff were outstanding. The young people on the breakfast shifts were always cheerful, polite and helpful. Breakfast itself was great, with a good selection from the menu. The coffee was excellent. The room was comfortable and quiet. The shower was excellent with good range of toiletries. We had a hired car so used the parking facilities. This was really convenient and safe. The hotel is located very close to what must be the United Nations of restaurants and cafes. It is right on public transport routes if you don't want to use a car.

I can't really think of anything I felt I needed. Sorry, nothing to complain about, but will simply say again, the staff were great!

We stayed in a House Pad room which was a good size. Had a wardrobe and good sized shower / bathroom. The hotel had a very “cool relaxed” atmosphere with the staff being nice and calm too . It helped make the hotel be a great place to stay. Hotel is in a good location with plenty of food options & bars nearby. we had breakfast included but this isn’t the usual hotel breakfast. You get juice and fresh coffee made for you. Then there is a menu selection with a great choice of options, freshly prepared for you. All were very good. One thing to point out, the breakfast area is compact, which is fine as I don’t think many people have breakfast included. However, if you come down at a busy time, I guess you might have to wait. That never happened to us but it’s a possibility. There is a bar / restaurant area to the side and the food here was really good. We really enjoyed the hotel and would definitely stay here again

This is a wonderful hotel in a brilliant location with the cbd on one side and a zillion restaurants on the other. You can walk to the Vic Market, Fitzroy, and lots of other places from here. The parking was easy and check in was uncomplicated. The room was groovy and the bed was very comfortable. We ate breakfast in the restaurant downstairs and even put in an appearance at the Lord Lygon wine bar. We found the stay very pleasant and would stay here again for sure.

Maybe I'm getting old, but I found the toilet situation in our room a bit, I don't know, confronting. There were opaque glass walls, but I felt that we were getting to know each other a little too well - and this is after a decade together! The rooms are great and the design is compelling but I like a bit more privacy, I guess. Not a criticism as such but my only reservation about an otherwise great hotel.

This quirky residence was in the perfect location. Walking distance to restaurants, trams, Museum, Victoria markets. If you didn't want to walk the trams were only a short walk.

The staff were so kind and helpful. Happy to accommodate your every need. Fresh fruit at reception The rooms were lovely, very clean and the bed was so comfortable. The only thing needed was a few more hangers in the rooms (PS I'm sure had I asked they would have bought more). The rooms were smallish but all you needed. Shower area was a nice size.
