Location was perfect and breakfast was nice.

Beds are not comfortable at all its like a camping spong mattresses with almost no pillows. No A/C so its super hot in the room inJune and if u decided to open the window u will discover a new species of bugs and insects that u've never seen in ur lifetime. I suggest to make an air conditioner but i know that wont happen as swiss ppl always want to save energy (money). So the proper solution is to put window screen (net) to prevent some of these wild bugs. They give u daily portion shower jel to dhower once a day :D

Ample on-site parking infront of the hotel and also with a big garage, beautiful view super convenient location and nice breakfast, the decor is quite classical and cozy personaly I like it.

The only bad thing is the pillow, the worst I've ever seen. As I've seen others complaining about the pillow since 2023, I really think their pillows cannot last any longer and in desperate need of changing. As I planned to drive back to paris the next day, the pillow didn't help at all. If I had to give one suggestion, it would be to bring your own pillow.

The hotel is conveniently located near the bus station, making transportation simple and stress-free. It’s also within walking distance to both Pfingstegg and First Grindelwald, which is perfect for exploring the area’s top attractions. As an added bonus, the hotel provides a complimentary public transport pass for getting around Grindelwald with ease.

One area that could be improved is the shower facilities—the shower curtain tends to block the water flow, which can make showering a bit inconvenient. Apart from that, all is good!

The views! almost at the edge of the town and therefore closer to the mountains. Walkable from the station (and its a lovely walk with mountain views) but with heavy luggage you will need to take the bus or taxi. Breakfast is good but cooked items are limited especially if you are not a meat eater but plenty of non cooked stuff. Breakfast balcony has spectacular views.

An AC or even a fan would have been good - yes even in Grindelwald, summer months are warm - we had to open the window wide which had the side effect of a few tiny insects - but this was not a menace.

Perfect location just outside Grindelwald busy and noisy city centre, 2 minutes walk to the bus stop and 10 minutes walk to the city center. Free public transport voucher in Grindelwald and parking available at the property. The buffet breakfast was an added bonus as it was included with the room, the spreed was very divers and generous. Very friendly staffs and services.

The accommodation was a bit dated, however it didn't bother us as everything else made it for it. We'll be back.

Very cosy hotel and one of the best value for money places in Grindelwald, breakfast was amazing, excellent coffee. Room was comfortable and a good size, beautiful views of the mountains from every side.

The location had a lot of merits - including view and quiet - but it is a little further from the town centre. They do provide you with a bus card which is helpful, and the town is maybe 3 bus stops away. On Sundays, the food places within walking distance are closed. The hill down to the hotel from the main road can be quite slippery and difficult with trolley suitcases in winter.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Residence because of the nice quiet room and location. It was close enough to both of the major gondola attractions that we could walk. It was also nice to not be on the main drag of Grindelwald but we could still walk for 5-10 minutes and be anywhere. The hotel offered free parking in their lot which is a big plus when traveling. The breakfast was really good and they had a nice terrance off the eating area. The room was nice and clean and provided a blow dryer. We enjoyed eating at multiple places, but we really liked supper at Mercato, located inside Hotel Spinne.

Our "mountain view" room was slightly misleading while booking, but the front desk worker informed us that every where in Grindelwald was a mountain view. LOL so I just dropped it and moved on.

The Hotel Residence is a bit dated and worn, but still is an excellent place to stay. The location just off the main street offers convenience yet quiet and privacy. The breakfast offers an extensive selection of hot and cold selections, fresh fruit, fresh squeezed oj, several different kinds of bread, a toaster, cheeses, meat and excellent coffee. The wait staff were attentive. The bed was comfortable, and the shower hot. The TV even had a number of channels in English something you don't often find in Switzerland. I would definitely stay there again.

The location is quite far from the train station. You can get a bus. It is worth it because the views from the balcony are very good. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Staff are all very nice. Breakfast was great with views of the mountains.

There is a sink in a cupboard where kettle etc is, looks like a hotplate has been removed. Could have blanked off the hole, but this is very minor point. The balcony is adjoining so we could unlock the the door to our left, but neighbours to right could get access to ours as well. unfortunately were in between a tour group who thought they could just open both doors and wander back and forth. A simple bolt on both sides of the doors would solve this.

The room is clean and cozy. The view is amazing with a cute balcony. The beds are comfortable and everything is clean. Also a outlet converter is there to be used, so thoughtful. The breakfast is beautiful and tasty. Even salmon is provided. Everything is perfect and will come back again.

When we went to back to get out luggages. I asked the receptionist then for some hot water as my daughter is catching a cold but she just got some cold tap water with a straight face.
