Best boutique hotel in Italy! Exceptionally positioned in Corona in a lovely old palazzo retaining original features in an unfussy way. Exceptional staff particularly the receptionist Amalia. They charge €30 per day to park your car in the garage but IT IS WELL WORTH IT. Parking is exceptionally difficult in Cortona and they take your car from right outside the hotel entrance and park it for you and bring it back when needed. This is good value! This is out third time staying in this hotel and, combined with the excellent restaurant next for , Il Preludio, Is a reason alone for visiting Cortona. We will be back!

Nothing. It was perfect

I loved staying in a hotel with such amazing history, the building was a few centuries old but nicely preserved and fit for contemporary needs. It was absolutely beautiful for me, but it all depends on your style and preference. The location is fantastic, just a few steps from the main square, but then Cortona is so small that everything is close 🙂. Parking is available on site which is great.

There are not enough power sources in the room, for a family of four where everyone has at least 2-3 gadgets to plug in it was a war who would use the power plugs (some of them were not even working). Also the network (mobile) was extremely weak so we couldn’t use our phones and mobile internet, and WiFi was ok, not great but manageable.

Stayed at Hotel san Michele for a week, absolutely fantastic location beside the main square in the town, excellent breakfast every morning, housekeeping top class, all staff very nice & accommodating, perfect for a stay in the fantastic town of Cortona!

Only issue is they only supply one keycard per room, so anytime you remove the card the power switches off, it would be nice in the extremely hot weather (38 degrees almost every day) if the aircon unit could be left on, as it needs to restart every time

The location was great. We used the parking garage and that was so handy. The hotel is just beautiful and located just blocks from the main square with lots of restaurant options and shopping. The room was very nice and clean. Breakfast was wonderful with lots of yummy options. But the best thing was the staff. Everyone of them were just amazing. Front desk staff were so friendly and helpful, we were always helped with our bags, the breakfast staff were always waiting on us.

We have no complaints about this property!!

Wonderfully situated. Beautiful building. Extremely comfortable. Sumptuous breakfast. Staff knowledge and nice. Fantastic, historic, romantic Eutruscan hill town in Tuscany. Lovely

Had difficulty securing a taxi on a Sunday morning. Was told I should have made arrangements the day before. Oh well. I walked instead.

Good hotel, great staff, excellent location. They were able to do alot and make it into quite a nice place, given the age of the building and related challenges. Our room (on the top floor) had some low beams running thru it that, if not paying attention, one would smash their head on. We were able to avoid the hazard, and actually appreciated the authenticity. It gave the feeling of staying in and old belfry where one might find Quasimodo himself. View overlooking the old tile roofs and down to the valley floor was amazing.

The location is around the corner from a main square. Excellent service from staff. We stayed an extra day. Good breakfast and large hotel room with wardrobes. And an elevator for you over packers. Have hotel arrange a taxi to pick u up at the train station before you arrive-- a great recommendation I read in another review. Working air conditioning!

I would have loved a bathtub! Bathroom was very spacious.

Everything. There was nothing not to like all the staff were lovely and the facilities were fabulous. Francesca from breakfast every day though is an absolute gem. We will miss her 🩷🩷

I prefer a softer bed but that is just me. There is really absolutely nothing to whinge about, our stay was wonderful.

The hotel was located in the Old Town, close to restaurants, cafes and bars. The staff were exceptional and very helpful. Breakfast was good with a good variety of foods. Room was spacious and had a great view.

There was only a few English speaking channel on the TV (BBC news which was all about America)

The location is excellent, right in the centre of Cortona. The staff was authentically friendly, rooms really charming and comfortable, and breakfast more than we could wish for. A historic building; high ceilings, thick walls, Italian antiques; the exact right atmosphere to enjoy your stay in Italy.
