This was our favourite stay of our entire trip, with the privacy of the room making it feel more like a hotel than a homestay. The view was absolutely incredible and we could watch the sunrise from bed. We enjoyed admiring the view from the peace and quiet of our balcony and as we ate the amazing, varied breakfast provided by the host each day. We walked to and from town a couple of times but also made use of the TukTuk service which was offered at a very reasonable price. We were given excellent advice on how to walk to Ella rock from the homestay, and also enjoyed walking to nine arch bridge and other attractions. The host helped us arrange an excellent last minute Safari in Yala, providing transport and putting us in touch with an excellent guide. This was a day trip leaving early from Ella in the morning. They have fake reservations this days and fake reviews because someone doing that bad things we talk with hotel. You can provide correct What'sup number with reservation.. they will contact you.

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The view was great, the staff and service was amazing and the breakfast was delicious! The hotel is also in a great starting location for hikes while the town is also not far away (reachable within 15min via the railroad tracks).

This wasn’t an issue for us as we were mostly exploring the area but there is some construction ongoing during the day which can at times be noisy. But the staff was super proactive / friendly about it and even stopped some loud work while we had an afternoon tea. Also the work should be finished in the next months!

Our room was beautifully decorated, cozy, and had a lovely balcony with a breathtaking view of the mountains and a waterfall – truly unforgettable. The Tuk Tuk tours offered by the hotel were great fun, and our driver was super friendly and knowledgeable. The staff were incredibly kind and always helpful, making us feel very welcome. Breakfast was fresh, delicious, and very healthy, which we really appreciated. We also used the laundry service, which was quick and excellent. We highly recommend staying at Ella Hide View if you’re visiting Ella – it was one of our favorite places during our trip!

This hotel was down a little flight of stairs between some buildings so a bit precarious to get to but 100% worth it for the view! Incredibly stunning! The staff were helpful and carried our luggage up and down the stairs when checking in and out. Breakfast was substantial with the restaurant looking out over the mountains. Staff do a good job of keeping the monkeys away while you’re eating. The rooms were clean and spacious enough with aircon or fan options. A good location - we walked 20mins down the hill to the train tracks which you can follow along to Ella Train Station or further along to the Nine Arch Bridge.

The views are incredible and sunrise is a heartfelt joy to behold. The group of men were all incredibly lovely and helpful. Service is top notch, from our stress free pickup by Priyanthe at the train station to organizing with our next driver a pickup location and point. Breakfast was amazing with lots of in seasons ripe fruit. The leftover fruit go to the birds which I find so comforting as the focus is on kindness and sustainability. The massage they arranged at DEERGAYU was the best massage in Sri Lanka and topped the one I had arranged at the post 98Acres Resort. The staff are so flexible and organized they took care of arranging an early morning TukTuk to Amba Estates for a hike over Ella Rock into Ella town. It’s also close to Ella town if you take the steps down to the railroad and walk (at your own risk! So check out when the trains usually run and avoid the heavy times) about 1km to Matey Hut egress down.

The construction next door really is noisy during the day. We tried to ignore it but found it not restful so we decided to go for a massage instead! The lodge is also down some steep stairs and off the main road which can make it a bit difficult to find but the communication with them is so great that they will find you and help you.

The breakfast was outstanding. A huge fruit platter, eggs done to your taste, pancake, yoghurt, toast and jam, Sri Lankan speciality treats, fresh fruit smoothie... The staff went out of their way to help us, making sure we were comfortable and happy with whatever we needed and requested. Pirantha in particular was very helpful and friendly, helping to find us reasonably priced transport for our full, one- day tour. The view, facing Rawana Falls was out of this world.

There was no warning that access to the hotel is challenging for older people - lack of a handrail, made more difficult as we arrived in the dark, in rainy weather, so the path was slippery... Not easy negotiating that with luggage! The water wasn't hot enough, so I couldn't bath. I guess it was because the water heating system works off solar energy and it was particularly rainy and overcast during our 2 days there. I believe they do have electricity back up. I just didn't think to ask for this.

Amazing views from a fantastic private balcony. Really friendly staff. Clean and comfortable room. Useful tuk tuk service available to take us into the town whenever we needed. Nice bottles of water and coke provided to keep us refreshed.

They were in the middle of an expansion so some of the scaffolding obstructed parts of the view but this was minor and I’m sure will not be an issue once the work is finished. Also the builders were working very early in the morning which woke us, but again I’m sure is only temporary.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hive View. The place has amazing views and a very peaceful atmosphere, perfect to relax for a few days. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Piriyantha, who took really good care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. The breakfast was delicious and very generous, and we also loved our room with a private terrace – it was clean, comfortable, and a great spot to enjoy the view. We would definitely recommend Hive View if you’re looking for a quiet and scenic place to stay in the area.

Incredible view of little Adam's peak,Ella rock, little ravana waterfall and the railway line, and the beautiful nature,, we stayed more than Ella and different places,this is the best hotel.the breakfast was amazing. Delicious and generous in beautiful sitting in the morning sunrise like a beach. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful giving more information , if you inform to them every day to clean the room they do well. From the parking area some steps to the hotel but staff they helped and don't worry about it, the property is walking distance to the city but note many steps to the down , but 10 minutes to the city, overall most beautiful spots Sri Lanka you must stay here..

Staff were so lovely, they helped with a lot of things. the view is incredible, best thing about the stay, you will never get tired of that view. The breakfast was big and good, a tip for the staff though is to serve the milk with tea cold, not warm :) we slept well the bed was comfy and we had a great balcony. We used the laundry service and it was good.

The shower was temperament, my partner sadly had 2 cold showers and 1 warm. Luckily they were all warm for me, but it's a bit inconsistent. Our door for our room was a bit poor, I had to barge it open whenever we got in haha, not a problem for me but for smaller people it might be as staff would likely have to do it whenever you go in. The location has stunning view but it's not that walkable into Ella Town, 100% have to get Tuk Tuk back at night, not a problem really but good to know Overall I would stay here again because of the staff, the room and the view
