It’s my favourite property in Athens, so much history and I feel every time I stay that I am at my second home

The food is atrocious, I’m not sure why there is no typical Greek fair on offer, it’s all trying too hard to be glamorous and it fails!

It is a grand dame of Athens hotels and lives up to it. I can't remember ever seeing such a stunning Christmas tree in any hotel worldwide. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The top floor restaurant is really good too and you dine with an Acropolis view.

Be careful with interpreting the pictures on booking.com which may not represent what you actually get. We got an upgrade due to the discrepancy.

First of all, photos do not do enough justice to the place. It looks great in pictures, however you get a truly "wow" feeling once you get there. Especially Alexander's Winter Palace. The best part of our stay was the anticipation to get back after a day's journey. The food was tasty, vegetables and fruits looked fresh, professional staff, clean place and fast internet speed. Why wouldn't we? :) One more thing that stood out was attention to details. For example, if you're an early morning coffee enthusiast, mini-bar is equipped with everything you need.

The gym size turned out to be small. Granted, there was an unusually large number of sport enthusiasts, it would be still great to have a couple of additional areas for weightlifting and stretching.

My stay at the hotel was outstanding. The staff are very helpful, attentive and kind. The butler staff were superior in all they have done ( Olga, Mohamed & Panos). I really recommend this hotel for anyone looking for quality, convenience and top notch services.

Location great… right next to the main pedestrian street Ermou and Syntagma Square (where the Parliament is). 24 min walk from Acropolis/Parthenon. 10 min walk to Plaka neighborhood. King George Tudor Hall restaurant for Dinner is Michelin star and amazing! I recommend not taking included breakfast for the entire stay especially since you can always decide to add it when you’re there (no need for reservations…this leaves you with the option to eat outside since there’s so much close by. BUT…I definitely recommend to try the hotel breakfast at least once…and after eating once you might decide to do it again like I did 😊!) All staff absolutely amazing!! Friendly and always there to help, and they go above and beyond

Can’t connect to your Netflix account directly from TV (only chrome cast available). But you can connect a computer via HDMI For swimmers only… indoor pool doesn’t have swim indicators on the floor so when swimming freestyle it’s hard to find where to do a flip turn (not impossible though), but swimming backstroke is way harder since there aren’t indicators (for example flags). Also pool area a bit dark so harder to see underwater. FYI, pool is with salt water (just a bit salty)

Our room was clean and well provided for with products and a desk was available to complete some work. Our bed was comfortable and our room quiet. This large older style hotel has many corridors and our room overlooked an outdoor space. The food quality and price was excellent with a great respresentation of some of the best wines from multiple regions in Greece. We enjoyed tasting these wines with good food.

The many twists & turns to arrive at the room. Our room had not recently been renovated and did not have a free standing shower, smaller than expected for the cost of the accommodation.

One of my favorite hotels ever. The staff were super accommodating and friendly. The food was incredible. The cigar bar was one of the nicest I have ever been to. I wish I stayed longer in Athens just to spend more time at this hotel. They helped us plan our trip to and from various airports and gave excellent advice on where we should and should not go. We will be coming back to Athens and only staying here from now on.

Staying at Hotel Grande Bretagne was the peak experience of our three weeks in Greece. The excellent location, the magnificent views from our room, the wonderful meal, the caring service - everything was perfect. I'd especially like to thank the manager who got us the delightful room with a view. Thanks for your help and sympathy!

Could not book a massage for my 17 year old daughter, even though everywhere else in the world in 5 star hotels ( 4 seasons, Mandarin Oriental, Kempinsky, Oberoy) it has Never Ever been a problem. At least there should be an option with a parent in the room. Made me feel very stressed not to have this option for my daughter.

The Grande Bretagne is truly a beautiful hotel and we can't wait to stay again. The surroundings are so elegant and the staff were lovely . We loved the pool and leisure area as did our daughter . Phenomenal location . Highly recommended!!

We loved everything . Not that it was a problem but do let guests know about the 25 euro fee for thr car parking . Its great value but I think its best to let guests know in advance. Nothing negative to say !! One of our favourite hotels!!
