The staff were really friendly, helpful. The room was pretty comfortable, able to fit 6 pax with the bed arrangements. We even managed to ask for an additional mattress free of charge because a friend of mine was on the bigger side. The room had a separate toilet and bath which made it more convenient for all of us to get ready. Hot water was nice and plenty of drinking water in the room. They had a super cute golden retriever, very friendly and playful.

The road going in is very narrow, no sign boards for drivers to locate it. Would recommend improving those aspects.

Very nice small hotel surrounded by trees. We had everything we needed for our stay. The breakfast was delicious and rich. The property is very close to the train station and to all the restaurants and shops. The owner Wasantha is a great person and gave us a lot of tips around Ella. He recommended us as a cooking class at Honey Bee which was also perfect. At the end of our stay Wasantha drove us to Arugam Bay and 6 days later from Arugam bay to Udawalawe. He is not only a great host, but also an excellent driver

The property is beautiful with lovely flowers and shrubs all around. It’s also super peaceful but an easy walk to town which is hopping. We had small children so location was super important to us! We loved going to watch the train at night. The host was so accommodating - arranged a Tuk Tuk tour for us, dropped us in town more than once, dropped us at the train station, gave great recommendations, and served a great breakfast. We really enjoyed visiting with other guests at breakfast. There are several steps to the room but we didn’t have issues even with two little kids.

The bathroom had an unusual smell and other guests said the same thing - I think it’s due to the humidity. We had some wet clothes that hadn’t dried at all after two days, so that’s just life in Ella I think.

Very peaceful and relaxing place a short walk from the bustle of the main street. I was so glad I booked here and not on the main street, which is noisy and unpleasant. Large, comfortable room and bathroom; spotlessly clean. Mosquito nets provided, comfortable beds, fridge and kettle in room. Kind host who made us feel very welcome.

The shower did not have hot water but this was not a problem for us as the temperature was warm. Be aware there are steps leading from the road to the guesthouse which may not be suitable for people with mobility problems.

Set amid beautiful gardens and well away from the noise of the Main Street in the village. Easy walk to train station and a slightly longer walk to nine arch bridge along the railway track which was great fun ( plenty of stall along the way selling drinks etc) . Owners very helpful, spoke excellent English and gave us helpful information. Nice little veranda with recliners and a hammock outside the room.

Slightly damp smell in the rooms and towels etc a little musty, but to be expected given the humidity and rainfall at the time if our visit.

We were only in Ella for one night, but this was the perfect place to stop over before our 10-hour train to Colombo. We were greeted with tea and spent the afternoon relaxing in the hammocks outside, surrounded by lush green landscape – it was gorgeous. Villa Eden Paradise is a family-run place in a prime location for exploring Ella, and we couldn’t have asked for a more peaceful stay.

Rooms potentially need a bit of updating in terms of decor but it was charming nonetheless, especially for the price!

This family run guest house felt like home with the warmth from the hosts. The location is perfect, 5 mins walk from station and town. We did this easily with our toddler despite the rain. Well priced. We didn’t have breakfast here but it looked great and most others did. The host also kindly dropped us into town during the rain.

A fridge in the room as we are travelling with a toddler this would help. Steps down to the guest house fine for us but maybe not those with decreased mobility

Great location. Walking distance from train station and a bit out of the hustle and bustle of Ella center. Very quiet, you feel like you are in a jungle. Center is easy reachable by foot or a tuk tuk is never far away. Very friendly and helpful staff, they helped us with trips and driver for our next destination. Breakfast was nice too. We travelled with 2 young kids so the family room was perfect for us

Beautiful quiet Homestay located less than 5min walk from Main Street in Ella. The hosts were lovely and breakfast was fantastic. There was parking for our Tuktuk and the host gave us some very good recommendations on things to do in Ella as well as laundry service. The room was clean and comfortable and had a lovely seated area outside as well. Highly, highly recommend!

Great location, quiet tropical paradise only 2 minutes walk from station and Main Street. Family run with excellent service, providing detailed friendly driver for trips out including waterfalls. Outstanding local breakfast.

No problem for us but there are steps leading down. Worth the short walk as you are then insert tree canopy with stunning views.
