The location of this property is fantastic if you’re looking to go whale watching and enjoy a few restaurants. It’s an easy stroll to the beach and a bit of fishing and plenty of walking and bike paths. The marina precinct is always alive and there’s plenty to see and do around the area.

Our room was comfortable in terms of beds and furnishings, but there were some maintenance issues that needed attention so that made our stay quite disappointing.There had been some recent renovations but it needed more work - stove had no safety switch functioning, main air conditioner not working, bathroom drain backing up, mouldy ceiling in main bedroom, clothes dryer not working properly, light at bbq not working. I’ve stayed at this resort many times and this particular room just needed some work. I’ll happy return to this resort but I’d request a different room. I should have asked to be moved on this occasion, but it appeared the resort was fully booked so I doubt it would have been possible.

The location is fantastic, with the view of the ocean as requested. Easy walk to the Boat Club and restaurants , two pools to choose from. The grounds were well maintained especially just after a cyclone had gone through a week before we arrived. The staff in reception were friendly and helpful. The positives definitely outweigh any negatives. This is our go to place for Hervey Bay.

The floors could do with a steam clean regularly because walking around bare foot, your soles of your feet would be black in no time at all. Also there was a lot of small ants in the rooms we had to make sure the bench was spotless at all times otherwise it would be covered by small ants in no time flat. For three adults the single bathroom and toilet was awkward.

Amazing view and perfect location for sitting on the balcony or walking to the marina where the whale watching boats are. Our apartment had near panoramic views of the ocean and the marina, with two balconies and lots of windows to appreciate the location. The bathrooms were nice and beds were comfortable. Kitchen had sufficient cutlery and basic utensils for cooking, shampoo/conditioner/body wash supplied, an appropriate amount of dish-washing liquid and dishwasher powder provided.

Very dated apartment, this didn't impact our enjoyment for the weekend but im sure it would for some. The balcony sliding doors were difficult to use/off their runners, the plastic outdoor furniture is stained and there was a lot of bird mess on the balcony floor, peeling ceilings in the bedrooms, no paper towel made keeping things clean a bit more difficult. The stairs up to the apartment would also probably have been quite difficult for older or less mobile people so you may wish to request the ground floor.

The location is perfect and views are great. We stayed in a corner apartment #38. we could view both the marina and bay from our rooms. The swimming pool is good and there are plenty of dining options just a min walk away.

The property need some maintenance: 1. There are ants everywhere including on bed so it’s a bit of nuisance 2. The binds are falling everywhere and that also leads to lack of privacy 3. The bathroom sliding door needs to be fixed and it was dislocated then we arrived. 4. Need more cutlery(spoons n forks). There also not enough dishwashing liquid supplied for the length of stay We also faced parking issues as people would often park their trucks n cars in front of garage.

The location was fabulous, a walk away from the beach and the Boat club which became our little hangout. We loved the view from our unit- the beach and watching the tide, the full moon's reflection on the water and the early morning sunrise. We also met such wonderful people including some of the residents. Everyone was so friendly. Our experience here was priceless.

We arrived on a hot day and were told to walk through the main gate and walk right around to the back of the reception,which was where our unit was located. I wish we had been told that there is another gate entrance near/next to the reception which made a much shorter and convenient walk. We took this short cut everyday during our stay.

The view was incredible, even on the ground floor. Floorplan of the apartment and garage was great. Surprising that the apartment was so warm in winter by the oceanfront 😊 Kids had a lovely lawn space out the back to run around and easy beach access.

All the appliances and cooking gear need updating. Oven has no markings left so don't know what mode/temperature it was on, washing machine super loud, kitchen pans has Teflon coming off etc. Needs a coffee table for drinks and kids to eat.

The location was exceptional. The view from our apartment balcony would be hard to beat! Local facilities were all within easy reach, as were trips and restaurants. Kathy, the resort Receptionist, was friendly, professional and extremely helpful .

I found the unit to be clean and comfortable but slightly spartan and in need of some updating. No provision of cleaning products or coat hangers for guests was disappointing. There was also an element of luck involved in who occupied the surrounding units. Some guests were noisy and disrespectful of others .

Great location and lovely outlook. Staff on arrival at checkin were lovely and helpful. Very welcoming.

I was having trouble locating my car park as it was in the evening and. It as easy to find. I called the after hours number and they said that they weren’t able to help me with that and could give me no direction or help. I was pretty disappointed in their attitude. She also hung up on me without offering any advice or suggestions. Fortunately with some perseverance I found the park and the rest of my stay was pleasant.

I booked this place after looking at the views and the price. Then I read the reviews that were not at all encouraging so we arrived thinking we'd made a mistake. Not so... The staff at check in and check out were very warm and welcoming, no complaints at all. Sure, it is an older complex that could probably do with an external coat of paint, but the gardens were exceptionally neat and tidy. The access to our room was down a few stairs into a darkish stairwell and at this point I was thinking 'what have I booked us into for 3 nights'... Once opening the door to our room my concerns were quickly forgotten when I saw the beautiful outlook and nice, fairly recently renovated room. The bed was comfortable, although very squeaky when either of us turned over! Nice ensuite. Separate toilet, good sized full kitchen, comfortable sofas, nice modern lounge furniture. Perfect! The view is amazing, equally as good as any we'd had in places a lot more expensive. Please disregard the negative ratings, this place is great! Value for money, location, quietness, and those views!!

It was disappointing not to have wifi. I had plenty of data on my phone, but cell phone signal was limited also. So it was a device free 3 days! The 'corelle' crockery took me back to the 70's but in a nice way!!

We always enjoy our stay at BreakFree Great Sandy Straits, it's our chosen destination. Excellent location, rooms are very comfortable and the view from the balcony is fantastic. The only problem l have is the shower in the bath, as l get older, which l am, l find it very dangerous trying to climb into the shower. I am hoping on our next stay that they have normal showers available in rentals.
