I have traveled Europe, Asia and all over the United States, Newbury Guess House has one of the best customer services! Ever since COVID, I have found the hotel services are getting worse, we should not expect the quality services anymore, but Newbury Guess House has changed my opinion, the staff are so kind and accommodating, it does not matter who is the staff, they are all providing the great service and they care about guests and want to make sure we are comfortable. The area is very convenient, you can walk out the hotel with many nice restaurants around you and many shops around you too.

Beautiful place in an amazing location. The hotel is right on Newbury Street in Back Bay which was so handy for getting around Boston, we could basically walk anywhere including to Fenway Park for a game, as well as into Downtown Boston. Lots of food and drink options right on Newbury Street. The hotel itself was very comfortable, great room and bathroom, and staff were really kind and helpful. They even reached out after we left to try and reunite us with what they thought were our lost possessions. Would 100% stay again on next visit to Boston

The location was ideal. Very nice front entrance right on Newbury St. near shops & restaurants. Free coffee/hot chocolate/tea/water available all day in lobby. Great view from our room. Comfortable beds. Super amazing and attentive staff. Offered umbrellas to us as it started to rain.

This property was great, but if I had to be honest & say what I did not like it would be these super picky things. Cleaning carts/vacuums were constantly in the hallway. First impression was dimmed when we got off the elevator to go to our room and were greeted with a bag of trash & cleaning supplies. Every time we came/went there were supplies (but no maids) as if they just left things there. Also the elevator smelled bad every time we used it. This could be as it’s located next to a restaurant and possibly captured the grease trap/sewer odors.

Staff were very nice and helpful. We got there at 2pm and were able to check in to our rooms early since the rooms were ready. On the last day we stowed our luggage for a few hours so we could do a tour. They made it very easy and stress free. There is water machine, coffee machine and microwave in the lobby. Very convenient. The sitting area in lobby was very comfortable for hanging out too. Room was very clean and freshly maintained. Very quiet. It even has two recessed lights on the ceiling which makes it much brighter than other hotel rooms we stayed in. We love the location too. Has many food options and market nearby.

The shower design is a bit inconvenient. Can’t avoid getting sprayed by cold water while turning on faucet.

Didn’t have breakfast.

The room stayed hot, even though I tried lowering the thermostat. Opened the window, but closed it upon going to bed. The dryness was a bit uncomfortable. We’ll bring a small humidifier next time😎 Great neighborhood, but late on Saturday night groups of people tended to mill around out front and continue their conversations (from nearby bar/restaurants?). Those guests who aren’t late night peeps should be advised to request an alley room, or anything except one on Newbury street side. Alex, Mark and Brett were all very effective in their positions. Another late night fellow, whose name I didn’t get, was very congenial and helpful.

Very clean facilities and room and lobby. I did not take advantage of the rest of the facility. I took bus form Falmouth to Logan and then took the Logan Express bus to Back Back Bay. the stop was just around the corner from Newbury Guest House. Super convenient. While Google only shows sponser hotels (very nice) there were many very attractive places to eat all around. Would make a great location for exploring Boston. (Museums, Fenway, Boston Common all easy to reach and,of course, shopping on Newbury). Very reasonable rate as well.

i had to get up early to get to hospital for surgery. At it's hotest the shower was only tepid. I don't know if this due to the early hour (5AM) or being on the 4th floor.

Location was excellent in the Back Bay, with great access to restaurants and shopping. Just a block from the Hynes Convention Center. The Newbury had much more charm than a big hotel chain, felt very cozy and inviting. The lobby had reading books and a beverage station, and was always quiet. Staff were super friendly and helpful, gave good advice when asked about nearby attractions. My room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The provided robe was a welcome touch.

It took some time to get hot water in the shower. Just needed to be patient!

The staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the local area, taking time for each guest who had a question. The location is fantastic. So many great places within walking distance. I liked this area even better when I was a teenager. then, it was funky and full of young adults. Now it's upscale and full of fancy clothing stores. However, it still has fun restaurants and beautiful architecture. The room was quiet at night despite a bustling area outside. An all-around wonderful stay!

I loved walking up to it and seeing it was a beautiful brownstone—a wonderful departure from regular hotels. The lobby was bright and inviting and the man who checked me in was friendly and patient. I loved the filtered water machine and coffees/teas. I also loved my room and then view of Newbury Street. Good bed, good shower, good all around.

I was pleased with my entire stay. I can't think of anything to complain about and I'll definitely stay there again.

We have stayed at The Guest House before and loved it. Excellent location for us we have two sons that live in Back Bay. The French La Voile restaurant downstairs is absolutely wonderful. Then next door Bittersweet Shoppe on Newbury serves breakfast and lunch. Cafe with lovely outdoor seating. We needed a restaurant that would get us in and out in a short amount of time. We try pearl sugar waffle which tasted like heaven and two petite frittatas that were so light and flavorful. Parking was a major plus for us, because it's impossible to fine convenient parking in Boston.
